It was over as soon as it started.
Sources are reporting that Montario Hardesty has torn his ACL and will miss the rest of the 2010-2011 season. It is a shame for Hardesty considering he had just gotten back on the field and was finally getting into some action. Hardesty has had knee troubles his entire football career, including a major operation to his other knee in 2005.
If you watched the game, you could see why the Browns coaching staff was so excited about this kid. Here is hoping that Hardesty can find his way back to the field 100% next season, after all, Jerome Harrison is a free agent next year. Peyton Hillis is going to have to step up.
Chris will have a much more in-depth review of last nights game in the days to come.

Um, already had a thread up Bro…
SpecialBrownie - September 3, 2010
This is kind of big news, deserves a main page post, don’t you think?
Roger Dorn - September 3, 2010
I just mean, most of the comments are in min ATM.
How bout this B19K. I move all your stuff to mine title/article/pic and I’ll promote mine to the front page so we don’t confuse people and the already steady stream that’s started on mine?
SpecialBrownie - September 3, 2010
yeah, but your post is a rant and poorly written
rockybrown - September 3, 2010
I just figured that losing a second round draft pick to a season ending injury should have been a front page article, not a fanpost.
Bernie19Kosar - September 3, 2010
This is why I said I’d move all your stuff to mine, give you credit and promote it. I mean mine has 60+ more comments.
SpecialBrownie - September 3, 2010
parents shouldn’t fight in front of the kids
troy145 - September 3, 2010
Fanshots/fanposts don’t get into news feeds on google, yahoo, etc, even if we promote them. SBN really pushes us to do a front page article for big news to help draw more traffic, even if another post is already up.
Thanks Bernie. Figures this happens on a day I’m busy.

Why would it ask me to promote if it doesn’t even work?
SpecialBrownie - September 3, 2010
You can promote it to the front page, they just don’t get indexed then into the news feeds.
Chris Pokorny - September 4, 2010
Why would it ask me to promote if it doesn’t even work?
SpecialBrownie - September 3, 2010
twice?
dawgtribe - September 4, 2010
twice?
dawgtribe - September 4, 2010
sad news for Hardesty, but i dont think the Browns will miss a beat, Harrison, Hillis, Davis is a potent combination and Jennings is a capable backup.
rockybrown - September 3, 2010
Hillis’ performance this preseason has definitely made me feel better but this definitely still really hurts. No matter how you slice it, we are not as deep at RB without Hardesty in the mix.
troy145 - September 3, 2010
This will give Davis his chance and we see if he’s got what it takes to be a main part of the offense
(just looking for a positive). Will we be keeping Jennings know?
Drexel Dawg - September 3, 2010
I don’t know that Jennings makes the cut. I didn’t really see anything from him, and with all the LB’s trying to make the cut, I think there is a good chance of him not making the team.
AG7 - September 4, 2010
All waived. Yawn.
APV - September 3, 2010
I’d assume Joel Reinders is practice-squad eligible. Anyone know if Coye Francies is?
Ryan Kelsey - September 3, 2010
That’s six players. I’m guessing that’s the Browns’ practice squad right there.
golanbatrac - September 3, 2010
Assuming they get through waivers, that is.
golanbatrac - September 3, 2010
If that’s the practice squad, Carlton Mitchell better get cut outright.
notthatnoise - September 3, 2010
Don’t forget about Danso.
dawgtribe - September 4, 2010
Danso will probably go on IR so he doesn’t count.
SpecialBrownie - September 4, 2010
I think Francies should be. I really hope reinders, Francies, and Gamble go onto our PS (maybe bender…haven’t seen much of him)
bross09 - September 3, 2010
Steptoe is finally gone!
notthatnoise - September 3, 2010
Ah, not Francies!
SpecialBrownie - September 3, 2010
well i sure hope our medical staff was right about tj ward
The Brown Note - September 3, 2010
OT. But did you see TJ Houshmanzadeh is getting cut? Tempted? Think he would be a nice insurance policy and 5th receiver.
realmccoy - September 3, 2010
Nope.
SpecialBrownie - September 3, 2010
1. I hate Housh.
2.Patrick Crayton will be getting also, much better deal.
SpecialBrownie - September 3, 2010
I think he was just traded to SD
realmccoy - September 4, 2010
Yeah, Crayton’s a Charger.
golanbatrac - September 4, 2010
$$$$$.
woodsmeister - September 4, 2010
since he got cut we wouldn’t be responsible for his contract. that doesn’t matter now, but it’s important to remember.
notthatnoise - September 6, 2010
This put a damper on my day off.
Brownie's Year - September 3, 2010
Too bad about this one, I thought for sure we´d found our tailback. I rank James Davis over Jerome Harrison, fundamentally sound, but a tad slow.
Lets not overlook other teams 56 man roster cuts.
mooncamping - September 4, 2010
Really? Harrison is really a vastly underrated runner. People think that because he is small, he cannot run inside. But to me he demonstrates toughness inside. I think he goes over a grand.
realmccoy - September 4, 2010
Harrison is underrated, and it looks like he bulked up this year too. I think our backfield will be fine without Hardesty, though it does blow not having him.
AG7 - September 4, 2010
Yes, looks like the Browns jinx regarding tail backs, unless you count the 270 lbs single back Jamal Lewis as a success.
Looks like a nice pick-up with Andre Anderson, Tulane, though:

mooncamping - September 7, 2010
Well right. He´s like a bulky scat back. It´s more of a novelty, do you really think he can be the feature back?

That is all.
