Shut ’em down, men.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
great stop.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
All right, big third-down stop by the Browns’ defense!
Chris Pokorny - September 19, 2010
Nice stop on third and short!
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Excellent one D!
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
Our offense needs to score some points now.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
9James - September 19, 2010
long drive by KC, over 6 minutes.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
Ending with only 3 points.
StuckInPa - September 19, 2010
One point game.
portland, oregon - September 19, 2010
Finally at my computer. great game. very entertaining to listen to.
bross09 - September 19, 2010
This feed is working, so far (courtesy of the Arrowhead Pride people):
http://www.stickam.com/norm420
kwoog - September 19, 2010
Works for me.
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
and it syncs with the radio out of Dayton, very nice
9James - September 19, 2010
Thanks kwoog. Not much lag, though it just hung on me…
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
Ugh, I don’t like it when Wallace takes so many steps back
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
Good. First down. Hope Moore is ok.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Flag!
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
I’m normally against that penalty, but he purposely jumped to hit him in the head.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
Harrison isn’t doing crap.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Guys, it could be worse. We could have Trent Edwards with 11 passing yards.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Wow.
skipkirk - September 19, 2010
That’s impressive.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
Wait. He was 43 passing yards. But on the game it said Buffalo’s passing yards was 11.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
I think one is passing yards and the other is net passing yards. Green Bay has 3 sacks so now the passing yards on espn where they have team stats is 26 (it went up) but he passed for 58 yards. So i guess they lost 32 yards on those 3 sacks.
The Line for GB looks pretty good (on a different subject)
bross09 - September 19, 2010
That makes more sense.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
yeah. I looked at it and was confused, but then checked the sacks.
also, Edwards threw ANOTHER pick.
bross09 - September 19, 2010
Should’ve had that.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Where is Vickers on these running plays?
HenryDawg - September 19, 2010 via mobile
Overthrown :(
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
Rodgers rushed for a TD. Sweet.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Challenge that!
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
it’s the right call. the defensive player had already gone into the end zone, so even though he was outside it when he downed the ball, it’s a touchback.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
Damn.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Looks like it was Haden. He’ll learn.
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
didn’t know that rule. I figured since he wasn’t in the end zone, it was fine.
bross09 - September 19, 2010
Spiller just ran for 36 yards!
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Oh. It was the kickoff. haha
emily522 - September 19, 2010
I don’t think he has rushed at all today…
bross09 - September 19, 2010
Fujita took a bad angle.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
We’re doing awesome stopping 3rd and short on the run.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Big stop!
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
NIiiiice stop!
HenryDawg - September 19, 2010 via mobile
Weird third-down call by KC.
Chris Pokorny - September 19, 2010
These two teams make the same mistakes
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
I’m really tempted to drop CJ Spiller.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
But I probably won’t. There’s no one in FA.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Haden’s play was somewhat excusable, but that was kind of silly by the KC player to slide toward the end zone.
Chris Pokorny - September 19, 2010
I’m ready for some more Hillis.
And Watson.
dgcambridge - September 19, 2010
I’m ready for some Vickers. Have to run with Harrison+Vickers, not just Harrison.
Chris Pokorny - September 19, 2010
the under-utilization of vickers has been very puzzling.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
Love Vickers of course, but Harrison looks sleepy….Hillis!
dgcambridge - September 19, 2010
exactly. Having a guy like harrison that can wear down the D and pound inside can open up holes for harrison.
bross09 - September 19, 2010
We need to get the first here. Big drive.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
HILLIS. EFFORT!
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Peyton Hillis is awesome.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
Hillis, what a beast. Turned a one-yard gain into a 7-yard gain and a first down.
Chris Pokorny - September 19, 2010
Hillis!
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
If he hadn’t been tripped up right there…
emily522 - September 19, 2010
I’m a little concerned about our yards per attempt on the ground..
hayscent - September 19, 2010
Hillis is over 4 per carry.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
That’s going to be holding.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Holding
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
Keep feeding Hillis the beast
HenryDawg - September 19, 2010 via mobile
Obvious penalty is obvious :(
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
That was a short 3rd quarter.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
it was pretty bad too
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
This games feels like last weeks’.
dgcambridge - September 19, 2010
please don’t say things like that.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
Buerlien is right – what’s up with these lame streaks down the sidelines, our recs can’t get open there and wallace can’t make those throws
HenryDawg - September 19, 2010 via mobile
DA has a 35.4 rating. 2 picks, no TDs. 52%.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Heh.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
Yes. Aaron Rodgers with another TD pass.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
YEAH!
bross09 - September 19, 2010
I’m actually surprised I’m not a Bills fan. My grandma is one, and she still lives in NY. But my mom doesn’t care about football that much. My dad rooted for the Raiders even though he’s from NY too. Guess the fact I was born in Cleveland made me a Browns fan.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
I have a lot of friends in buffalo so I do root for them. However, Rodgers is my favorite QB in the NFL (or manning…but he isn’t human)
bross09 - September 19, 2010
3rd and 18. WTF.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Cmon Brownies, let’s finish this one!
