#Browns Prez Holmgren said "there was no way I was going to trade Hillis, one of our best players.'' Said he talked to Hillis yesterday.@MaryKayCabot
Holmgren says browns will prob hire an offensive coordinator next year. Shurmur will prob still call plays.
maybe they can hire one now?

He would probably install a new system, but at least he would install a new system.
JustBob - October 20, 2011
also, 11 tweets from here over the course of 28 mins. someone just gave her a freakin pound of coke or somethin?
pwndabear - October 20, 2011
shes still going. 4 more in the last 9 minutes
pwndabear - October 20, 2011
I’d say Ryan Mallet, but there’s no way he’d let a pound of coke out of his grubby hands.
Simmsinns - October 20, 2011
i heard his mouthguard is made of pure, uncut colombian white…
DontCallMeJoey - October 20, 2011
These Mallet/coke jokes are boring me.
Brownie's Year - October 20, 2011
Been there/done that, eh?
Simmsinns - October 20, 2011
I’ve never done that stuff. But on the other hand…
Brownie's Year - October 20, 2011
i want making a mallet joke. i was making a cocain joke. specifically about cocaine and nothing else.
because i thought it was funny to have the image of MKC sitting behind a pile of white powder on her desk like scarface
pwndabear - October 20, 2011
I was talking to Simms, not you. :P
Brownie's Year - October 20, 2011
He’s moved onto that harder stuff; only black tar heroin based jokes can get him to laugh these days.
Adrock2099 - October 20, 2011
how about a nice lil gif of mr busey?
pwndabear - October 21, 2011
This made me choke on my chicken alfredo.
The Licensed Optimist - October 20, 2011
I like jokes that involve yayo
bross09 - October 20, 2011
11 tweets in 28 minutes isn’t hard to do when you are getting fed quotes by the walrus. Now 28 tweets in 11 minutes and I would wonder if she met Ryan mallet recently
bross09 - October 20, 2011
call me crazy, but doesn’t an OC call plays?
discoinferno083 - October 20, 2011
Usually.
johnf34 - October 20, 2011
Some NFL teams have an OC but still have a different play caller.
Bernie19Kosar - October 20, 2011
how the shit did holmgren let shurmur start out as the OC, anyway? frustrating.
DontCallMeJoey - October 20, 2011
It’s far beyond our comprehension.
Brownie's Year - October 20, 2011
OSU had an OC but Tressel called all the plays.
HenryDawg - October 20, 2011
Doesn’t Andy Reid also call his own plays?
North Coast Flea - October 20, 2011
yup
Brownie's Year - October 20, 2011
Yep. So does Sean Payton and Mike McCarthy.
Bernie19Kosar - October 21, 2011
Even Holmgren knows. But it’s pretty damn obvious.
Simmsinns - October 20, 2011
I thought it was.
Roger Dorn - October 20, 2011
not to Shurmur.
discoinferno083 - October 20, 2011
there are like 15 tweets in a row in MKC’s feed that are holmgren quotes. very interesting and very much worth a full read.
DontCallMeJoey - October 20, 2011
Any comments on the coaching?
Simmsinns - October 20, 2011
just the OC comment and one about letting heckert and shurmur do all the press stuff with holmgren staying in the background
DontCallMeJoey - October 20, 2011
He syas to the press. Lol.
JustBob - October 20, 2011
At least they are willing to give him the year.
Bernie19Kosar - October 20, 2011
At least they aren’t opposed to not wasting time on someone they think sucks. Looking at you Quinn, Da, Couch, etc.
Villeslgr - October 20, 2011
Tim Couch didn’t suck.
Dawg Nuts - October 21, 2011
he sucked at football, but he did not suck at marrying smoking hot playmates.
DontCallMeJoey - October 21, 2011
Pillow talk.
JustBob - October 20, 2011
every YEAR? seems silly.
discoinferno083 - October 20, 2011
Yeah, it’s not like we are talking Head Coaches here.
Bernie19Kosar - October 21, 2011
That is some good news on the OC.
I never liked the idea of Shurmur taking so much responsibility right out of the box.
Bernie19Kosar - October 20, 2011
I don’t think any one here liked it when we were told that was his plan.
Brownie's Year - October 20, 2011
Yeah how they ever thought it would work is beyond me.
notthatnoise - October 20, 2011
Well, some do and can do. But Shurmur is way to fresh for the task.
Brownie's Year - October 20, 2011
in general, i can stomach shurmur being the primary play caller, but he can’t be the head coach and head coach of the offense.
DontCallMeJoey - October 20, 2011
I was a little skeptical, but it seems pretty clear now that Shurmur is in over his head (not saying he can’t make it as a HC, just that he needs and OC).
burntorangeandbrown - October 20, 2011
I think that means he’s not tall enough to be a prototypical HC/OC.
JustBob - October 20, 2011
If only he were 5 inches taller…
North Coast Flea - October 20, 2011
Drew Brees.
but i can’t wait that long.
discoinferno083 - October 20, 2011
His arm just isn’t strong enough for pointing at a chalkboard that long.
themadlibs - October 21, 2011
His YPA for throwing the challenge flag is an abysmal 4.2 yds. Not good enough for this league. You’ve gotta bomb that little red bastard out there if you want to get noticed.
Off-the-Chain - October 25, 2011
I agree. Even if he is calling the plays, having an OC can really take the load off of him.
bross09 - October 20, 2011
Hearing him say that already made me way more excited for next year.
Adrock2099 - October 20, 2011
wow … me, too.
DontCallMeJoey - October 20, 2011
It’d be nice if Holmgren coached and made Shurmur his OC.
chitown browns fan - October 20, 2011
Before the Shurmur hire (and after it was looking like none of the “big name” candidates was going to come to Cleveland), I was suggesting that Holmgren should find a really good OC (Shurmur / whoever), step in as HC for a year to groom/mentor him, then hand him the reigns.
burntorangeandbrown - October 21, 2011
Yeah, I was thinking this same thing ex post facto. Problem is, it would be a demotion now and not mentoring.
