After a Seneca Wallace interception, the Steelers drove down the field en route to an Isaac Redman touchdown run, giving Pittsburgh a 13-6 advantage. Cleveland then put together a drive similar to one in the first half -- with catches by Joshua Cribbs and a big run by Wallace -- to set up another field goal (49 yards) by Dawson. The Browns are down 13-9 heading into the final quarter (barring overtime) of the season.

Beat you SB
brownsboy14 - January 1, 2012
OH YOU’RE SO COOL.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Thanks. I get that a lot.
brownsboy14 - January 1, 2012
Not by a long shot.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
First?
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
And so I am dethroned
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
four-hundred-and-ninetieth?
Mr. Bad Example - January 1, 2012
Does this mean you’re not as cool now?
The Licensed Optimist - January 1, 2012
Why would Vick get Comeback Player of the Year this year?
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
He did?
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Alex Smith has got that one in his bag. He deserves it too
BuenosAires_Dawg - January 1, 2012
No way, DQ deserves it.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Like what DQ has done but I’d vote for Alex Smith
BuenosAires_Dawg - January 1, 2012
Breakout player. He’s impressed. Jimmy Harbaugh deserves a medal.
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
I could see why you think that, but DQ gets it in my book.
The Licensed Optimist - January 1, 2012
I don’t know, DQ has always produced, all the while Smith would probably be out of the NFL if not for this season.
The Licensed Pessimist - January 1, 2012
This is also true.
The Licensed Optimist - January 1, 2012
DQ missed two whole seasons.
Pennington always produced.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
I’m just saying I think it’s saying a lot more for a player who’s underachieved his entire career to lead of one the best teams in the NFL, compared to a player who’s played at a probowl level to continue that play after extended injury. The first senario is why the award was made in the first place
The Licensed Pessimist - January 1, 2012
You really think DQ was pro bowl level BEFORE the injury?
bross09 - January 1, 2012
Smith has never been anything good to come back from though. Why does he deserve something if he’s always underachieved?
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
But what has Alex Smith “comeback” from? He has always been terrible,
DQ missed two whole seasons and is borderline Pro Bowl player this season.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Say this again a little more slowly
The Licensed Pessimist - January 1, 2012
So, he’s never comeback from anything?
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
In order to comeback from something, you have to be there first.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
I agree with Bernie. Alex Smith just blows a little less. What DQ did is more note worthy. Also DQ is doing it on a garbage team
champion64 - January 1, 2012
This.
The Licensed Optimist - January 1, 2012
comeback=/=breakout
bross09 - January 1, 2012
“Comeback player of the year” does not translate to “comeback player of the year from injury”. Smith acquired the form that was expected from him when he was drafted. That is a comeback too.
BuenosAires_Dawg - January 1, 2012
No it’s not. You have to be something in the NFL in the first place. Comeback almost certainly means you were able to come back from injury.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Then why aren’t other “busts” considered for the award?
You have to be good before you can make a comeback. Being shitty isn’t an excuse.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Patterson is comeback player then.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Or Maybin?
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Ohhhh, Ryan Leaf.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
good one.
Peyton Hillis should have gotten it last year. He did jack shit his first few years in the league.
bross09 - January 1, 2012
exactly. He was considered horrifically awful in Philly.
bross09 - January 1, 2012
By this logic, should Arian Foster have gotten “comeback player” because he had an awesome year in 2010?
bross09 - January 1, 2012
Doesn’t make sense to me.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
I wondered the same thing. I was thinking, “what the hell?”
Chris Pokorny - January 1, 2012
yeah, wasn’t his comeback last year?
Mr. Bad Example - January 1, 2012
Yeah, I thought he had a much better year last season.
Simmsinns - January 1, 2012
I think the announcer made an error..
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
No, tell me you’re kidding.
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
victory thread.
Dawg Nuts - January 1, 2012
Losing sucks
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
We can still win this.
The Licensed Optimist - January 1, 2012
Maybe if we put Thad in, maybe he’s not allergic to the endzone.
North Coast Flea - January 1, 2012
I expect great thib.
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
I would love a comparison of holding calls against PIT and against their opponents.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
TLP considers it even and fair.
Dawg Nuts - January 1, 2012
Just like the commentative fellating.
North Coast Flea - January 1, 2012
There is no such thing as an argument against shittsburgh favoritism by the refs
The Licensed Pessimist - January 1, 2012
Rec this
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012

