Can Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos do it again? After stunning the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, the Broncos could fall back to reality this week. They had a lot of things in their favor against Pittsburgh (several defensive players out, poor gameplan, being in Denver despite having a worse record, etc), but they won't have those things in their favor against New England. Tom Brady will have no problems beating Denver's defense through the air, and the Patriots are going to force the Broncos to run the ball until they make a mistake. Patriots win by a couple of possessions, just like the last time these two teams met.

The Licensed Optimist - January 14, 2012
Can you enlighten on the twitter follow button embed?
Kosar19 - January 14, 2012
Second…just like ’86, ’87, ’89.
Kosar19 - January 14, 2012
Well after that, I won’t be shocked if Denver wins this.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
hahahahahah
emily522 - January 14, 2012
Easy
Irish Brown - January 14, 2012
I hate that that was the most appropriate response you could have made.
jlsclarity - January 14, 2012
That was fast.
kingcrimson2 - January 14, 2012
Vernon Davis isnt a very humble man.
jlsclarity - January 14, 2012
What did he say?
kingcrimson2 - January 14, 2012
Something about taking the team on his back and having to do it himself.
jlsclarity - January 14, 2012
I want winners on my team.
Legoman0721 - January 14, 2012 via Android app
me too.
jlsclarity - January 14, 2012
Methinks you missed the joke.
TheDriveStillHurts - January 14, 2012
rec for “methinks”
Dawg Nuts - January 14, 2012
Ohhhh Timmy.
kingcrimson2 - January 14, 2012
Bad Tim.
notthatnoise - January 14, 2012
Huh?
emily522 - January 14, 2012
He just fumbled.
notthatnoise - January 14, 2012
Why can’t I find this on TV?
emily522 - January 14, 2012
Found it. Just kidding.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
I think the Patriots are gonna unleash hell in this one.
Dawg Nuts - January 14, 2012
I hope not. I don’t like Tom Brady.
notthatnoise - January 14, 2012
But I suspect you’re right.
notthatnoise - January 14, 2012
If the Pats go up by more than 14 pts, I’ll turn this off until the 4th Qtr.
kingcrimson2 - January 14, 2012
I’m torn. I don’t like Brady or the Pats. But the Broncos… the drive… idk.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
Elways deep down hates Tebow and Bellichick was a terrible coach when he was here (then some how figures out how to coach, gets good players and wins superbowls). I have no problem cheering for today Denver Broncos errr Tebows.
kingcrimson2 - January 14, 2012
Figured out how to coach = fell ass backwards into Tom Brady
HenryDawg - January 14, 2012
Mostly. And that he didn’t have Eric Metcalf to run up the middle.
kingcrimson2 - January 14, 2012
And started cheating
Doc's Kid - January 14, 2012
Even as someone who was around for the Drive, I don’t really have a lot of hatred for the Broncos. John Elway is a douche, but that’s about as far as it goes for me. I try to reserve my bitter hatred for the Squealers.
Dawg Nuts - January 14, 2012
I wasn’t alive for the Drive. I just feel kind of obligated to dislike the Broncos.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
Remember this?
emily522 - January 14, 2012
You jinxed jesus.
Simmsinns - January 14, 2012
Broncos fans are paying dearly for their false prophecy. Praise Joe Thomas!
Dawg Nuts - January 14, 2012
JT is god. Tebow is jesus. There is a drastic difference.
Simmsinns - January 14, 2012
Ozzy looked as bizarre as I’ve ever since on that last commercial.
kingcrimson2 - January 14, 2012
I like Brady. But, I’m a Michigan fan too
RyanBr - January 14, 2012
Get out.
macdowellm03 - January 14, 2012
Damn that catch.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
He dropped it. Not so much a great defensive play.
kingcrimson2 - January 14, 2012
Simms still sour Tebow turned him down and he had to go to Big Ben last week for a bj.
kingcrimson2 - January 14, 2012
Oh, Phil Simms. Got it.
