Earlier today, reports surfaced on CBS Sports that wide receiver Hines Ward might be retiring after the team's loss to the Denver Broncos. According to Hines Ward's Facebook page though, he has no plans of retiring: he wants to come back and be just as ineffective as he was this year.
I'm also getting lots of questions about retirement so let me set the record straight: I have no plans on retiring right now. I want to win another Superbowl. I don't know where the media is getting this info from but rest assured that when I decide to retire, you'll hear it from ME first. - HINES
If you look at the reaction of Steelers fans, the opinions are mixed. Some fans would welcome him back for a year for the veteran minimum, while others think he should hang it up. Ward was terrible against the Browns this year. In two games against Cleveland, he finished with 6 catches for 30 yards, 1 fumble lost, and 1 dropped pass. It got so bad that his "1,000th career pass" had to be a forced pass behind the line of scrimmage for a loss of yardage, seeing as the guy can't get open or catch a pass anymore.

And stay as long as you’d like…or until you break a hip. Whichever comes first.

I’m glad he’s not retiring yet. It will make next season’s more enjoyable to see him and the Steelers fail some more.

The Steelers can keep all their geezers. It won’t help. They’re done.

I hate the guy, but it certainly is annoying when the media just makes shit up out of the blue. We, as Browns fans, are all too familiar with that.

Tony Grossi is a criminal.

We should be so lucky to have the Steelers keep aged, slow, ineffective receivers on their roster.

If Ward was a horse it would be time to send him to the glue factory by now.

But seeing as he can’t hang on to a pass anymore he’d probably make pretty shitty glue.

The real question on everyone’s mind is will Ben’s stupid, tiny hat announce its retirement after achieving the pinnacle of hat fame during the Denver post game conference? Or is it determined to come out of the hat box once more, perch itself atop Ben’s fat head, and be the star of yet another lost game’s post game presser? Should it go out on top or risk looking like a has been next season? Big questions for the Steelers this offseason.

its gonna be the Joan Rivers of the hat world.

Exactly. They are both made from man-made parts.

Personally I bet it gets arrested for sexually assaulting another hat at a bar in Georgia, but the Rooneys keep the hat on their squad. In the meantime a fourth string wideout’s less stupid and slightly bigger hat gets cut for marijuana possession.

Unfinished business
Upon reflection, Hines has decided to stay. He realized there were still some players in the league he hadn’t blind-sided yet.

Hines Ward is the Ric Flair of the NFL…he’s just going to keep playing even though he’s pathetic to still watch.

He must have got turned down for that back up dancer spot. His dancing and the rapists hat makes me think there is a steeler boy band in the works.

Hmm, Polamalu could be the “pretty boy”, Kiesel could be the gruff one, Ben would be the brooding one, and Whines could be the crybaby.
