5 months ago: DENVER, CO - JANUARY 08: Tim Tebow #15 of the Denver Broncos celebrates after running the ball in the end zone for a touchdown in the second quarter against the Pittsburgh Steelers during the AFC Wild Card Playoff game at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on January 8, 2012 in Denver, Colorado. (Photo by Jeff Gross/Getty Images)
That. Just Happened.
I thought it could only happen in a dream, but no. That dream became a reality. Cleveland Browns fans were Tim Tebow fans today, and by golly, he delivered against the Pittsburgh Steelers, leading the Denver Broncos to a 29-23 victory in overtime.
He made James Harrison look like a joke all game long. In fact, most of the Steeler defenders were taken to school by Tebow. His final line? 10-of-21 for 316 yards and 2 touchdown passes. That is an astounding 31.6 yards per completion. He also ran it 10 times for 50 yards and 1 touchdown.
Sure, Tebow had a great supporting cast today, such as his offensive line and wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, who went over 200 yards receiving on 4 catches, including the game-winning 80-yard score on the first play of overtime. But for most of the game, you had to love Tebow sticking it right to the Steelers. No talk of a backup quarterback like Brady Quinn needing to come in, or the Steelers' defense being too much for the Broncos to handle. Tebow eliminated the Steelers from the playoffs, and it's time for Browns fans across the world to start partying.
(side note: by Denver winning, Cleveland's second first-round draft choice in April also improves from No. 23 overall to No. 22 overall).

Yeah, after this game, the Mayans can go ahead and just end it now.
Simmsinns - January 8, 2012
Yep
I loved how old and slow the Pittsburgh defense looked tonight! This is what I’ve been waiting patiently for for about 4 years now. Let the aging (and losing) begin for these arrogant clowns. The young replacements for Hampton, Keisel and Smith didn’t look too awesome, now did they? Hooray! They’re probably only one more Polamalu concussion away from 3rd place in the AFC North next year. Couldn’t happen to a finer bunchy of dudes!!!!!
Wyoming Chas - January 8, 2012

The New Kardiac Kids - January 8, 2012
Back in the late 80’s, NBC sent a film crew to a sports bar out on W.26th St (I think), one year when the Bills, Browns and Steelers were all in the playoffs. I remember them showing shots of the signs close to I79 showing the routes to all three cities.

And on the 7th day, after overtime, Tebow rested.
realmccoy - January 8, 2012
Really impressed by Coach Fox – great hire. I would personally vote him over Harbaugh (SF) for coach of the year because I have never seen a defense improve that much in one year – and I was so impressed how he just threw the offense out in mid season, put Tebow in, and rocked and rolled to the playoffs. Most coaches are too stubborn to do that.
realmccoy - January 8, 2012
“sure you had potentially a 14 point swing

QUESTION ABOUT OT
Sorry for the Subject line use.
IF the team receives the kick off in the overtime is tackled in then endzone for a safety is the game over or do they have an opportunity to onside kick and get the ball back?
champion64 - January 8, 2012
wow, what a hypothetical question, but i think the rule states if you score on the opening possession, you win.
athensdawg - January 8, 2012
Not if you score a field goal. THe other team gets a chance with the ball
champion64 - January 8, 2012
I am guessing the game is over
champion64 - January 8, 2012
Yes, the game would be over.
Simmsinns - January 8, 2012

QUESTION ABOUT OT
IF the team receives the kickoff in overtime, downs it then on the first play from scrimmage throws an 80 yard completion for a touchdown is the game over and the opposing team eliminated from the playoffs?
jonnyphoenix - January 8, 2012
Hells yes it is!
North Coast Flea - January 8, 2012
I believe it does.
Let’s double check with a freshly toasted, out of position, Troy Polamalu…. It does.
Bernie19Kosar - January 9, 2012
That and Harrison’s hilarious and blatant roughing the passer penalty that allowed the Tebows to move into field goal range made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Adrock2099 - January 9, 2012
that is a tough one i may need to do some research on…………go post that Q on the steelers forum and see if you get the answer, they may know more about that topic than i do. Sorry
allsides - January 9, 2012
The rule does state that a defensive score of any kind on the opening drive wins the game from what they said on TV.
North Coast Flea - January 8, 2012
Yup. The point is that each team has to have an OPPORTUNITY to possess the ball unless a TD is scored, and then if one team is ahead at that point, that team wins. Thus, if an onside kick is recovered and the team then scores a FG, that team wins, because the receiving team had an OPPORTUNITY to possess the ball.
If there is a defensive score, then both teams have also had the opportunity to possess the ball as either the defense has in fact possessed it (i.e., interception, fumble for TD) or there was a safety (in which case the team getting the safety automatically would have had the OPPORTUNITY to get the free kick and possession).
It all makes perfect sense when you think about it, but maybe it only makes perfect sense to me because I am a lawyer and have to think about rules all the time.
TheDriveStillHurts - January 9, 2012
Best part, if a team picks off a pass, and fumbles it during the return, the game is now a sudden death playoff.
Bernie19Kosar - January 9, 2012
Which raises another point:
If you lose the coin toss, why not on-side kick it? The other team would have to recover, or it would become sudden death. Your defense would have to keep them out of the endzone, but it would be a ballsy call.
Bernie19Kosar - January 9, 2012