HenryDawg - September 19, 2010 via mobile
Whelp, penalties killed that drive.
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
Sigh.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Hodges has had a very good day punting the football; great coverage too.
Chris Pokorny - September 19, 2010
That’s one positive.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
This team runs out of gas in the second half. D is keeping us in the game but they’re going to get tired if we don’t have the ball a little.
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
Oh no… come on. Coverage.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
We’re stopping the run.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
they aren’t getting anything on the ground.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
STOP THEM HERE.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Cassel has like 146 passing yards. He had 67 last week.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Best scenario – the Browns in attendance for the Ring of Honor ceremony get suited up, and come out for the 4th quarter.
portland, oregon - September 19, 2010
Then Jim Brown unexpectedly shows up for the two minute drill.
portland, oregon - September 19, 2010
Can’t we win without him?
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
3rd-and-6, come on defense, let’s get another stop!
Chris Pokorny - September 19, 2010
We need another sack
NM Dawg - September 19, 2010
Drat
NM Dawg - September 19, 2010
Did Tuba get an INT?
golanbatrac - September 19, 2010
yes.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
2nd quarter.
skipkirk - September 19, 2010
Yeah. It was tipped by Roth and Rubin dove for it.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Indeed he did!
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
On a tipped pass near the end of the first half, yes.
Chris Pokorny - September 19, 2010
Awesome. Tuba gets his own fanpost this week.
golanbatrac - September 19, 2010
Ah, shit.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Argh. The flow of this game is not putting me in my happy place.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
Oh and Aromashadu hasn’t done crap.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Where has Buckeye Brad and BK19 been during the game threads? Their input is always appreciated.
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
I think they’re out and about trying to catch the game.
And I agree, shame they’re not here. Same with Dorn and RK.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Bars
SpecialBrownie - September 19, 2010
They should show more dedication. Jokes, guys, jokes.
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
We need a turnover.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
stop them here
emily522 - September 19, 2010
now would be a good time for a stop
APV - September 19, 2010
Apparently we don’t think so.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Elam is kind of getting torn up
APV - September 19, 2010
I miss mike adams…
bross09 - September 19, 2010
Run defense is doing great. They’re extending these drives in the air.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
I would love an interception right about now.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
In the end zone.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
That was a good fake, I’ll admit.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Ward!
emily522 - September 19, 2010
BBDB?
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
BuckeyeBradDoesBlow?
SpecialBrownie - September 19, 2010
Blitz By Defensive Back?
Bring Back David Bowens?
dgcambridge - September 19, 2010
Brian Billick DoucheBag
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
Brian Boitano Does Boys?
Betty Boop Dates Bluto (from popeye)?
bross09 - September 19, 2010
Kept ‘em out! D won’t quit, but we need points.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
3 points from the ref + FG missed by Phil = Chiefs lead
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
Ugh, Chiefs up again. For all intents and purposes, we need to score on this next drive.
Chris Pokorny - September 19, 2010
Now they finally call holding? They’ve been holding like a drug dealer. Come on Browns let’s finish this!!
HenryDawg - September 19, 2010 via mobile
C’mon boys. Let’s do this.
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
Seneca needs to step up into the pocket rather than rolling out.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
exactly. He did have some heat, but that hold was a direct result of him scrambling out of the pocket. JT has Hali contained on that play, but seneca rolls out to the point where Hali is between JT and Seneca…what can he do?
In that situation, Seneca needs to either stay in the pocket, or scramble to the right, where there didn’t seem to be as much of a pass rush from.
bross09 - September 19, 2010
What’s with those fucking long balls down the sideline?
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
I hated that throw.
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
Hell. Needed that first.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
Hodges picked the wrong time to come up with a duck.
Chris Pokorny - September 19, 2010
Refs= Really, extremely f-ing suck.