Dawg Nuts - January 1, 2012

The Licensed Optimist - January 1, 2012
Lets Go Brownies!
champion64 - January 1, 2012
woof woof
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
I’m so disgusted that DEN is going to get in the playoffs by virtue of an OAK loss.
Browns town - January 1, 2012
God will get his grandson in one way or the other.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
Is Little out?
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
He has to be, granted I haven’t listened to the whole game but I haven’t heard his name mentioned once.
The Licensed Optimist - January 1, 2012
I saw him go in motion once. And Hardesty was even in for a play!
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
He has been targeted twice.
johnf34 - January 1, 2012
98 passing yrds in the 4th? He/we suck.
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
Brett, you’re so cool because you wear hats of yourself.
Jesus Christ.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Barf.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
The announcers thought it was cool.
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
We really need a quarterback
champion64 - January 1, 2012
How many run plays has Murmer called today?
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
I’m sure he doesn’t know.
Brownie4ever - January 1, 2012
word
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
I don’t like criticizing constantly people who know much more than me.. but hasn’t the season proven that that play doesn’t ever come close to working on 3rd and middle distances?
johnf34 - January 1, 2012
I hate this “offense.”
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
but it is our system. We need to commit to it. Are you with us or against us?
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
It’s a process and we are battling
mgtbfb - January 1, 2012
If only we had a winner at the helm…
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
That’s my understanding of things.
Dawg Nuts - January 1, 2012
This game needs to hurry up. I wanna take a nap.
Brownie's Year - January 1, 2012
DQ is my homeboy.
Congrats to the biggest a-hole on 1000 grabs.
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
as many cheers as boos there….f’ing sad.
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
Hahaha, his record comes on a 3 yd loss
BuenosAires_Dawg - January 1, 2012
Fuck off Ward!
Brownie's Year - January 1, 2012
Why the hell would they put Hines Ward in the HOF?
Simmsinns - January 1, 2012
He’s next to Derek Fisher in the flopper HoF.
johnf34 - January 1, 2012
It bet Derek Fisher and Hines Ward would get along famously. Probably would be down is a threeway with Wilcots.
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
Wilcotts would definitely be the meat in the metaphorical sandwich.
Dawg Nuts - January 1, 2012
He was good and popular. I hate him.
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
If Hines Ward goes into the HOF before Cris Carter my head explodes on the giant orange juicer in Canton.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
Does he think he’s the man because he manipulated a play to get his 1,000th?
johnf34 - January 1, 2012
Why is PIT challenging?
The Licensed Optimist - January 1, 2012
Oh. We are challenging. Har.
The Licensed Optimist - January 1, 2012
They’re not.
Brownie's Year - January 1, 2012
How is it a “13-yard reception” if it was right in front of the first down marker?
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
They lost yardage on the Ward “catch”
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Oh, haha. Didn’t notice that.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
Defense. Force a freaking turnover for once please. You never force any.
johnf34 - January 1, 2012
Right on time!
Chris Pokorny - January 1, 2012
Say that more often.
The Licensed Optimist - January 1, 2012
Need more camera angles to see if it’s a catch or not.
Chris Pokorny - January 1, 2012
God if we had an average offense what would our record be?
Brownie4ever - January 1, 2012
And an average rush defense.
johnf34 - January 1, 2012
Turnover!
Brownie4ever - January 1, 2012
Nice coverage by Skrine though.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Seneca’s blown TO just screwed us
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012

emily522 - January 1, 2012
FUMBLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
champion64 - January 1, 2012
Gocong!
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
You finally changing your tune?
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
I want to see good football, I just want to see us finish with less points.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
No no, I meant on Gocong.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Oh, he has been awesome filling in for Fujita, In fact, I have no problem with cutting Fujita and letting Gocong fill that role next season.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Yep. SAM’s usually don’t need speed. WILL’s do, which is why it hurt Gocong in the first place.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
I thought when we started the season it seemed like we had 2 sams (Gocong/Fujita) and no true Will. If we had a WILL it was maiava.
bross09 - January 1, 2012
I like Fujita’s leadership. If anything bring him back and transition to a new guy.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
I wonder if Fuji would be cool with that.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
I think he would, he seems pretty comfortable in his role as elder statesman.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
WOO! TO and penalty!
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
FACEMASK!!!!!!!!!!!
champion64 - January 1, 2012