browndawgbacker - January 9, 2012 via iPhone app
Well, this was one helluva night! I’m off for now, still grinning ear to ear.
Simmsinns - January 8, 2012
Great day for the Browns… Falcons lost locking in the draft pick at a decent point and the Steelers lost! Thanks Denver!
Brownsyup - January 8, 2012
Tebow really played an incredible game. I was really glad he sent Pittsburgh home. Now the idiots from Baltimore have to lose and we will be all right.
duke4711 - January 8, 2012
Love the Tebow pressers. He talks about everyone else but him.
Brownie's Year - January 8, 2012
how do i get back on their site? change my email account?
athensdawg - January 8, 2012
i’d make up a new one for tonight!
athensdawg - January 8, 2012
It’s funny how steeler fans think everyone hates them because we’re jealous of their success. I don’t give a shit about their success. The Patriots are successful and I don’t hate them. Same with the Packers.
No, we hate the Steelers because we hate all of their players in unique yet passionate ways, and their QB is a dirty rapist.
They need to step out of the bubble they live in and understand what pussies they all are
tr1betime - January 8, 2012
Might as well enjoy it you pitiful excuses for football fans...
…because at least the Steelers made it to the playoffs; when’s the last time the Browns did.
Bernie19Kosar, for someone holding a position of responsibility for a blog site, your comments show a serious lack of maturity and class. Whining about DBN’ers being banned at BTSC yet encouraging and making just the type of comments that result in such bans, you guys show far less leniency here. So, go ahead and ban me if you want; if you can, let me know how I can revoke my access to this piss poor shit-hole excuse of a blog site that so accurately reflects the miserable quality of Browns fans; its no wonder you guys focus so much on bandwagoners; only someone born and brainwashed in Cleveland could possibly find your collective lack of class and decency acceptable.
AssHats, all of you.
PaVaSteeler - January 8, 2012
I’m from Columbus and the Browns have fans all over the world. Condoleeza Rice is a Browns fan and she grew up in Alabama. You know why? Because the Browns were the first team to desegregate. So talk all the shit you like, but at the end of the day, we have 2 more championships than you and we can hold our head high as a class organization. Glad you got one for the thumb, we’ll be putting rings on our toes while your players are out raping women.
HenryDawg - January 8, 2012
Browns aren't going to see the grass of a Super Bowl field...
…for years to come; they don’t have the organizational integrity, and certainly, if the DBN posters are a representative sample of what all Browns fans are like, don’t have a fan base that deserves any success.
As to your antiquated championships, hold on to their memory; long after the rest of the football world stops caring about them, you can hold them tight and cherish them.
And as your claim of caring about segregation, if you really had any real basis for caring, you would recognize the Rooneys as being at least as pro-active in that area as your Ravens were (yea, since the Browns you reference no longer play in Cleveland).
PaVaSteeler - January 8, 2012
Lol and your Steelers no longer play this season.
SpecialBrownie - January 8, 2012
Played longer than your pitiful team.
PaVaSteeler - January 8, 2012
Lol then you lost to Tebow.
SpecialBrownie - January 8, 2012
LOL - still made the playoffs...
…still won more games than we lost…still have a team players want to come to, instead of a team like the Browns.
PaVaSteeler - January 8, 2012
Quick, somebody call 9-wah-wah for this clown.
The Licensed Optimist - January 8, 2012
Are you hurting?
The New Kardiac Kids - January 8, 2012
Come on, bring it in, get a hug.
The New Kardiac Kids - January 8, 2012
Yea, when you're used to winning....
…a playoff loss hurts. But the Browns and DBN wouldn’t know that, would you, since you haven’t seen the post season in how long? Can’t even keep a team in the city; have to have a charity team given to you.
PaVaSteeler - January 8, 2012
Now hey, You guys won a lot right?
The New Kardiac Kids - January 8, 2012
Disregard that and focus on me.
The New Kardiac Kids - January 8, 2012
Lol you lost to Tebow.
SpecialBrownie - January 8, 2012
And wouldn’t the charity team be for Baltimore? Yes, yes it would. Can’t even keep your jokes straight. Fucking your mother is making you stupid.
SpecialBrownie - January 8, 2012
I think it was his father fucking their mutual mother that made him retarded.
North Coast Flea - January 8, 2012
Really dude? You come over here, on our site, and get your little girl panties in a wad that we’re happy your team lost? In case you haven’t woken up in the last few decades, WE ARE RIVALS.
I get that you need to make yourself feel better and justify your fandom though, especially after your defense got shredded tonight) by picking on a “weaker” team than yours. Just remember, that’s a grade school mentality and indicative of someone with no impulse control whatsoever.
The Licensed Optimist - January 8, 2012

ctowndawgpound - January 9, 2012
Actually, if you must know, I despise the fact that I live by a city that’s so dirty that all of the trees died 60 years ago. And if you think I’m talking about Cleveland you need to brush up on your Pittsburgh history.
North Coast Flea - January 9, 2012
Don’t forget about the air quality being among the worst in the world.
Doc's Kid - January 9, 2012
Is that seriously true?
rufio - January 10, 2012
And by this I mean “I demand a link to the infallible Wikipedia”
rufio - January 10, 2012
I don’t really have a link. I looked for one, trust me. But yes, it is 100% accurate. I learned it While on a tour of Pittsburgh. There was also a Chicago style fire there in the early 1900’s that was caused by a flood of all things.
North Coast Flea - January 10, 2012
Ha! We light our rivers on fire, they start fires with their rivers. No wonder its a rivalry.
rufio - January 10, 2012
Never even thought of it that way. That’s Joe Thomas-damned hilarious!
North Coast Flea - January 10, 2012
That is beautiful. If you don’t want to use it in your sig, may I?