I mean it’s terrible.
SpecialBrownie - September 19, 2010
the JT hold?
bross09 - September 19, 2010
We’re losing this game. The refs didn’t cause us to have zero offense in the second half.
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
wow…thats what you got from this? He didn’t say anything about the play in the 2nd half. He just said the refs have sucked, which is his opinion and I agree with. he didn’t say we would have a much better offense if they were better.
bross09 - September 19, 2010
It’s just a disease to pretty much ALWAYS blame the refs in game like this, typically because we are losing “because of the calls” or because of the refs or something. I was combatting that view-point. Did he articulate that view? Perhaps not, but I thought that’s what he was getting at.
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
but he DIDN’T say that. He just said the refereeing is bad. this is a package deal fallacy.
He did not articulate this view AT ALL. if you take the statement at face value, without adding any of your opinions in, he does not articulate this view. You thought this was what he was getting at but that is you making an assumption based on things that are supposed to go together and interpreting what he says and then criticizing based on your personal interpretation.
bross09 - September 19, 2010
Relax bross. Relax. Seriously.
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
It’s inherently stupid to get involved in a flame war, particularly because it’s probably entirely about our emotions after getting beat again by a team we should have beaten. But, I was saying that particular comment to that particular user based on what I observed last week. If it’s anyone but him, or if I’m not pissed off at the poor play, I probably don’t make it.
I think my point is valid, not like it matters.
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
Flame wars are fun, what are you talking about?
Actually, I am very in control of my emotions and am surprisingly calm after the loss. Also, I rarely (if ever) argue based on emotions but on logic…which is why I logical fallacied your ass…
so you admit then to irrationally targeting SB? He is the only person you would criticize for this. While I have seen him complain about the refs, I don’t remember him blaming a loss on them, so you really have no basis at all for your irrationality.
I also think its funny that you start your comment by saying that its stupid to argue like this, but then continue the argument.
bross09 - September 19, 2010
you just don’t realize what you got yourself into…you had to make me bring out my fallacy guns.
bross09 - September 19, 2010
Right. You’re right, your fallacy guns were way too much for my second half typing defenses. I wave the white flag.
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
I really can’t listen any more
SpecialBrownie - September 19, 2010
This sucks.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
People are jumping out of windows in Dallas. How do you not get more than 1 sack against the Bears line?
golanbatrac - September 19, 2010
WHAT THE HELL?
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Fuck that flag. FUCK THAT FLAG.
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
that’s bullshit.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
Giving the game away…
emily522 - September 19, 2010
That’s fucking ridiculous.
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
Worst. Officiating. Ever.
shep615 - September 19, 2010
still only 23 total running carries from our main backs. Worst playcalling, ever. It’s like a complete repeat of last weak.
gentryholdem - September 19, 2010
Not at all. it is MUCH more balanced, especially considering this is a close game.
Last week, we were up the whole game but passed it 37 times compared to 18 rushes by our RBs and 23 total rushes. So we passed it 62% of the time. We also called a pass 63.33% of the time (one rush by Jake when it was a pass play).
This game was a close game all the way through with a lot of lead changes. we have 24 rushes by our RBs and 26 total. we passed it 54.7% of the time so far today and called a pass play 56% of the time. the average NFL team passed 54.7% of the time last year…whats the problem??
bross09 - September 19, 2010
the problem is we should run more than the average NFL team.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
Or at least try that until it proves futile.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
I agree. However, to throw up your hands and say ‘oh, this is as bad as last week, we are not running it at all and the coaches should be fired’ is an extreme overreaction.
I agree we should run it more, but the team did show more committment to the run. I think, if harrison was more effective, we may have run it 3-4 more times. I forgot to say that may have affected how much we ran it. I think its 50/50 if he has 3.5 ypc or more.
bross09 - September 19, 2010
Bross my friend, your (overly?) analytical take seems odd here in the heat of a game thread. Lots of venting going on here, you know?
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
I am surprisingly rational and cool with my emotions. I dunno why…Its surprising me.
bross09 - September 19, 2010
We should run run RUN. We should make them prove to the world that they can stop the run and until they do that we should continue stuffing down their throats.
My view is : running = points
Clearly the Browns disagree.