Adrock2099 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
FINALLY!!!
BayAreaDawg - January 1, 2012
YES!
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
Eric Hagg is becoming one of my favorite late-round picks.
The Licensed Optimist - January 1, 2012
Buster has been solid too
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
For the most part, I’m really impressed with our drafting the last two years.
The Licensed Optimist - January 1, 2012
Gocong’s had some big hits this year.
Brownie4ever - January 1, 2012
He has been awesome in Fujita’s spot.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Hagg was almost squeezed to death
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
great play
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
Sweeeet touch on that pass, Sheldy.
Adrock2099 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
nice facemask asshole.
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
Unleash it, Shurmur.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
Not going to be a popular comment, but Jordon Cameron is not going to be on the team next year.
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
Why is that? I’m thinking Watson has to retire after that many concussions?
Brownie4ever - January 1, 2012
What?
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
I don’t see it. I know, I know, he was hoops player. I don’t see much.
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
He’s still barely played football. He’ll get at least another year.
ahowie - January 1, 2012
No, I actually think he is a much bigger cog in this offense next season. Coaching staff seems to like him, he has gotten a lot of PT since Watson has gone down.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Maybe. He has a lot of improvement to go. I hope you’re right. I don’t mean to throw the guy under a truck.
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
Definitely a developmental guy
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
Why do you think that? He’s been decent from what we’ve seen, he was a draft pick and not a UDFA, and Watson is getting old and hurt.
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
He has hands like feet.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
QB Draw? That’s retarded.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Little get this TD, baby!
johnf34 - January 1, 2012
Yes!
emily522 - January 1, 2012
MoMass!!!
The Licensed Optimist - January 1, 2012
Come on, Shurmur. Dial up something interesting.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
Seriously, where is Little? Am I blind/deaf?
themadlibs - January 1, 2012
He was in there on that 3rd-down pass play.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
Maybe I should say, has he been targeted at all today?
themadlibs - January 1, 2012
LETS GO BROWNIES!!!!!!!!!!!!
champion64 - January 1, 2012
Hardesty? Really?
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
Peyton’s out with some sort of knee injury.
ahowie - January 1, 2012
fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
GREAT
emily522 - January 1, 2012
Oh no. The curseeeeeeeee
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
It looked like the Pittsburgh D called that offensive play. Sheesh.
ahowie - January 1, 2012
MoMass!
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
great, hillis is hurt again!
findlaybrownslover - January 1, 2012
enjoy your new team next year Hillis.
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
Yes, ran routes long enough to get past the first down marker.
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
I would rather see Obi
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
Yoy.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
UGH MO MASS DAMMIT
emily522 - January 1, 2012
AGH!
Brownie4ever - January 1, 2012
Another bad call but he has to catch that.
ahowie - January 1, 2012
call=throw
ahowie - January 1, 2012
MO MASS BLOWS
champion64 - January 1, 2012
No flag for the hit on MoMass?
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
Cribbs in the background like COME ON!
emily522 - January 1, 2012
Geez…the first thing out of their mouth is his “disappointing career”? Geez, just say he is having a bad season.
bross09 - January 1, 2012
I don’t know, for a second rounder he’s pretty disappointing.
Little has been quiet today.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
agreed
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
I dunno if it’s been “disappointing”. Considering the expectations he set with a good rookie year, sure. But he probably exceeded expectations there.
Point is, “disappointing career” is not a definite and is definitely up for debate. “disappointing season” is not. As an objective announcer, you should say the latter.
bross09 - January 1, 2012
In his third year you would expect him to be better, not being the second or third option after Little and Cribbs.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
a lot of that I believe has been due to injuries this year, but he definitely has been a disappointment this year.
that’s not the point. The point is that he definitively has had a disappointing year and there is no way you could be sane and debate that. Whether or not he has had a disappointing career for a late-2nd round pick is more unclear. If it isn’t an unclear point, an announcer shouldn’t say it like it’s fact.
bross09 - January 1, 2012
Ugh, Momass. You gotta catch that.
brownsboy14 - January 1, 2012
jeeeezzz momass!!! you suck
findlaybrownslover - January 1, 2012
Catch the rock
johnf34 - January 1, 2012
Goddamnit i’m done with MoMass.
Brownie4ever - January 1, 2012
ditto
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
Mo has to make that grab.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
OMG
Brownie's Year - January 1, 2012
They’re punting? COME ON.
The Licensed Optimist - January 1, 2012
well yeah. No way I go for it
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
I assume you have balls. Shummer, not so much…
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
Why? We’re not playing for much. Be aggressive.
The Licensed Optimist - January 1, 2012
Right, we lose, get a better draft pick.
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
Yuck.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
Bad throw, worse catch. Not a great punt, either.
Adrock2099 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
PIT starting on their 15 is fine with me.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
This team looks like they are not even in the NFL. It is like a different league – esp. the offense.
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
Do you not watch when we are on defense?
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
im thinking , no!
findlaybrownslover - January 1, 2012
D’s been good today. Still say their rankings are deceiving.
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
After 16 games, a duck is a duck.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Right. How many wins do we have?
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
You’re not a big picture guy I take it?
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
Wow.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
And yet they’re right in the game against one of the top three teams in the conference who still have something to play for…
ahowie - January 1, 2012
Totally not true, they’ve hung with our division in every game except 1 and that’s against 2, maybe 3 playoff teams and we’re the youngest one. We’ll get better.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
How many division wins?
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
Fail
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
How?
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
No, I am finally a “show me, don’t tell me” kinda guy. We have some nice pieces but after losing most our games the last 13 years vs. Pit and Bal, color me a little skeptical.
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
Yeah that sort of thinking is why we’ve sucked for the last 13 years.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
Meaning?
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
Meaning learn some patience. You don’t win Super Bowls just because you want to. You have to build teams over time.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
I guess a decade+ of waiting isn’t enough patience. I must be a bad Browns fan.
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
Like I said, you don’t see the big picture, just want results without any idea of how to get them and you’ll bitch and whine until you get them. That doesn’t help.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
Blind faith isn’t a good strategy for winning superbowls either, bub.
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
major, this!!
findlaybrownslover - January 1, 2012
Holding called on the Steelers? How did that happen?
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
bout time they called a hold on shittsburgh
findlaybrownslover - January 1, 2012
They’ll call 1 out of every 10.
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
It’s the once a game token call
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
We’re really bad at evaluating WRs.
Adrock2099 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Agreed.
Brownie4ever - January 1, 2012
Heckert thought Robiskie was gonna turn out to be real good in the WCO. You are correct.
Browns town - January 1, 2012
This is sarcasm right?
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
No. Heckert made comments a few weeks back about how he was disappointed and thought Robiskie was gonna do well.
Browns town - January 1, 2012
Oh I thought you meant he drafted him. I think everyone thought he would be a good WCO receiver. He wasn’t, it happens, we move on.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
sheard!!!!
findlaybrownslover - January 1, 2012
Here’s a positive comment: We have a damn good defense. Our run D has imprvoed too.