Welcome to the offseason.
You didn’t win squat.
Bernie19Kosar - January 9, 2012
The Rooney Rule? What is that like 10 years old? The Browns desegregated in the 40s when people died over such decisions.
HenryDawg - January 8, 2012
Yea, but thats not your team...
…this organization hasn’t done anything like that. Now the Ravens have that history, but not these Browns.
And I’m not even talking about the Rooney Rule; I’m talking about back in the same time period. Rooneys may not have spearheaded desegregation like the Browns owner back then did, but in their way they were far more progressive than the rest of the league (any segregation being bad, mind you). That owner of those Browns, and the Rooneys, were two of the most powerful ownerships in a nascent league, and whose combined influence made the NFL what it is (or was, till this newer crop of owners started chasing all the money)…but I dare bet no one here would ever admit any good qualities ever came out of the Steeler organization; even though it, and its fan base stood beside Cleveland and against Modell’s move to Baltimore. Of course not, yinz just want to wallow in revisionist history.
PaVaSteeler - January 8, 2012
Ahh, the ever-present argument about how “classy” the Rooneys are that every Steelers fan sanctimoniously mentions at any given opportunity. Please, spare me the crocodile tears at how maligned your ownership and fan base is in the eyes of other teams throughout the league. The “we’re so misunderstood and classy” mantra is laughable.
As for revisionist history, claiming that the Ravens hold the history of the Browns strikes me as exactly that, but since you’ve had such a tough loss today your irrational and erroneous claims are hardly surprising.
Off-the-Chain - January 8, 2012
If the Rooneys are so classy why do they have a rapist as their QB? You are just mad because everytime we played you we hurt your sad aging team enough to make it one and done for you in a game you were overwhelmingly favored.
Red-Right-88 - January 9, 2012
Ben was never, not once even charged with a crime, ever.
You expect the Rooney’s to fire a guy based solely on hearsay?
I mean if he got all liquored up one night, got into a car, and mowed down a pedestrian in his Bentley, I’d expect the Rooney’s to fire him. But, nah, you Browns fans keep telling yourselves that you’re team takes the high road on off-the-field incidents.
furthur56 - January 9, 2012
your.
Dawg Nuts - January 9, 2012
You're a douchbag. See I used it properly that time.
furthur56 - January 9, 2012
Rooneys
North Coast Flea - January 9, 2012
come on NCF, he OWNS the Rooney’s
bross09 - January 9, 2012
But you misspelled douche-bag.
Bernie19Kosar - January 9, 2012
Wow. You sure showed me.
Dawg Nuts - January 9, 2012
Take that, you bag of douch!
rufio - January 10, 2012
When Stallworth was released from jail he was let go the same day. Don’t be an idiot.
Brownie's Year - January 9, 2012
And what did the Rooneys do when Ben was released from jail?
Oh, wait a moment, he never went to jail. How about what the Rooneys did when Ben was arrested. Oh wait, he was never arrested. Don’t you be an idiot.
furthur56 - January 9, 2012
But wife-beating is cool.
North Coast Flea - January 9, 2012
are you talking about Rouben Droughns?
furthur56 - January 9, 2012
Who is that?
Bernie19Kosar - January 9, 2012
Yeah sure, that’s exactly who I mean.
North Coast Flea - January 9, 2012
I'd be careful with what I'd say about Harrison,
You know what he likes to do to Browns fans who act a fool.

furthur57 - January 9, 2012
So he tombstones opposing teams’ fans on their field. That helps your case.
SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2012
Not all opposing teams' fans, just yours.
furthur57 - January 10, 2012
Once again, you’ve made a completely irrelevant argument. I suppose you think your dad could beat up our dads too?
Dawg Nuts - January 10, 2012

Good luck in retirement, James.

Not saying anything that isn’t the truth.
North Coast Flea - January 10, 2012

don’t toss him soft pitches he can hit out of the park.
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
He wasn’t convicted, he most certainly was charged, hence the giant trial.
Its OK steeler fans, we know you don’t comprehend things like rules, civics or the law.
HenryDawg - January 9, 2012
Yeah, I know. I was trying to be nice and lay off that one. But since you’re going there I’d be remiss if I didn’t express my surprise that you Browns fans believe the truth wasn’t reflected in a court’s decision. I thought you guys believed whatever a court tells you is 100% the truth.
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
Laughable. Mindless troll is mindless.
Dawg Nuts - January 10, 2012
Does this help with what Denver did to you?
The New Kardiac Kids - January 8, 2012
how do the Ravens have that history? If they did, then wouldn’t their franchise index on a site like Football-reference go 1946-1995 (Browns), 1996-Present (Ravens).
No form of historical record keeping recognizes the Ravens as having that history.
It’s one thing to say that the franchise moved to Baltimore, but it’s clear as day for someone who isn’t trying to start up shit and troll (or someone who isn’t extremely biased to the point of stupidity) that the Browns history still is in Cleveland.
bross09 - January 8, 2012
You’ve basically described all Steeler’s fans here.
Off-the-Chain - January 8, 2012
Your history was given to you by court order.
Not because your team earned it.
furthur56 - January 9, 2012
are you REALLY this stupid?
Mr. Bad Example - January 9, 2012
Your team is an expansion club, kinda like the Jacksonville Jaguars
Only the Jags have made it to the AFC championship game.
furthur56 - January 9, 2012
the Jaguars have nothing to do with this conversation. your logic being completely unsound does.
Mr. Bad Example - January 9, 2012
I'm just saying that the Jaguars have a deeper, richer, playoff tradition than the Browns do.
furthur56 - January 9, 2012
and what you’re saying is wrong. keep trying, though.
Mr. Bad Example - January 9, 2012
Ok, you either have to smarten up or you will be asked to leave.
I have no problem with trash talk, but you at least have to be somewhat factual…
Bernie19Kosar - January 9, 2012
Hahaha, man you guys really are butthurt about this loss.
Off-the-Chain - January 9, 2012
aren’t they, though?
Mr. Bad Example - January 9, 2012
Seriously. The more they troll, the more delighted I am that they got beat. I mean clearly this loss really hurt them. Each asinine comment only further proves it.
Off-the-Chain - January 9, 2012
I can take the loss. We got Tebowed. It happened.
What I can’t stand is loser ass Brown fans acting like they won something on our site. Your team accomplished nothing, it never accomplishes anything, it never will accomplish anything. So be proud of the fact that another team did something that your team can’t do; beat us in the playoffs. Because that would require you to get to the playoffs. Good luck with your top five draft pick, again.
furthur56 - January 9, 2012
SO butthurt…
Mr. Bad Example - January 9, 2012
We did win something.
Your tears.

