I did too, but Daily Dawg Chow seems to make a little more sense because not everyone is going to be reading in the morning. I don’t think I would like being a late riser that wakes up every afternoon knowing that my Dawg Chow has already gotten stale. I mean, come on, it’s been out since the morning! “Daily Dawg Chow” seems to imply you can pull that chow out of the fridge during the day anytime you want.
The idea of Manning playing for the Texans intrigues me. They would have to find somewhere for Schaub to go, I would imagine (I can’t see him wanting to play second-fiddle on his team). Maybe they take Manning and put Schaub on the trading block. Maybe they would love having the winningest QB in NCAA history who also happens to be the sweetheart of the state of Texas sitting and learning behind Manning? I could be down with Schaub under center in Cleveland.
That would be an interesting scenario that I could be happy with. Would the Texans have the cap room to hold them both to dangle Schuab as trade bait, or would they have to pretty much outright release him?
I’m just a little fuzzy about the rules relating to offseason roster moves, like if Schuab would hit the waiver wire(putting us near the front of the line for him were this to happen and we could assume the remainder of his contract) or if he’d be an outright free agent.
I was wondering about those specifics as well. Does anyone know what happens to the salary of players when they are traded? Released? What would count against the team’s salary cap that is trading the player away?
Lets see, the Texans grab Manning, put Schaub on the trading block, the Browns offer Colt and a late round pick or two, the Texans accept offer, as a result Seneca Wallace bitches his way out of town, talk of the Browns taking RGIII goes away (thankfully) and the Browns first pick in the draft is traded to a team who wants and needs RGIII for a first and second round pick this year and next years first round. They use these picks to upgrade the O line and get a top WR, beef up the DE and LB spots and the Browns go on to a 9-7 season next year.
i liked morning dawg chow better.

It was a slow news day for the Browns.

The amount of comments on this blog weighing the pros and cons of a post’s name is simply stunning.

I’ll take it as respite from the ‘to RG3 or not to RG3’ question we usually dwell on.

When you look at it that way, debate on.
nickjs21 - February 14, 2012
We didn’t need a change to “Daily Dawg Chow”; all “Morning Dawg Chow” needed was a couple more O-lineman and some decent WRs.
Dawg Nuts - February 14, 2012
you misspelled “cleveland browns”
pwndabear - February 14, 2012
Daily Dawg Chow already has the Cleveland Browns.

If the Texans were crazy enough to give up Schaub, I’d be happy to have him on the Browns.

Colt and late round picks for Schaub? Dream on, you kinky fantasist. We should be so lucky.
ouched - February 14, 2012
More like Colt, our late 1st rounder and a 3rd rounder.
Justin Kowalczyk - February 14, 2012
Still hoping Manning will land in Denver so they can get that False Messiah off the field.