I’m loving Sheard. I need that jersey seriously.
Brownie4ever - January 1, 2012

ahowie - January 1, 2012
I like how they didn’t call an illegal cut on the O line. You can’t cut an LB blitzing from the LB position.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Bad throw there actually helped the Steelers. Cotchery had to come back for that pass, right into Skrine.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
He was covered. I guess a little too covered..
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
A bad throw would help them

brownsboy14 - January 1, 2012

JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
Could we please just get a TD?
emily522 - January 1, 2012
Phenomenal play by adams and young.
Adrock2099 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Young’s best play of they year?
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
WOOOOOOOOOOO
Brownie's Year - January 1, 2012
Hillis is back.
emily522 - January 1, 2012
Cribbs has been making some big catches today. Take him away and Wallace has no one.
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
wallace is noone!
findlaybrownslover - January 1, 2012
someone had to say it.
bross09 - January 1, 2012
Cribbs is not that bad of a WR
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
He is, but he’s been effective on them today.
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
Good defense by Momass
Adrock2099 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
MoMass just had a huge tackle. And Seneca is awful
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Every time we throw to the sideline it looks like it could be a pick 6. Cripes.
ahowie - January 1, 2012
It’s the one time where arm strength really plays a major role. Plus, Seneca throws those routes late, everytime.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Wallace stop throwing dumb passes. That should’ve been picked.
emily522 - January 1, 2012
That should have been offensive PI.
C’Mon Wallace.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Of course.
emily522 - January 1, 2012
And again Wallace sucks.
brownsboy14 - January 1, 2012
Yipes, Sen.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
That was bad..
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
Seneca sucks.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
I don’t even know if that’s seneca, that play just sucks. It screams INT
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
It’s clearly Seneca. The idiot throws it.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
I don’t think that play has any chance of success when you aren’t stretching the defense vertically.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
That play has no success when Seneca is throwing it. Why are you trying to defend this douche who sucks at football?
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Not at all, I’m just tired of seeing the same 3 yard out that has more of a chance at being intercepted than caught for a gain.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
Offense, why you gotta suck like that?
North Coast Flea - January 1, 2012
Back to back bad passes by Wallace. He’s lucky he only has 1 INT this game.
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
But I thought that Colt was the cause of all of our offensive problem?
mgtbfb - January 1, 2012
Straw man much?
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
Well both play the same position…so what are you trying to say?
ahowie - January 1, 2012
Goddam it I’m sick of these out passes that require a 25 yard pass to gain 2 yards.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
Please god let us get a QB that can make a few plays in a game.
Brownie4ever - January 1, 2012
Yipes again, Sen.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
Maynard for Pro Bowl.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
What a nutless coward Shurmur is.
You are 4 – 11 why are you punting?
mgtbfb - January 1, 2012
Because our best chance to score is to force a turnover deep in Pitt territory?
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Sadly I think you may be right
mgtbfb - January 1, 2012
ive been really impressed with Maiva as of late.
findlaybrownslover - January 1, 2012
OT – 8:40 left in the game and the Raiders are down 5
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
24 seconds left in Denver
emily522 - January 1, 2012
19 on the 49 yard line. 4th and 2.
emily522 - January 1, 2012
Tebow INT! Chiefs win!
emily522 - January 1, 2012
Now Oakland might come back…
emily522 - January 1, 2012
Jk, they blew it.
emily522 - January 1, 2012
So Denver gets in anyways?
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Yep. Oakland had to win. I’m just glad Orton won.
emily522 - January 1, 2012
I have a feeling that I’m going to have to wear a Steelers purse when I get back to Toledo. Fuck.
brownsboy14 - January 1, 2012
Idiot.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Yeah, I know. Being an honors student does nothing for common sense.
brownsboy14 - January 1, 2012
Well, at least we have a few ore chances to seriously injure Pig Ben.
That would be a nice consolation prize in a loss.
mgtbfb - January 1, 2012
Tebow INT to end it.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Too bad that didn’t cost them the playoffs.
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
Think of the bright side, now you can laugh at the people that said this about Denver’s earlier streak: “Why win? They ain’t making the playoffs!”
Simmsinns - January 1, 2012
6-22, 2.7 Y/A.
emily522 - January 1, 2012
That is truly atrocious.
ahowie - January 1, 2012
And the int.
emily522 - January 1, 2012