Seconded.
Off-the-Chain - January 9, 2012
We did accomplish trying to break Ben’s ankle and getting Mendenhall out of your lineup. So I guess we did accomplish something to help you lose.
Kimble_79 - January 9, 2012
except that by your coming over here to cry about a few of us rubbing in your face (which you guys would NEVER, EVER do to us…) proves how much it DOES in fact bother you

Mr. Bad Example - January 9, 2012

North Coast Flea - January 9, 2012
Just one stripper? Go for the home run, snort it off of six strippers in a row, then pass out face first into their breasts.

That wasn’t me, but cool, I’ll see how it goes over with my wife too.
Dawg Nuts - January 9, 2012

Bernie19Kosar - January 9, 2012
wait…and the City of Baltimore’s team did?
bross09 - January 9, 2012
They did earn it hence the court order. Exactly how stupid do you want us to think you are?
HenryDawg - January 9, 2012
That’s irrelevant to what we’ll actually think of him.
Dawg Nuts - January 9, 2012
They probably haven’t invented that level of stupid yet.
HenryDawg - January 9, 2012
This just shows exactly how up your ass your head is.
North Coast Flea - January 9, 2012
Are you a comedian?
North Coast Flea - January 9, 2012
That’s odd, Baltimore isn’t Cleveland and Ravens is different from Browns. Also a legal court decided that the Browns history stays in Cleveland. Ahhh, I see where you’re confused. Legality and rules don’t compute for Steeler fan. It’s OK we’ll be patient with you.
HenryDawg - January 9, 2012
That’s the sound a douche makes…
Get over yourself dirt bag, steeler days are finished
LocalMan - January 9, 2012
Wow man, it has to suck to have your team lose in the playoffs and then be this bad at trying to troll your 4-12 rival. You are a joke.
rufio - January 9, 2012
Wow, it’s actually getting to this guy… It must be crushing to take this kind of flack when you’ve always assumed everyone else is hyper jealous of your teams success. They can’t handle it.
LocalMan - January 9, 2012
Well, the dumbass got spanked when he came over here. He’s not even a very good troll. Clearly talent level in Pittsburgh is falling across the board.
Off-the-Chain - January 9, 2012
He can almost make a full sentence. That makes him the smartest Steeler fan of all.
Bernie19Kosar - January 9, 2012

You know, because he mad.
Bernie19Kosar - January 9, 2012
Dawg Nuts - January 9, 2012

Bernie19Kosar - January 9, 2012
He is actually accusing people over on BTSC of being closet DBN members and posting.
It’s comical.
Bernie19Kosar - January 9, 2012
So…they are systematically destroying their own fan base because they think they are us?
Off-the-Chain - January 9, 2012
Yeah, I saw that too. And that PaVa punk started calling his own guys bandwagon fans. Complete self destruction at BTSC.
Brownie's Year - January 9, 2012
Ironic because we were all assholes for believing they had bandwagon fans.
Bernie19Kosar - January 9, 2012
And he was one of the douches that was the most vocal on that.

Off-the-Chain - January 9, 2012
And they’re mad enough to come here as if we’re the reason they suck.
Brownie's Year - January 9, 2012
Well, we did knock their starting RB out of that game and we at least injured their QB enough that he had to fake limp on his highlighter-yellow ankle.
So yeah, we are a part of the reason they suck.
rufio - January 10, 2012
This is pure joy.
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2012

bross09 - January 10, 2012
And NTN made most of those guys look like complete boobs.
That John Stevens guy is still all bent out of shape over his “Ask a Steeler fan” thread. Again, incredibly ironic considering all I did was ask about Bandwagon fans, and what happens when they lose? They accuse each other of being bandwagon fans.
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2012
You asked a legitimate question and they flipped a shit.