Dawg Nuts - January 14, 2012
Oh snap!
emily522 - January 14, 2012
Will Tom Brady scream at his coach now?
emily522 - January 14, 2012
hope so
kingcrimson2 - January 14, 2012
Eric Decker out?
kingcrimson2 - January 14, 2012
McGahee.
jlsclarity - January 14, 2012
Giddyup.
Kosar19 - January 14, 2012
McGahee looks spry. Unbelievable.
kingcrimson2 - January 14, 2012
Damn it. Fell asleep during the 3rd quarter of the last game. Missed everything.
Brownie's Year - January 14, 2012
When did Aaron Hernandez turn into a monster running back?
Legoman0721 - January 14, 2012 via Android app
New England’s strong blocking sets up everything else for them. Time. Dont tell me Colt couldnt work with 5-7 seconds consistently.
jlsclarity - January 14, 2012
No one gets 5 seconds consistently. Few get it ever. No one gets seven seconds ever.
notthatnoise - January 14, 2012
mmmm. I just watched Drew Brees file his nails while downloading an iphone app back there. 5 seconds happens. Regardless, my point was that Brady is getting plenty of time – which sets up everything they do with Gronk.
jlsclarity - January 14, 2012
5 seconds happens, just rarely. Seriously, it feels like a long time, but you should actually count the seconds.
notthatnoise - January 14, 2012
Put Quinn in!emily522 - January 14, 2012
Yeah this game’s over
BuenosAires_Dawg - January 14, 2012
Denver never had a chance to begin with.
Brownie's Year - January 14, 2012
How bad must pittsburgh fans feel right now.
notthatnoise - January 14, 2012
Who cares how they feel.
Brownie's Year - January 14, 2012
:)
Brownie's Year - January 14, 2012
We all know they don’t have feelings.
Legoman0721 - January 14, 2012 via Android app
I hope awful.
Dawg Nuts - January 14, 2012
I mean: “But everyone was injured!”
No, I mean: “The refs screwed us.”
No, no, I mean: “We have 6 and yinz have nun!!!!!!!1”
Dawg Nuts - January 14, 2012
Yeah, the bright spot of this boring ugly ass game is knowing that it makes the Steelers look like complete shit.
Simmsinns - January 14, 2012
This is the offense you get with Tebow. Option crap.
That’s why you can’t go forward with him as a QB. You have to play NCAA level offense which may work against half-injured teams like shittsburgh and Chicago, but not in the playoffs against the best teams in the league.
The Licensed Pessimist - January 14, 2012
Also interesting to not this is the first team he’s had to face twice.
notthatnoise - January 14, 2012
He beat Pittsburgh, and that’s all I care about right now.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
This.
The Licensed Optimist - January 14, 2012
But I agree. Like I said, I think he’s a good guy, but even after last week I thought there were still questions about his ability. His long range throws are good but anything else is still really rough.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
I love the announcers trying to defend that offensive pass interference.
notthatnoise - January 14, 2012
People upstairs: “Dammit, Ball!” “Dammit, Thomas!”
emily522 - January 14, 2012
This is pathetic
Brownie's Year - January 14, 2012
lol at Pukesburgh fans right now
kingcrimson2 - January 14, 2012
A massacre.
Irish Brown - January 14, 2012
Look at the zip from Brady’s balls. I’m convinced we won’t be successful until we get a QB that can throw with an NFL level arm
The Licensed Pessimist - January 14, 2012
This.
Dawg Nuts - January 14, 2012
Look at Brady’s balls. I’m convinced we won’t be successful until we get Brady’s balls.
Simmsinns - January 14, 2012
hehe
BuenosAires_Dawg - January 14, 2012
Doesn’t Gisele have Brady’s balls?
macdowellm03 - January 14, 2012
No, they’re currently on Jim Nantz’ chin.