are those senecas stats??
findlaybrownslover - January 1, 2012
OMG HE’S SO GOOD
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
I don’t think we’ll be bad next year. The defense is good.
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
I don’t think one year is enough time to fix this mess of an offense
BuenosAires_Dawg - January 1, 2012
At least Shurmur’s already been fixed. He hasn’t had balls all season.
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
I don’t want a coach with “balls” that doesn’t mean a thing. I want a coach who plays the percentages.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
Actually, a coach with a feeling for the game is even better but that’s a lot to expect from a first year HC.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
4th down has good percentages.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
I agree, but we just got the ball back with decent field position and a chance to win.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
I wasn’t talking about this game in particular. It’s just been all season. He’s scared on 4th and 1. And once our season was already over, he still wouldn’t go for it even with nothing to lose.
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
I agree with that
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
4th and short does. sometimes the percentages and the balls overlap. Sometimes they don’t.
bross09 - January 1, 2012
True, I see us rounding into position in 3-4 years.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
Cincy’s loss looks assured. Down 8, 80 yards to go with 1 minute to play.
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
3rd and 10 for Cinncy
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
picked it up.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Down to the Balt 32 with 11 secs left.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
No subject lines.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
I sent myself a stern warning.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
you should!! lol
findlaybrownslover - January 1, 2012
They’re in with the Denver loss.
emily522 - January 1, 2012
Are Redman’s fumbles really the only things keeping PIT from “blowing the game open”???
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
I like to think our defense is helping
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
I don’t remember Franco Harris having THIS bad of fumbilitis.
bross09 - January 1, 2012
HADEN SUCKS!
emily522 - January 1, 2012
SO HARD!
North Coast Flea - January 1, 2012
Don’t throw on Joe.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
STOP SHOWBOATING JOE
Adrock2099 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Hahaha. They needed a TO coming out of the 2-minute warning.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
I one more chance. Can’t say I’m optimistic.
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
Why did they throw it? assholes!
BuenosAires_Dawg - January 1, 2012
Time to find a way.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
Well, we have a chance.
emily522 - January 1, 2012
Haden’s hurt and the announcers never say a word. Thanks for that.
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
Finally Haden makes a play!
Our defense doesn’t deserve this…they play fucking hard every week!!
redCel - January 1, 2012 via mobile
BAL wins.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
CIN in at #6.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
This is the part where the diabolical Steelers let us win to hurt our draft position because the game doesn’t matter anymore.
gentryholdem - January 1, 2012
Anyone want to say we haven’t improved? Look at last years season finale compared to this one. Case closed.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
Ohhhhh, so definitive.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
That’s true.
emily522 - January 1, 2012
Agreed. Now we get to see if Heckert can draft offense.
gentryholdem - January 1, 2012
Look at Philly. He can.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Seriously. Who’d of thought we’d be as good on D as we are.
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
By the way, Evan Moore just suffered another concussion. Still playing
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Loked realy obvious. Frozen field.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
A few years from now, when we’re relishing our Super Bowl, we’ll look back on these seasons and who our WRs ,TEs and RBs were in shock and awe that we won any games.
themadlibs - January 1, 2012
To hell with the draft. Win! F the Steelers!
Brownie4ever - January 1, 2012
cribbs!
emily522 - January 1, 2012
Reel it in, Cribbs.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
Cribbs is an absolute warrior.
ahowie - January 1, 2012
buuuuuuuuuuuuuh I hate ineptitude.
Simmsinns - January 1, 2012
WE need recievers over RG3
brownsboy14 - January 1, 2012
false.
Dawg Nuts - January 1, 2012
Truth. See…I say it last and make it true.
redCel - January 1, 2012 via mobile
false.
Dawg Nuts - January 1, 2012
We need both.
Brownie4ever - January 1, 2012
I’m not opposed to drafting Blackmon.
Simmsinns - January 1, 2012
No.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Wrong
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
This is the grandeur of our two minute drill
BuenosAires_Dawg - January 1, 2012
MoMass is chit.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
So many drops
jpmxch - January 1, 2012
Mitchel Sighting
brownsboy14 - January 1, 2012
ahhhh
emily522 - January 1, 2012
Nice.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012

