Morning Dawg Chow (2/2/12)
by Jon @ DBN on Feb 2, 2012 9:23 AM EST
Cleveland Browns:

NFL:
- "Julian Edelman, from Kent State, and Giants' Chase Blackburn, from Akron" (Cleveland.com) - This isn't Browns related, but it's definitely Ohio related. This article mentions Super Bowl players from the MAC in years past and those helping to carry the "MAC banner" this year.
- "NFL fines Umenyiora $20,000 for media absence" (Yahoo! Sports) - In case you haven't heard, outside of "Gronk-Watch," the biggest news might have been that Osi Umenyiora was fined a whopping $20,000 for missing the all important Super Bowl media circus.
- "Gronkowski misses fourth straight practice with ankle sprain" (SI.com) - Speaking of Gronk-Watch, Gronkowski missed his fourth strait practice due to his high ankle sprain. Meanwhile, Bill Bellichick's comments on the situation are very Bellichickian, "We had our moments."
- Irsay planning to take time on Manning decision (Yahoo! Sports) - Unfortunately it seemed that I couldn't even go two days without linking to a Peyton Manning story. It just seems to me that it's an extremely hard decision to make and he's pushing it off. Ultimately, they'll hand the keys to Luck.
Opps! All Dawg Chow!

Can I just ask something OT? What in the hell is up with the hairy man in white-tight brand underdrawers and a ski mask that shows up whenever I come to DBN? Why??
shep615 - February 2, 2012
It stayed on on my comp last night, seems to be an ad for a new TV show on Adult Swim.
The New Kardiac Kids - February 2, 2012
You’ve never heard of Delocated? It’s a canceled show that is now going to DVD. Adultswim show. Never got into it.
SpecialBrownie - February 2, 2012
New episodes just started up.
Brownie's Year - February 3, 2012
I don’t mind the ads (hell I might even click on them if I knew that’s how Chris gets paid) but those expanding banners piss me off.
GrillGuy - February 2, 2012
Nope, so don’t click on my behalf. Only click if you feel the ad fits your demographic.
Chris Pokorny - February 2, 2012
Good. Now I don’t feel guilty for AdBlock Plus.
Doc's Kid - February 2, 2012
Its an SB Nation campaign ad, with the heavy promotion being today (since it is the season premiere). A similar question was asked by a few other NFL bloggers. We were told that the campaign should start to fizzle out after today.
Chris Pokorny - February 2, 2012
I knew I was uploading my new avatar wrong.
nickjs21 - February 2, 2012
LOL
DawgsNHawgs - February 2, 2012
nice
HenryDawg - February 2, 2012
It’s another one of Adult Swim’s Joe Thomas awful live action shows. The only exception I can think of is Saul of the Molemen. Everything else they produce that isn’t in cartoon/stop-motion formats is turrrrrrble.
North Coast Flea - February 2, 2012
CN/AS is horrible. I’ll watch Family Guy at 11pm, but that’s it.
Brownie's Year - February 3, 2012
Yeah. Why is what I want to know? Freakin’ creepy. Positive I’ll never watch it now. lol
DawgsNHawgs - February 2, 2012
JULIAN EDELMAN! FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF YEAH!
SpecialBrownie - February 2, 2012
Would it be a bad idea to bring McNabb in if we can’t get a QB in the draft?
Pros: He knows our entire FO from Philly. He should know the offense more or less. It would be similar to bringing in Delhomme to help McCoy.
Cons: He isn’t as good as he was. He seems somewhat content with his time in the NFL and might not play as hard as McCoy or un-named drafted QB.
crazyL80 - February 2, 2012
you transposed a pro with a con: it would be similar to bringing in delhomme to help mccoy.
pwndabear - February 2, 2012
So we can have 1 more mediocre at best QB?
browndawgbacker - February 2, 2012 via iPhone app
you think wallace is mediocre???
pwndabear - February 2, 2012
This. Present day McNabb is way better than any day Wallace.
Dawg Nuts - February 2, 2012
actually, i was just being my usual cynical self in the sense that adding mcnabb will not be an improvement at all and wallace will still be our best qb which is a satire on the fact that wallace is, in fact, a fairly bad qb.
pwndabear - February 2, 2012
Wow man…..deep……… real deep.
DaveDawg09 - February 2, 2012
totally.
pwndabear - February 2, 2012
Go Zips!
Red-Right-88 - February 2, 2012
Flag for linking to a Trent Dilfer article.
bbstirrd - February 2, 2012
Hensley’s article, which is the main link, is actually a good work around so you don’t have to read Dilfer. Also, there’s no pay wall for the ESPN AFC North Blog.
Jon @ DBN - February 2, 2012
I was just joking, anyway. Me no likey Dilfer.
bbstirrd - February 2, 2012
“I believe in McCoy but am not sure he has a great chance to succeed there.”
Then where Trent?