furthur57 - January 9, 2012
You guys came here last week and started shit. I went to your lil’ site yesterday just to laugh in your stupid troll faces.
Brownie's Year - January 9, 2012
So you decided the best way to stop that is to troll back?
Bernie19Kosar - January 9, 2012
Who says I wanted it stopped?
You’re free to troll our site. I told my fellow BTSCers several times last night not to use the banhammer. I just think if guys like Brownie’s Year and mgtbfb want to come over I have the right to do the same. Personally I’m fine with you guys having a little Pittsburgh lost party over here. I get it. I do. You guys don’t have any victories of your own to celebrate, so you’re bitter and have to celebrate other guys losing. I learned all about that side of Cleveland fans when the Heat lost the NBA finals. I get it. You took it to our site though. So I figured I’d return the favor.
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
I did call Frank a loser only because he’s the biggest prick on your site. Other than that I only posted 3 pics and said nothing else. You guys were so mad at all fan bases that came by laughing at you, you started a banning spree. You weak pussies couldn’t take it.
Brownie's Year - January 9, 2012
Frank can be a bit of a prick, but someone actually made a death threat on our site against him last night. I’m not saying that was a DBNer, I don’t think it was, but forgive him for being a little edgy.
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
What happened to furthur56? Did he get banned and you came over to fill in?
Brownie's Year - January 9, 2012
He is the same guy. Tricky little devil…
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2012
I knew it was.
Brownie's Year - January 10, 2012
Wow, he is just out-witting us all over. Man, that guy is good!
rufio - January 10, 2012
He did get banned, but not denied.
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
that's the cool thing about numbers. They go on forever.
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
You are infinitely annoying.
HenryDawg - January 9, 2012
Then good sir, I have done my duty.
But I’ll go, for now. It would seem I have some bible reading to do. (Lost a bet with a Tebow fan). At least I get to start with the Old Testament. I am in an eye for eye kinda mood.
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
But just like Jesus, I'll return.
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
A lot like Herpes
HenryDawg - January 9, 2012
Don’t you mean Tebow?
Adrock2099 - January 9, 2012
Another Steeler/Heat/Yankees fan?
HenryDawg - January 9, 2012
nah, Steeler/Mets/Duke fan.
Live in NC, so that’s why Duke. Dad was a Met’s fan, so that’s why Mets. Always loved Defense. I became a Steelers fan the day they hired a young assistant coach from Marty Schottenheimer’s staff named Bill Cowher.
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
Thats kinda why we call Steeler fans bandwagon jumpers . . .
Les Fleurs Du Mal - January 9, 2012
I live in NC, we didn't have a team when I was a kid.
Sue me. If I was a bandwagon jumper, I coulda done a hell of a lot better than the Steelers in the early 90’s. The 49ers and the Cowboys were the dominant teams then. And in NC, you gotta pick a side between UNC and Duke. Of course you’d accuse anyone who roots for a winner a bandwagon jumper. You’ve never had the pleasure of rooting for one.
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
If you loved D so much then why not root for the Browns who had one of the best at the time?
HenryDawg - January 9, 2012
I honestly don't know, again I was a kid (like 12 or 13), and I really respected Schottenheimer. Still do.
When the Steelers hired Cowher, and that mean scowl of his, he honestly scared me at first, but I was intrigued. I like things that scare me. I’m a horror fan. Then when I watched the team that season and saw Greg Lloyd play, I was hooked. Been a loyal fan ever since.
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
.
Brownie's Year - January 9, 2012
Tell me something, Brownie. Do you hate the Steelers more than you love the Browns? I’d bet if I looked at your posting history I’d find more statements cursing my team than praising yours.
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
But then again, what is there to praise? Am I right?
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
Wow dude you are so good at this. Just. So. Good.
rufio - January 10, 2012
Not sure if you're being sincere or sarcastic, so I'll assume sincere and thank you for the compliment.
furthur57 - January 10, 2012
I am sooo totally sincere! Just the way you go about drumming up so much controversy and the way you made us so gosh dang mad, it was masterful! And not just like a little annoyed, but truly, deeply mad. I mean making fun of the Browns for not having won much? Who else thinks of that? Just so original. And it was like just right out there in plain sight but none of us really could get a handle on it or really put it into words, and the way you did was just, so, oh man it was just good.
rufio - January 10, 2012
You do have a point. . .
Calling out the Browns for losing has become a bit cliche’. I mean it has been done sooooo many times.
furthur57 - January 10, 2012
Wow, again, you just are so good at this. Browns fans are in touch with reality and understand that we haven’t been good in a long time, congratulations, you’ve proven your point…and mine.
rufio - January 10, 2012
So our fans have a sense of humor? How terrible. I guess you would prefer they wave around little dishrags?
HenryDawg - January 10, 2012
Thanks for the jersey picture, I haven’t seen it in awhile and it’s hilarious. Learn a lesson from browns fans and get a little more creative with your “humor.”
Dawg Nuts - January 10, 2012
Bandwagon fans apparently can’t comprehend history from the 90’s or pre – Chuck Noll.
SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2012
I don’t even talk about your team until you guys come here.
I love the Browns more than my actual home teams (A’s, Sharks, Warriors). I was raised a Browns fan. And I didn’t become a fan of a team because I liked the head coaches mustache. Your reason for Steeler fan hood is quite pathetic.
Brownie's Year - January 10, 2012
Yep, I liked the way Cowher looked, and then the way his team played, so I became a fan.
And even with the silly way I picked my team, I picked a better team than you did. I could have literally placed photos of every NFL team on a wall, threw a dart, and odds are, I would have picked a better team than you did. I mean really, for all the crap the NFL gives to Mike Brown and Al Davis, only one team (Detroit Lions) have lost more games over the past decade than your team.
furthur57 - January 10, 2012
It's actually hilarious.
Over the last decade, we’ve seen our team lose less often than you’ve seen your team win.
furthur57 - January 10, 2012
Dawg Nuts - January 10, 2012
ALLLLLLLLLL ABBBBBBOARD!!!
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2012
You don’t get it. I was born in to a tradition and follow it with pride and loyalty. You just picking a team (based on whatever reason) and calling yourself a true fan is an embarrassment to the real fans. How can you have respect for yourself by claiming Rings when you have no real connection to them? It’s easy to pick a good team to follow and that makes you a typical bandwagon douche.
Brownie's Year - January 10, 2012
So a guy is a bandwagon fan for picking a team when he was 12 and loyally sticking by them through thick and thin for 20 years? Just wanted to make sure I get your definition right so I can tell my fellow BTSCers just how stupid people over here really are.
furthur57 - January 10, 2012
Bandwagon fan.
furthur57 - January 10, 2012
haha.
You may not realize it, but you guys have been trolling our site for the last week on and off.
Then we heard one of our members got banned because your mods got your panties in a bunch because he posted like one pic of Ward crying…
boo hoo.
bross09 - January 9, 2012
the Rooneys may be classy, but that doesn’t stop you from being racist and saying that our comments you thought were instigating and ignorant proved that DBN was the “ghetto blog” of SBN.
Honestly, I may be an ass, but that kind of talk is out of line.
bross09 - January 9, 2012
Don’t you mean the Old Browns/Ravens were the first team to desegregate? Every team in the NFL was desegregated by the time you got your crappy expansion franchise.