findlaybrownslover - January 1, 2012
Carlton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dawg Nuts - January 1, 2012
No run?
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
CARLTON MITCHELLLLLL
Adrock2099 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
Yay he knows how to spike it.
North Coast Flea - January 1, 2012
i think its all he knows how to do well
findlaybrownslover - January 1, 2012
Mitchell with his 3rd catch on the season. WE HAVE SO MANY OFFENSIVE WEAPONS
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
This was way too funny.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Took 5 seconds off not going down.
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
they scared
North Coast Flea - January 1, 2012
At least Sen didn’t call a run play there.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
What’s his average?
Simmsinns - January 1, 2012
Why is it that we never have any timeouts left late in games?
kennesawmountainwahoo - January 1, 2012
Because Wallace needs to call them since he can’t read defenses
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
Seemed like the same thing when McCoy was QB – never any TO’s left.
kennesawmountainwahoo - January 1, 2012
How does Carlton magically get open???
jpmxch - January 1, 2012
Can we get a last minute win for once?
emily522 - January 1, 2012
Colt used our last minute win already.
jpmxch - January 1, 2012
Will Wallace call a run play soon?
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
Well one more play.
emily522 - January 1, 2012
Bollocks.
ahowie - January 1, 2012
Let’s go Wallace
brownsboy14 - January 1, 2012
Of course, they rave about the tackle rather than the first down.
Dawg Nuts - January 1, 2012
There was no first down
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Yes there was, but the tackle was the bigger play.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
It was 2nd and 10 apparently
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
2nd and 10 due to the spike on 1st down.
Dawg Nuts - January 1, 2012
Cause Seneca spiked it?
Browns town - January 1, 2012
This is so fun. C’mon Browns.
Brownie4ever - January 1, 2012
Gotta go to Cribbs
ahowie - January 1, 2012
Steelers just saved us from a delay of game
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Not really, but I’ll take it.
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
THEY’RE FUCKING SCARED!!
North Coast Flea - January 1, 2012
Can’t believe Cincy and Denver both lose and are going to make it to the postseason.
Chris Pokorny - January 1, 2012
Backing in.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
I can’t remember the last time 3 teams from a division made the playoffs!
jpmxch - January 1, 2012
SO CLOSE
emily522 - January 1, 2012
Ahhhhh so close
Brownie4ever - January 1, 2012
WAWAAAAAAAAA!!!
findlaybrownslover - January 1, 2012
Who gets the 4th pick? Us or Tampa Bay?
gentryholdem - January 1, 2012
Great game out of the Brownies. A lot to be happy about going into next season.
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
I agree, I’m stoked for the future. It may take a couple more drafts but we’re getting there.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
Our defense deserves a win. They play their asses off.
Brownie4ever - January 1, 2012
That sucks.
Dawg Nuts - January 1, 2012
Need to send RGIII his jersey in the mail.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Before drafting him we need to be sure that he’s mastered throwing the two yard out on 3rd and 10
mgtbfb - January 1, 2012
Actually I was wondering if he could throw shorter touch passes and after watching their bowl game, he did it all night long.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
FUCK
Simmsinns - January 1, 2012
You’ll be happy next season
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Assuming our draft pick is good enough to not let this organization break him.
Simmsinns - January 1, 2012
There’s nothing wrong with this organization.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
And we actually looked better against the Steelers both times this year than last year.
emily522 - January 1, 2012
held them to 27 total points. Then again, we only scored 12…
bross09 - January 1, 2012
Assuming our draft pick is good enough to not let this [fill in Browns hire here] break him.
Simmsinns - January 1, 2012
Interesting point, in that you probably mean Shurmur. I hear some people say the offense is so complicated it takes at least 3 years to learn. I hear others saying its so vanilla and simple its easy to defend. I have no idea which is true but I would believe either of them.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
It doesn’t have to be Shurmur, anyone we’ve hired in the past 12 years.
Simmsinns - January 1, 2012