9James - September 19, 2010
even if we have success through the air like we did in the first half?
actually, they were stuffing us. Hillis was the only guy who had significant effectiveness. our running game averaged 2.8 yards per carry if I remember correctly. I would say they stuffed us and we were still running it down their throats to set up the pass.
you know, the NFL allows teams to score passing TDs too. Passing=Points too and we were able to score points passing the ball.
bross09 - September 19, 2010
a lot to not like from this game. offense is looking bad.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
If we don’t stop them here we’re done.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Good breakup by Benard.
Chris Pokorny - September 19, 2010
Thanks for throwing there KC
dgcambridge - September 19, 2010
Ah crap.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
3 points guys, that’s all we need.
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
We still have some time to mix in the running game here. Don’t have to watch Wallace drop back for long passes.
Chris Pokorny - September 19, 2010
that’s not gonna cut it.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
Come on Seneca, you can do it
HenryDawg - September 19, 2010 via mobile
look for watson….
Internalfire48 - September 19, 2010
Game over.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Where’s Ratliff?
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
Who’d laughing now, Mangini?
BrettRatliffisBeast - September 19, 2010
MO MASS.
DID THEY JUST PULL THE PROCESS RULE? WTF.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Well I’m outta here. This sucks.
emily522 - September 19, 2010
Vaya con dios. I’m sure school will be more fun than the end of this one. Me, I’m going to go slam my head in a door until the memory fades.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
No.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
shitty punt.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
I wonder if they’ll keep Rob Ryan as Defensive Coordinator after they fire Mangini.
gentryholdem - September 19, 2010
I wonder if Mangini keeps Daboll much longer.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
i hope not much longer…or get someone else to call the plays
Internalfire48 - September 19, 2010
WTF. I am so pissed right now. What the hell?
How much Wildcat have we run during this game? Wasn’t that supposed to be our unstoppable weapon?
shep615 - September 19, 2010
(Buries head) Ugh, hate having to know the Chiefs only need a first down to win…
Chris Pokorny - September 19, 2010
if they get rid of mangini…they might go after Bill Cowler harder this year…
Internalfire48 - September 19, 2010
I doubt Cowher would take the job on a division opponent of the Steelers. Much more likely to go to somewhere like Carolina.
gentryholdem - September 19, 2010
Another game we gave away. carbon copy of last week.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
KC should go for it.
dgcambridge - September 19, 2010
I would.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
yeah, I would.
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
They go for it here.
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
How many timeouts do we have?
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
0
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
F—k. Figures.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010

SpecialBrownie - September 19, 2010
They got it, imo. Shit.
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
thats what it looked like to me.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
not going to be reversed, that ball breaks the plane.
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
I’m shocked at the total lack of offense in the 2nd half again
9James - September 19, 2010
I think Daboll should be replaced by Tuesday
9James - September 19, 2010
well, time to go get drunk.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
wait! its under review, my liver can still be saved!
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
Oh come on, Charles didn’t even get close to that white line! I hope they respot this and re-measure.
Chris Pokorny - September 19, 2010
don’t think so Chris, but I hope. Refs owe us big time today.
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
Eh, maybe he did, but I wish he didn’t.
Chris Pokorny - September 19, 2010
Complete repeat of week 1. No offensive adjustments in the 2nd half. Fire Daboll tomorrow.
gentryholdem - September 19, 2010
Yes.
9James - September 19, 2010
The playcalling and game plans has shown insufficient growth from last year. If Daboll is still rightfully to blame for that, well….
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
Lets not fire anyone this early into the season…
bross09 - September 19, 2010
You do remember that the offense was unbelievably bas last year too right?
9James - September 19, 2010
…but near the end of the season it showed some major improvements. If we go 0-7 or 0-8 (maybe even 0-6) and the offense is still this bad, I would definitely be in favor of a firing of daboll. However, 2 games is nowhere near an adequate time to give an accurate evaluation.
bross09 - September 19, 2010
Doesn’t this make the lack of offense at the start of this season even more perplexing?
Bernie19Kosar - September 19, 2010
it does.
bross09 - September 19, 2010
Another putrid second half offensively.
johnnyphoenix - September 19, 2010
apply the anesthesia. too bad.
portland, oregon - September 19, 2010
Let’s look at the next 5 games—errr—maybe not.
johnnyphoenix - September 19, 2010
F—k.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
Complete inability to score points in the second half. Just silly.
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
Browns suck.
golanbatrac - September 19, 2010
Ravens lost to the Bengals.
golanbatrac - September 19, 2010
Did many people get injured?
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
I hope.
golanbatrac - September 19, 2010
Best outcome I could hope for with that one….