Dawg Nuts - January 14, 2012
She’ll have to go beat his ass for trying to steal her man.
macdowellm03 - January 14, 2012
zzzzzzz
emily522 - January 14, 2012
Elway is secretly thrilled.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
You know it.
kingcrimson2 - January 14, 2012
So am I.
notthatnoise - January 14, 2012
wat
Simmsinns - January 14, 2012
I get the impression that Elway doesn’t want Tebow as the long term QB.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
Worth giving up a run at the SB? Unless it was sarcasm that I missed, in which case, my bad.
Simmsinns - January 14, 2012
Point taken about Super Bowl, but if they want a new QB, how do you justify that if you get to the Super Bowl with Tebow?
emily522 - January 14, 2012
If you get to the SB with Tebow you don’t need to justify that.
Simmsinns - January 14, 2012
So maybe thrilled was the wrong word. But I don’t think Elway wanted Tebow long term. (Obviously I’m not in the FO, but it’s a vibe I get.) This is the out for them; that’s all I’m saying.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
I just don’t see Elway happy about losing a divisional playoff game. That’s completely insane to me.
Simmsinns - January 14, 2012
Will NE put in Mallett now.
Irish Brown - January 14, 2012
If BQ comes in, I will laugh so hard.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
Yes!!!
kingcrimson2 - January 14, 2012
I don’t think they can do that at this point. The entire offense is built around Tebow now.
notthatnoise - January 14, 2012
True.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
Good point. I wonder do they even have a plan for if Tebow got injured. No one could run that crap offense but tebow
The Licensed Pessimist - January 14, 2012
How does Shannon Sharpe hold a job where he is required to speak?
kingcrimson2 - January 14, 2012
yo, Denver, how about passing the football?
BuenosAires_Dawg - January 14, 2012
Awesome tweet: “I hope Skip Bayless enjoys his last day of relevance on Monday.”
emily522 - January 14, 2012
That show sucks anyways. It should be called the Tebow and Romo show.
Brownie's Year - January 14, 2012
For the first time in my life, last week I met someone in real life that watches that show. But he’s a Michigan fan so I’m not sure he counts as a person.
Legoman0721 - January 14, 2012 via Android app
The Patriots may be like the Colts in ‘06-’07, when their defense was laughable all season long and then unbeatable on the way to a SB win.
Dawg Nuts - January 14, 2012
Pathetic
emily522 - January 14, 2012
Tom Brady is good at football.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
meh
Brownie's Year - January 14, 2012
My girlfriend (who doesn’t really know football and is a Broncos fan): “Tebow is good but he gets no help.”
Me: “What.”
Her: “He can throw the ball but someone keeps calling bad plays.”
Doc's Kid - January 14, 2012
My condolences.
Dawg Nuts - January 14, 2012
The dropped passes and nonexistent defense don’t help either.
Simmsinns - January 14, 2012
The drops have been bad.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
His balls are wobbly turds. You can’t blame the WRs for dropping those horribly thrown balls
The Licensed Pessimist - January 14, 2012
A few have hit them right in the hands.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
Even if it hit them in the hands, it’s hard catching a fluttering ball that hits your hands sideways
The Licensed Pessimist - January 14, 2012
But the replay on that throw towards the end zone was a wounded duck.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
I winced watching that replay.
Doc's Kid - January 14, 2012
Unfortunately a lot of Coly’s throws looked like that too.
JustBob - January 14, 2012
:(
emily522 - January 14, 2012
If Tebow can change his throws from throwing like a 3 year old girl to throwing like a 6 year old girl, I’m sure McCoy can work to try and fix that.
macdowellm03 - January 14, 2012
Her again: “He has the capability, but it’s other players that aren’t near his level. How many people have dropped his passes that were perfectly thrown?”
Doc's Kid - January 14, 2012
Yell in her face “TEBOW SUCKS!” and watch her reaction.