furthur57 - January 9, 2012

You wouldn’t know anything about that would ya?
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
Wait, I thought history didn’t count? We have two more trophies than you, I wouldn’t bring that up.
notthatnoise - January 9, 2012
Oh right the history you got via
Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Case No. CV-95-297833
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
So we cared enough about our team to fight to keep our history. That’s supposed to be a bad thing?
notthatnoise - January 9, 2012
Not bad, just delusional. The team you have hasn’t won anything. The team you had did.
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
No, the team we have won 8 championships.
SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2012
Again, I repeat, delusional.
furthur57 - January 10, 2012
Delusional like say, calling the NFL wrong and yourself right? And please drop the rhetoric about a common pleas court holding the NFL by the short and curlies. Had they wanted to they could have appealed I’m sure.
North Coast Flea - January 10, 2012
So there you go......
The Cleveland Browns are the proud holders of 8 NFL Championships because the NFL didn’t want to appeal. I think we’ve finally found some common ground.
furthur57 - January 10, 2012
I like it when we can all agree on stuff.
furthur57 - January 10, 2012
The point is that the NFL wanted Cleveland’s history to stay in Cleveland or they would have fought it. If the biggest sports juggernaut in the country thought Baltimore somehow earned Cleveland’s history they would have made sure they got it. Simple concept.
North Coast Flea - January 10, 2012
Again, do you understand facts?
Because I think you don’t.
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2012
Again, I repeat, mindless troll.
Dawg Nuts - January 10, 2012
And the team you have hasn’t won anything.
notthatnoise - January 10, 2012
Count 'em, there's eight.
North Coast Flea - January 9, 2012
Yeah, those. The championships you won in a court case.
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
You mean the championships that the Cleveland Browns won playing football in Cleveland while the Steelers where the bottom feeders of the league in Pittsburgh. But in the end it’s whatever you have to tell yourself to sleep at night.
North Coast Flea - January 9, 2012
This is an accurate answer. I am pleased.
Les Fleurs Du Mal - January 9, 2012
That’s a 100% accurate statement except that the new Cleveland Browns aren’t the old Cleveland Browns. You keep saying it’s the same but it’s not the same. Ever watch the old Roseanne show?
https://encrypted-tbn1.google.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS17sjC-IEnZwi7IHGmO9G7fm5jKTHOMFxj0yHpuFWBZ5jw3xyj
Yeah, you keep telling yourself they’re the same.
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
Actually, Rosanne is perfectly applicable here. The real Becky (The Browns) was on the show(The NFL). Later she was replaced by Dr. Reed (The Ravens) Only to come back to the show later. The Browns came back to the league just like the real Becky came back to the show. Go ahead and keep telling yourself that the entire NFL is wrong and you are right though. It makes you seem so smart.
North Coast Flea - January 9, 2012
Hey, I thought I was supposed to be the troll!
The old becky did come back. The old browns didn’t. You took the new browns and called them the old browns because you got a court order allowing you to do so, but the “real Becky”, she’s in Baltimore, have fun with Dr. Reed.
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
North Coast Flea - January 9, 2012
How am I wrong?
Did the Browns not move away? Was the city not awarded the rights to the Cleveland Brown’s name and colors and the records of the team in Baltimore via Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Case No. CV-95-297833? Was not the City of Cleveland awarded an expansion team that they called the Cleveland Browns? The NFL isn’t wrong to do what the courts tell them to do. If a judge told me to say that the Cleveland Browns aren’t an expansion team and that the two different teams are the same team, I’d do it. It still wouldn’t be the truth.
furthur57 - January 9, 2012
Only thing that moved were players and coaches. Which moves all the time in the NFL. Colors didn’t move, history didn’t move.
SpecialBrownie - January 9, 2012
You guys do realize this guy is just trying to start a completely useless argument, right? He just doesn’t want to talk about getting Tebowed last night.
RyanBr - January 9, 2012

Dawg Nuts - January 9, 2012

rufio - January 10, 2012
Pot, meet Kettle. That’s all I really have to say about that. You’re aware you were banned from this site before for trolling, right? And now you’re going to come here and stand on your soap box? Save it.
notthatnoise - January 9, 2012
Typical Steeler fans, who needs facts when you can just make them up? In fact, I mentioned in the gamethread, you know when you guys were gagging against the Tebow’s, I said that I cannot condone trolling at BTSC. But again, don’t let facts stop you.
Well, you could just stop coming here. But, it seems like you hanging out with smart people. So, here you are. And I won’t ban you until you break our rules, plain and simple. Plus, I like having you around, makes me appreciate Browns fans.
The fact that these two sentences were back-to-back makes me laugh.
Welcome to the off-season, at least your defense isn’t an ancient collection of has-beens and criminals. You have a great young CB and Defensive Line… Oh wait, that’s us.
Buuuuu-bye.

Bernie19Kosar - January 9, 2012
i love this gif. does anyone even get the meaning behind it?
pwndabear - January 9, 2012
It’s from an online flash game called Pandemic, where you try to infect the world with a deadly disease. Madagascar, however, almost always is impossible to infect because they close their borders pretty much instantly, meaning you fail the game. Here’s the game itself: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/360724
Off-the-Chain - January 9, 2012
haha. I love that game. can never get madagascar.
bross09 - January 9, 2012
I got it one time. I was way too proud of myself.
Off-the-Chain - January 9, 2012
i got madagascar once. i found you have to take the slowest infection and just let time go by with almost nothing happening until you get enough evolution points to give it to rats on boats and then as SOON as madagascar gets pwnt you just explode.
pwndabear - January 9, 2012
I got it twice…but one of those times I still lost.
bross09 - January 9, 2012
So far I’ve played it twice. Both times I’ve started out in Madagascar. Cuba and Japan are being a bitch.
North Coast Flea - January 9, 2012
The islands are always annoying.
Off-the-Chain - January 9, 2012
Ended up killing off everyone but those two.
North Coast Flea - January 9, 2012
It takes some doing. My roomates and I spent a lot of time a few years ago trying to infect the world instead of writing lab reports. Time well spent.
Off-the-Chain - January 9, 2012
The secret is to not add any symptoms to your disease. Just let it gradually infect everyone, and then start adding symptoms.
notthatnoise - January 9, 2012
I love how everyone is an expert at this game. Clearly we all had some really boring college classes.
Doc's Kid - January 9, 2012
It got me through my non-major, required courses!

