A schedule hasn't been released for the 2012-2013 NFL season, and it's might not even be close to being in the works yet. One thing is for sure though: the Cleveland Browns will have at least one prime time game.
Commissioner Roger Goodell held a press conference Friday to discuss a variety of things, one of which was the fact that all 32 teams would be featured in a prime time game next season. One of the reasons that will be possible is that Thursday Night Football will be expanded next year. Instead of getting started past the half-way point of the season, the NFL Network will host games from Week 2 to Week 15, not including the Thanksgiving week (which NBC will host). Presumably, NBC will also host the Week 1 Thursday game to open the season.
NBC typically features the legitimate "best games of the week," so I doubt Cleveland will get one of those contests. They didn't have a Monday Night game last year though, so maybe that is what they'll end up getting.

Probably just the game in Shitsburgh again.

Yeah, the league is always so generous to the Browns like that…

The rest of the country can enjoy us kicking their ass next year

Once in a while the NFL has to remind everyone that there is a team in Cleveland.

Well ALL teams will have a primetime game next year so not like they are giving the Browns some kind of recognition. They just decided to have more Thursday games and give every team a primetime game.

It’s a marketing tool by the NFL if nothing else so they can keep fans from moaning when their teams don’t play in prime time games. It’s cool, but we really don’t deserve any recognition anyway. We always seem to play a little bit better out of the media spotlight anyway.
But whatever, Yeah, it’s almost guaranteed that they’ll put us up against the Steelers again. If I had a choice though I think we would be better off playing Cincinnati prime time as we’d have a better chance of beating them.

Its also a way to turn up the heat on cable providers like Time Warner who won’t pay for the NFLN

The Browns will probably be early in the season. They play in New York vs. the Giants, that might be an early Thursday night game.

That game could very easily be scheduled at the end of the year since the schedule won’t be out for another couple months.

I only wish that the one time I see them all year wasn’t a loss.

I personally prefer 1 o’clock Sunday games over any other time slot. I know it makes it less likely I can watch on TV, but it’s the perfect time for football IMO.

Your 1pm Sunday games are at 10 am here in Las Vegas, and I am at work on Sundays, so all I get to see is the night game. I would love for another Thursday game @ home against shitsburgh, the last time we sacked rapelesburger like 7 or 8 times.

Not sure whether this is a good or bad thing. There were plenty of crappy primetime matchups last year. In an ideal world they would make the last half of the season flex scheduling to get the best games on, but I know the logistics make it an impossibility. At least this might mean we don’t get the same league poster teams shoved down our throats as much. (See – Patriots, stealers, Cowboys, and until recently the Colts)

Even my wife commented on how terrible some of the matchups were…we were bored several times. Colts v Bucaneers? Rams v Seahwks? Vikings v Packers? barf