Oh well. We played hard and kept it close.
emily522 - January 1, 2012
And he dropped it. And I’m going to have to wear a purse. A steelers purse. FUCK
brownsboy14 - January 1, 2012
The moral is don’t make stupid bets.
North Coast Flea - January 1, 2012
yeah, lesson learned.
brownsboy14 - January 1, 2012
Oh Well, we’ll have a nice pick this draft and I like how we’ve kept it close against PITT both games this year. I really like our chances at being good next season.
North Coast Flea - January 1, 2012
Game over. For those that wanted draft position you got it. For everyone else, we “battled.”
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
That’s my understanding of things.
Dawg Nuts - January 1, 2012
Actually, I wanted us to look respectable and fight. I don’t like wishing we’d lose. But the fact is that draft position DOES matter. It’s the difference between getting Blackmon or RGIII vs the 7th-9th pick.
gentryholdem - January 1, 2012
0-6 in the division :(
Good effort though. We are getting better.
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
Great draft position and we didn’t get embarassed.
Adrock2099 - January 1, 2012 via mobile
This is what I take from it.
emily522 - January 1, 2012
Bingo
Bernie19Kosar - January 1, 2012
Browns played well...
…and Wallace looked good at QB. So, I guess your QB debate begins now, with the added element of who you draft as QB?
PaVaSteeler - January 1, 2012
No, he didn’t.
JulioBernazard - January 1, 2012
Lol no debate. RGIII
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
That is my understanding.
North Coast Flea - January 1, 2012
Wallace was awful.
kingcrimson2 - January 1, 2012
I can’t tell if you’re serious or not about Wallace. I started laughing immediately.
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
I’m going to predict that whoever our QB is, he won’t be a serial rapist.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
what game were you watching where Wallace was any semblance of an NFL QB…even an NFL backup?
bross09 - January 1, 2012
Ah, Evan Moore could’ve had that deflection if he ran in front of the pile as the ball was coming down.
Chris Pokorny - January 1, 2012
Yeah thats what i was thinking.. How come players never go to front where the ricochet almost always go.
jpmxch - January 1, 2012
Didn’t that happen against the Bears this year? I forget the team, but a player was on the ground and the ball fell right on top of them after the swat.
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
I think it was JAX.
Adrock2099 - January 1, 2012
Defense has come along nicely this year.
mgtbfb - January 1, 2012
Yep, they played their guts out along with Cribbs
Red-Right-88 - January 1, 2012
And Phil. The wind was supposed to have 50 mph gusts at some points during the game. Dawson, Cribbs, and the defense played a great game. Game ball: Sheard. Goat: Wallace.
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
It was a good effort. You have seen the last of Seneca Wallace
champion64 - January 1, 2012
Cribbs had probably his best game ever at WR today. Another positive.
mgtbfb - January 1, 2012
Time to watch the Cavs. Happy new year!
emily522 - January 1, 2012
So it doesn’t matter if we’re 4th or 5th, right? Assuming we want RGIII. Luck’s going one, and Minny, St. Louis and Tampa wouldn’t take a QB. Am I missing something?
ahowie - January 1, 2012
Also there’s the possibility someone (Washington) trades up for RGIII.
ahowie - January 1, 2012
I think they throw money at Flynn.
emily522 - January 1, 2012
Washington does whatever the fuck they want, like the honey badger, the Redskin doesn’t give a shit.
Simmsinns - January 1, 2012
Washington may try to move up to get RG3. Or maybe Miami?
Brownie4ever - January 1, 2012
I’m hoping they break the bank for Flynn
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
We’re in front of Tampa.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Trade position. Also the possibility that we might want Blackmon over RGIII. Blackmon will most likely be gone to Tampa…. although they desperately need defense.
gentryholdem - January 1, 2012
WE PICK IN FRONT OF TAMPA.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Are you sure? TB faced teams with higher winning percentage?
gentryholdem - January 1, 2012
Yes Tampa played teams that won a combined 141 games, we played teams that only won 136 games
champion64 - January 1, 2012
‘Pat, you know Brad. HEY, SEASON TICKETHOLDERS, GET THOSE GUNS OUT OF YOUR MOUTHS!’
Calling it now: Paddy Jordache and his right-hand man, Rick Simon (seeing as the Browns’ O is stuck in the 80s, this is more appropriate than Major Dad). puke
dabooo - January 1, 2012
4-12….well there ya go, so where do we pick?
Red-Right-88 - January 1, 2012
We pick 4th
champion64 - January 1, 2012
u must be very happy
Red-Right-88 - January 1, 2012