Such cry babies over at the tin curtain thread… talking about Baltimore being their “real” rival.
Like we should be hurt for not having the honor of them thinking we are their rivals. Poor us… what a bunch of douche bags. Trying to find something to hang on to to make it hurt less. Weak
steeler days are finished

I think goal #1 for the Browns next year is to beat the steelers. It just feels too damn good to see them lose. We had our shots this year… gotta seal the deal next season.
LocalMan - January 9, 2012
Ah Facebook;
Guy I went to school with: (Status) I see cowboys, dolphins,Oakland fans running their mouths..nope didn’t see you in the playoffs..looks like I’ll be following penguins hockey
Some random female Troll: What’s even better is the browns fans running their mouths! Lmao….. Please they can check back when they actually play in the Super Bowl. :)
(Queue the rallying cry of all Steeler fans)
Guy: There’s a browns fan here telling me they were 9x world champs back in the 40s-50s ya back before the super bowl was invented so it don’t count
Troll: The Browns were the shit back before the merger. I can’t deny that. But since then…. Haven’t been to the playoffs since 2002. Got to the championship game 3 times but lost to the Broncos all 3 times!! And wooohooo the 40s-50s! REALLY!!! That was 60-70 years ago!!! They can’t step it up now….. Sucks to be them!
Me: Yeah it sucks so bad to be 8 time world champs.
Troll: 60-70 years ago before the merger that is now the NFL. Since then the Browns have not done a God Damn thing. They are an embarrassment. Get the hell over it. The Browns are a joke.
Me: A joke like how it took the Steelers 15 years of winning every game to catch up to us in the all time win-loss record? A joke like having a rapist and a wife-beater as the faces of your team? Or a joke like having those things and still trying to call said organization classy even with said douchebags? Or even funniest of all: Is it a joke like losing in the playoffs to a 1st year starter who put up less than 50% comp.? I remember when you guys were a joke, get over yourselves Pittsburgh fans. But then again I guess I would be embarrassed to if I followed a team that didn’t do jack for their first 40 years in the league.
Troll: It’s ok…… You keep telling yourself that mistake by the lake is something to be proud of.
Me: And you keep telling yourself that rape, wife beating, and clearly breaking the rules and whining about being punished are things to be proud of
North Coast Flea - January 9, 2012
This is pathetic… So you don’t count a championship because they changed the name and you have no sense of history? I guess it makes sense because of how bad they were back in the day.
I bet if the NFL changed the name of the Super Bowl to the TacoBell.com Bowl they would still count their titles. Babies
LocalMan - January 9, 2012
Pretty much.
North Coast Flea - January 9, 2012
the championship was actually maybe harder to win back in the day too. No playoffs, no HFA based on record. 1 game, HFA was random.
bross09 - January 9, 2012
I can’t wait until Geico buys the naming rights to the Super Bowl and names it the “G Cup” of something stupid.
I will then tell the Steeler fans that they have won jack shit and point them back to their shanties.
Bernie19Kosar - January 9, 2012
the best part is when over at BTSC they tried to say that championships before the SB don’t count, I just started throwing out HOFers like Sammy Baugh and Don Hutson and be like “how about these guys. I guess nothing they did counts either”.
Also, love your responses to the troll.
bross09 - January 9, 2012
Continued;
Troll: Really….. Just like a browns fan to throw all the off field stuff up. As far as breaking the rules remember the game the pissy browns fans thru trash and glass bottles on the field cause they got embarrassed? Never seen our fans do that! Their personal lives don’t affect me. I don’t agree with it but I’m not the owner or the league powers that be. I’m a STEELERS fan. I love FOOTBALL. Get Over It
Me: Wow, first of all, I bet you’ve also never had the refs illegally take the ball away from you, ending your playoff hopes, by reviewing a play AFTER another play was already ran. For all the whining Steelers fans do about the refs and the Commish being “against” them, they always seem to forget that part. Second of all they were PLASTIC bottles. I find it funny that you cry about Browns fans bringing up off the field stuff then go on to bring up something that has nothing to do with the team itself or the Owners at all. Learn your history before you talk about it at least please. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_McAulay#.22Bottlegate.22_incident

