2013 Super Bowl Odds: What are the Browns' Chances?

Super Bowl 2013 = Cleveland Browns?

Super Bowl 2013 = Cleveland Browns?

Just as one season ends, the odds for who will win next year's Super Bowl are unveiled. Who are the early favorites? That would be the Green Bay Packers (6/1) and the New England Patriots (7/1), the same two teams who were the favorites heading into the 2011-2012 season. The Giants, meanwhile, are eighth on the list with 15/1 odds. Talk about not getting any respect after winning it twice in four years!

Last year, the Cleveland Browns were 60/1 odds for the Super Bowl. Did they place any better with this year's odds? The odds for the AFC North are listed after the jump.

Unfortunately…betting on the Browns is throwing good money after bad. H&H are not interested in building a team for this year. WE are to wait until 2014, before we will have a team to compete. The only thing they forgot is the Ravens, Steelers and Bengals will continue to get better and they have their future QBs now. WE don’t and with fans in this forum, we won’t ever have one.

We compete next year.

Yes, because losing, is still technically competing.

How dare our front office want to build a team the proper way. Don’t they know the best way to build a winner is through free agency!?

We should really follow the last decades trend of demanding overnight success or nothing.

We should hook them up with that Snyder fellow to give them some pointers.

No need for that, we had an expert in-house for years in Opie Savage. Now if we could just pry him away from his awesome responsibilities as an Arkansas color commentator…

All joking aside, he works for the Eagles now.

Yeah, i had heard that. Given his eye for talent, however, I still think the guy should have stuck to radio.

If only HH knew all you have to do is WANT to win this year and it will happen! Is it too late?! SOMEONE GET ME A PHONE.

Why would Romney have been mentioned?

Well like it says – shown, not mentioned, so I’m guessing he was there or maybe they thought he would be?

Because he’s from Massachusetts and Kraft is a big R guy so maybe some people thought he’d be in his box.

About the special props, did they show Peyton Manning even once?

I didn’t see him at all. Thought that would be easy money.

I thought all the TV ones were pretty easy money. Kraft would’ve been the hardest, but I am not at all surprised.

In all fairness, the words to the national anthem were shown on the skinny screens between the decks that wrapped around the stadium. So whoever bet she would miss words wasn’t making a bad bet- Lucas Oil Stadium just cheated. Rats.

if I had bet, I would’ve had all the “tv glimpse” over and unders right. Those were the only ones I would’ve beet on too.

These people clearly have not seen the Betty White clip yet.

On a side note, will we ever see the Ravens or Steelers have to strip down and rebuild? I, personally, don’t think we will at any point in the near future. Those two are absolute model franchises, with almost perfect drafting. It seems like whenever a Steeler player gets old, hurt, or near retirement they are able to draft a guy, plug him in, and it still works like clockwork. Big Ben isn’t getting any younger, but he still has a ton of time left. The defenses are getting old for both teams, but do any of you doubt their ability to seamlessly transition to the younger guys?

That’s the frustrating thing, that it doesn’t look like there’ll be a window to make our efforts to win the division any easier.

Of course, we’ll still win the super bowl next year.

It takes years and years of building a team properly. You have to learn to develop young players.

It’s what H&H are trying to do here. It just takes a long time.

Big Ben isn’t getting any younger, but he still has a ton of time left.

Our Defense and his ankle have something to say about this.

One of the benefits of having a good team. Once you’re good, every draft pick isn’t filling an area of need, so you have the luxury of taking young depth at a position. Then when the starter is injured or old, oh hey, we’ve already been developing his replacement. Once you get good, you can stay good with smart planning.

For a rebuilding team, the tricky part is getting good. And the Browns finally appear committed to doing it right so they don’t have to do it again for a long time.

Unless some of these younger players they drafted live up to their potential and perform like these fanbases say they can, I can definitely see it happening. They are great at drafting, but some of their supposed replacement younger guys (Ziggy Hood, Worlids, Sergio Kindle, jameel mcclain) haven’t fully stood up yet and shown they can replace these guys.

Some will, but I see less possibility then in their previous reloads.

They also haven’t had to replace their future HoF guys yet. Replacing Kimo Van Olhoffen is easier than replacing Polamalu or Ray Lewis.

Anyone else tempted to put $100.00 on the Browns to win it all? I know its a long shot, but hell, that’d be awesome

and a cool thousand on “first score of the game is a safety”… wonder what the odds are that it happens AGAIN!

The problem is these odds are an accurate assessment of a team 80% of the time. Which means to me Vegas thinks we are worse off now then we were 2 years ago. There should be a shift in the odds after the draft and FA but no way are we dropping that number to 50 to 1.

I’d rather be worse now with a bright future than slightly better with a bunch of old guys. I’m not sure if you’re saying we were better off under Mangini, but I think it’s necessary to bottom out and have a full rebuild in order to get to where we eventually want to be.

Our odds may improve drastically after our draft!

So your saying theres a chance??