I was cheering for the Brownies, but now we pick 4th. It is what it needs to be. WE NEED A QUARTERBACK. I take no joy in losing to PIttsburgh
champion64 - January 1, 2012
Tamap Bay’s opponents had a higher winning percentage than ours
champion64 - January 1, 2012
How many draft threads will there be?
Red-Right-88 - January 1, 2012
Millions, but it what we have to look forward too. THis team will be better
champion64 - January 1, 2012
I take joy in the fact that we made a gimpy rapistburger play the whole game even though it didn’t matter.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
It does matter a bit. Now that prick has to play next week.
Brownie's Year - January 1, 2012
What he was saying is that since the Ravens won, so it didn’t matter if the Steelers won or lost.
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
No duh. But since we kept it close and the BAL/CIN game was close we forced Ben to play the whole game.
Brownie's Year - January 1, 2012
that’s what I was saying
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
Haha that’s a nice way to look at it.
ahowie - January 1, 2012
WE PLAYED A GOOD GAME
champion64 - January 1, 2012
sry, no moral victories in the NFL
UnSafe 70 - January 1, 2012
Steelers are done, Never compete with New England, or Green Bay, New Orleans
champion64 - January 1, 2012
I’m worried about this:
1. Luck
2. RG III
3. blackmon
4. We’re stuck with Richardson
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
Claiborne
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Not a bad pick
champion64 - January 1, 2012
The Rams have Bradford and Vikings have Ponder they will not be picking RG3
champion64 - January 1, 2012
Rams will be picking the OT from USC
champion64 - January 1, 2012
there is no way Kalil gets to #4. He is about as much of a top-3 lock as Luck, maybe even more so.
bross09 - January 1, 2012
Yeah, but I fully expect some to move up.
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
You think the Rams bail on Bradford or they trade away their pick?
Doc's Kid - January 1, 2012
Trade, but it would be soooooo nice if he fell. And he might.
24rubikscube - January 1, 2012
I think H&H will do anything possible to come out of the draft with one of the QBs.
Dawg Nuts - January 1, 2012
You got that right
champion64 - January 1, 2012
No such thing as being stuck with drafting a RB.
Simmsinns - January 1, 2012
That is too high for Richardson, never selected 4th
champion64 - January 1, 2012
Provided we re-sign Hillis I think we are fine at RB
mgtbfb - January 1, 2012
That should be a no-brainer for this front office.
Simmsinns - January 1, 2012
Meh. Gets hurt too much. He won’t take what he’s worth
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
I think he’ll take what he’s worth. But I’m hoping H&H know what he’s worth and don’t low ball him so we end up stuck with Obi and Tender Knees.
Simmsinns - January 1, 2012
They’re going to low ball him because he thinks he’s worth an AP contract. The man missed half the season sick and hurt. That doesn’t deserve an AP contract and he shouldn’t get it.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
AP doesn’t deserve an AP contract. Personally, I highly doubt that Hillis is holding out for an AP contract.
Simmsinns - January 1, 2012
I bet he was early on, I’m sure he’ll take 1-2 mill a year which seems fair.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
He wanted DeAngelo Williams money earlier in the year.

We won’t get stuck with a pick but if we draft a RB there, I’m driving to Dayton and punching you. You’re in Dayton right?
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
I disagree. Especially if it’s top 5.
There is no such thing as begin stuck with drafting a QB.

Never gonna happen

Trade the pick. RGIII may be great, but it doesn’t matter yet. Build the lines, stay with a solid program [kofhacknewheadcoachwheeze], and with some time and a new head coach things will improve.

We’re years away from that. Sadly.
Simmsinns - January 1, 2012
Like three out of the four things you said are not happening.
SpecialBrownie - January 1, 2012
Of course not. They’re only the things that winning teams tend to do. A solid organization with people who command respect, quality drafts, and systems that keep up with the times on BOTH sides of the ball would be just too much to ask.
dabooo - January 1, 2012
Hmmm, Cleveland fans say that every year. How’s that working out?
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
this

I wasn’t saying it last year, but you make a great point. Look what happens when you jump the gun and hire someone like Shurmur.
Simmsinns - January 1, 2012
Shurmur will be a good coach I think once he has an OC to help him and when he has more experience.
HenryDawg - January 1, 2012
How so? I saw his act here in St. Louis. It isn’t changing.