Lots of news today: Romeo!!!
How about Mary Kay’s column on who the Browns might draft?! Texas A&M QB?
Red-Right-88 - January 9, 2012
Ryan Tannehill. Odd that you mention that, because I was about to link up the story. Apparently right now Tannehill is the 3rd QB. I wonder if he would be available with our second 1st rounder. I haven’t watched him really, but how would the more knowledgeable feel about Blackmon + Tannehill?
emily522 - January 9, 2012
That is my big question. If we pass on RG3 at #4, who would be available at #22. Miami, Jacksonville, and Washington are among the top people I see reaching for a QB. If one of these trades up for RG3 before our pick, then one of the other highly rated QB’s should be there at 22. Keenum, Tannehill, Coles…
Kimble_79 - January 9, 2012
Foles looks like this years Gabbert, big strong terrible accuracy.
HenryDawg - January 9, 2012
Lol, just noticed I typed Coles, sorry.
Kimble_79 - January 9, 2012
The question, of course, is how many potential impact quarterbacks are actually out there this year besides Luck and RG3.
woodsmeister - January 9, 2012
maybe 1-2. Tannehill has that potential but is super raw. I think Cousins could be that guy too.
bross09 - January 9, 2012
How much of Cousins looking good is having BJ Cunningham to throw to? I’d love to see Cunningham in brown and orange next year if we can’t get Blackmon.
woodsmeister - January 9, 2012
Cunningham is really good, definitely. Cousins was good though before Cunningham had this incredible season.
bross09 - January 9, 2012
Keenum in the 1st round? Really?
emily522 - January 9, 2012
Its very early, any or all of these guys (save Luck and RG3) could fluctuate all over the place before April. Guess I’m saying that once your outside of the two mentioned above, its hard to say when/where they may go until it gets closer to April
Kimble_79 - January 9, 2012
I was a bit shocked at the way QBs were flying off the shelf in this last draft.
JustBob - January 9, 2012
Meh. Typical system QB.
Brownie's Year - January 9, 2012
Most likely. Just surprised that Kimble was entertaining the thought of him at 22. Then again, I was surprised that Ponder and Locker went so high last year.
This QB class appears to be very deep though.
emily522 - January 9, 2012
Houston reminds me of a Boise St, Texas Tech, OK State, ect. type team. Those QBs are worthless.
Brownie's Year - January 9, 2012
Boise is actually somewhat pro-style in their multiplicity. Houston is Texas Tech.
rufio - January 10, 2012
How about Boise State 6 years ago?
Brownie's Year - January 10, 2012
Fair.
rufio - January 10, 2012
drafttek QB rankings
CBSSports QB rankings
Walter Football QB rankings
Take them for what they are worth right now, but here are some of the QB rankings from different sites. Again, guys will fall/climb as April approaches.
Kimble_79 - January 9, 2012
Cousins kind of intrigues me. Doesn’t he run a pro style at MSU?
emily522 - January 9, 2012
yes. He could be a very good QB in the NFL if he has the right pieces around him.
bross09 - January 9, 2012
That’s what we say about Colt
HenryDawg - January 9, 2012
He also has a better arm, experience in a more pro style, etc…
bross09 - January 10, 2012
Yes but I think he is a terrible pro prospect.
rufio - January 10, 2012
I still like Nick Foles.
Adrock2099 - January 9, 2012
If you think Colt is small and was made out of a “spread” (say that in your best Todd Blacklidge) system, just wait for Keenum!
rufio - January 10, 2012
Based on what I’m reading about the draft, I’m beginning to doubt that Blackmon would be available for us at #4, with both St. Louis and Minnesota picking ahead of us.
woodsmeister - January 9, 2012
Barring someone (either us or someone right below us) giving up a whole hell of a lot to move up and draft RG3, Kalil and Blackmon are going 2 and 3.
Adrock2099 - January 9, 2012
Possibly Claiborne, both those teams are really bad in the secondary and he’s a stud.
HenryDawg - January 9, 2012
Dude looks awesome, but I just don’t see either of them taking him top three when you have a game changing WR and a franchise LT to pick from.
Adrock2099 - January 9, 2012
I agree. Tackles are always in demand and Blackmon is something both the Rams and the Vikings need. Rams won’t take a QB (most-likely), so it seems they’ll probably take Blackmon. I haven’t paid much attention to either’s O-lines. Do either Minn and St. Louis need help at that position?
Off-the-Chain - January 9, 2012
I like Tannehill, his big knock is that he hasn’t played QB very long. He’s tall, good arm, accurate, smart, team player who played WR so we have to assume he’s got some speed and athleticism. Despite not playing QB very long he learned Sherman’s pro style offense quickly. Also Sherman is a potential OC here so that would almost be a sure thing. He projected as a 2nd rounder but he’ll probably move up. I saw one draft having the Redskins taking him at 6(!)
Also in other big news: Marty is getting interviewed in Tampa. He was the guy I hoped so bad we would re-hire when RAC was fired. It was another reason I resented Mangini.
HenryDawg - January 9, 2012
I am not taking a guy who has that little experience at QB in the first.
bross09 - January 9, 2012
And he’s going to need a walker in about three years.
Off-the-Chain - January 9, 2012
I know he’s old but what about Brandon Wheedon (with Blackmon)?
HenryDawg - January 9, 2012
The big knock against him is he is old. Where is Weeden even projected to go at this point?
Off-the-Chain - January 9, 2012
I mean, what round are more knowledgeable people hearing?
Off-the-Chain - January 9, 2012
Mid to late 1st. I’ve seen some mocks with him going to Seattle at #11.
Brownie's Year - January 9, 2012
That’s a bit too high for him, imo. Is he worth a first round pick with all the other areas we need help on offense?
Off-the-Chain - January 9, 2012
I don’t want him in any round.
Brownie's Year - January 9, 2012
That sounds good to me.
Off-the-Chain - January 9, 2012
I agree.
Kimble_79 - January 9, 2012
what the hell? That mock was WAY off, I saw it too. most I have seen have him early 3rd but maybe climbing to the late 2nd.
bross09 - January 9, 2012
I forget which ones. There was like 3-4 of them. Then again some mocks proly just copy others.
Brownie's Year - January 9, 2012
one of them that someone here posted on here.
bross09 - January 9, 2012
What!? No way he goes that high.
rufio - January 10, 2012
3rd or later.
Bernie19Kosar - January 9, 2012
As a later round guy, sure. He isn’t just a little old, he’s going to be 29 next season.
rufio - January 10, 2012
He will be available with our second 1st rounder, but only because there aren’t a lot of elite QBs anymore in this draft.
bross09 - January 9, 2012
I am not extremely high on Tannehill, but he’s raw. I would really love to see him throw in a combine setting. I think his arm is weak, he’s far from a polished product, but he’s athletic. I could be swayed.
rufio - January 10, 2012
He kind of reminds me (in how raw he is, plus the athleticism) to Colin Kaepernick.
bross09 - January 10, 2012
I can see that. And at least Tannehill didn’t run a “spread to run” offense or any sort of hybrid of one.
rufio - January 10, 2012
bross09 - January 10, 2012
Much different.
rufio - January 10, 2012
Yeah I’ve read that he’s raw, as other have pointed out. Sounds like kind a risk?
emily522 - January 10, 2012
I mean, isn’t any quarterback drafted with any sort of hope that he can become your guy? He’s no Luck, that’s for sure.
rufio - January 10, 2012
If Sherman ends up as our OC there would be some continuity there.
HenryDawg - January 10, 2012
I trust MKC exactly “not at all” for anything related to the draft.
rufio - January 10, 2012
Steeler Fans…. THey are all crying how Harrison was being held and the Steelers always being UNFAIRLY penalized. REFS seem to always steal the game from the Steelers. They are crying like pussies. Pittsburgh is on its way down, you can see it. They were never the class of a weak weak weak AFC this year. Pittsburgh the door is closing on you and with in 3 years they will be looking up at us.