Brownie's Year - January 14, 2012
Sounds like she might be talking about a certain Cleveland quarterback…
BuenosAires_Dawg - January 14, 2012
At least she knows about football to address dropped passes.
Simmsinns - January 14, 2012
I didn’t expect Denver to win, but I wasn’t expecting this much of a blowout either.
The Licensed Optimist - January 14, 2012
Tom Brady didn’t want to hear about this Tebow’d crap.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
TJ Ward: Shots fired!
emily522 - January 14, 2012
Throwing the ball is how they beat Pitt too.
Simmsinns - January 14, 2012
Completing 10 passes.
TheDriveStillHurts - January 15, 2012
316 yards.
Simmsinns - January 15, 2012
10 passes
The Licensed Pessimist - January 15, 2012
Yeah, if you press the “up” link you’ll see TDSH just pointed that out.
Simmsinns - January 15, 2012
Anyone happen to know how many of that 316 was YAC?
burntorangeandbrown - January 15, 2012
A lot — Pitt was stuffing the box and had little help in the secondary.
TheDriveStillHurts - January 15, 2012
10 passes
The Licensed Pessimist - January 15, 2012
316 yards.
Simmsinns - January 15, 2012
Ok Tebow is completely demoralized
macdowellm03 - January 14, 2012
Tebow? More like Teblow..
jpmxch - January 14, 2012
Oh boy.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
“BRADY, BRADY, BRADY!!”
macdowellm03 - January 14, 2012
Tebowed- To lose a late lead and fall to the Denver Broncos, lead by Tim Tebow
Bradied- To get your ass beat and have the game be over by halftime; the foil of Tebowed.
macdowellm03 - January 14, 2012
Not a good day for T-Piddy.
JustBob - January 14, 2012
Tebow is getting killed.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
He’s already slaughtered. Now they’re just violating the corpse.
JustBob - January 14, 2012
He’s going to get hurt soon.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
Yeah. Unfortunately for him, it’s either leave him in or throw in the towel. (BQ = throwing in the towel.)
JustBob - January 14, 2012
Graphic. Rec.
Dawg Nuts - January 14, 2012
lol Tebow
BuenosAires_Dawg - January 14, 2012
This game is stupid!
Brownie's Year - January 14, 2012
If they don’t put Mallett in after this TD I’m done watching.
Brownie's Year - January 14, 2012
I want to see BQ for some odd reason.
emily522 - January 14, 2012
It’s kind of like when you see a horrible car accident. You can’t help but to want to sneak a peek.
The Licensed Optimist - January 14, 2012
Suck age nostalgia.
JustBob - January 14, 2012
Seemed like Tebow got better protection last week than he’s getting tonight.
JustBob - January 14, 2012
New meaning to the term “Boston Massacre.”
macdowellm03 - January 14, 2012
Wow…guess if I wanted drama i’d be a wrestling fan. What a slaughterfest!
I’m actually kinda glad Brady killed them instead of making it look good. Clearly the pats have something to prove.
redCel - January 15, 2012 via mobile
Well, Im glad they advanced b/c they stand the much better chance of beating the ravens if they beat houston.
jonnyphoenix - January 15, 2012
I know I’ll get blasted for this, but I don’t mind if the Ravens win today for one simple reason: Texans fans were the worst of any I dealt with this season on SBN aside from Steelers fans. So a Ravens win, floowed by them getting their asses handed to them in NE next week would be okay with me.
Dawg Nuts - January 15, 2012
*followed
Dawg Nuts - January 15, 2012
I totally understand. I kind of cheered for the Texans before because they were stuck always behind the Colts, but after hearing some of their fans, I don’t want them back in playoffs again.
Doc's Kid - January 15, 2012
Well, its all elementary anyways…I dont see anyone stopping the pats…in the AFC, at least.
jonnyphoenix - January 15, 2012
"So, Tim, now you see that evil will aaaalways triumph…because good….is dumb."
jonnyphoenix - January 15, 2012
I have a thread up if anyone cares…