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
Think we can top last years 0-11 start?
bbstirrd - September 19, 2010
We started 1-11, not 0-11. Won against the Bills in that 6-3 thriller in the snow in Week 5.
DisplacedBuckeye - September 19, 2010
Mangini…if you want to keep your job…get rid of Daboll
Internalfire48 - September 19, 2010
two reviews that the announcers thought would be easily overturned were held up.
The non-reversal of the harrison fumble is in my opinion the worst call by an official since 2002.
none of this excuses an inept offense.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
yea, I’m not a ref, but I definitely felt we got no love from the officials on that call, as well as the run by Jones at the end….maybe we just didn’t pay the refs enough this week. Although we need some offense in the 2nd half if we wanna win games.
Tough loss today.
da36chamberz - September 19, 2010
Holmgren needs to do some ass kicking, right now.
SpecialBrownie - September 19, 2010
I’d prefer Holmgren doing some ass moving instead…i.e. from the loge to the sideline at this point.
johnnyphoenix - September 19, 2010
Yea another moral victory for the Browns. Let’s keep losing by 2 or 3 all year long. So tired of the shots of Mangini sulking like the bitch he is
HenryDawg - September 19, 2010 via mobile
i think you need to look up “sulking” in a dictionary and rethink your wording.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
play calling suck
deemac3248 - September 19, 2010
Outcoached once again.
kwoog - September 19, 2010
Browns lose again 0-3
Time to fire the maggot Mangini and the idiot Daboll
CharleneRene - September 19, 2010
The name calling isn’t necessary, but the firings might be

bross09 - September 19, 2010
I’m thinking of just watching the first half from now on.
JustBob - September 19, 2010
So stupid.
SpecialBrownie - September 19, 2010
remember how Holmgren was iffy on Mangini when he joined the organization? I was too at that time. Now I’m done, maybe Holmgen is too?
/makes official switch to get-rid-of-Mangini party
dgcambridge - September 19, 2010
Can’t we fire Daboll first?
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
Daboll needs to be gone before Mangini…since Daboll calls the plays
Internalfire48 - September 19, 2010
Yeah, because switching coaches every few years has worked so well for us in the past.
golanbatrac - September 19, 2010
yeah…look at all our success from it!
bross09 - September 19, 2010
Right, we should stick to actions that have brought us success.
dgcambridge - September 19, 2010
Right becuase we should keep the POS soccer boy hired. Same POS nobody else wanted, same POS who ratted out his mentor, same POS who does nothing during a game besides standing around looking pissed off.
HenryDawg - September 19, 2010 via mobile
when did lerner become ‘soccer boy’? are NFL owners not allowed to own soccer teams?
Is Stan Kroenke ‘soccer boy’ because he is the largest shareholder in FC Arsenal and he owns the rams?
Is Malcolm Glazer ‘soccer boy’ for owning Man U and the Bucs?
No. Owning a soccer team does not make you soccer boy. In fact, if anyone is ‘soccer boy’ it is Kroenke because he bought FC arsenal before he bought the rams.
So Mangini was a reject who sucked wherever he went? There is no way anyone had interest in him? wrong. There was some interest, but we jumped early before anyone else made him a good offer. Was there no interest for Haynesworth or Julius peppers in free agency? When free agency started, these guys were immediately signed to lucrative deals. Mangini was considered one of the best avaliable coaches.
oh…so he is a bad guy for ratting out Belichick for spygate? so we should kill all the snitches instead of the people doing something wrong? Though Belichick is a great coach, he is a D-Bag who was caught cheating and I fault mangini none for that.
bross09 - September 19, 2010
Don’t blame Mangini, he didn’t force Bill to cheat.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
Refs and Dawson make the difference in the scoreboard but nothing excuses that second half of offense.
What’s crucial is that this team is not getting better. The D was good but then KC is not a great team. Shit I’m frustrated. Part of being a Browns fan I guess.
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
the team is loads better. The defense played great. The offense did not, but I find it hard to place all the blame for that on mangini. Daboll hasn’t been good and it was a career backup under center.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
Daboll has time and again proven he isn’t worthy of calling plays at the high school level, let alone for the browns
AG7 - September 19, 2010
I think this is just an irrational, emotional reaction.
Daboll hasn’t shown in these 2 games good playcalling. However, he showed some promise near the end of last year. lets not all jump off the deep end because of two games.
bross09 - September 19, 2010
He has, but only in the first half. He has no idea what to do with a lead. It’s so frustrating to watch this sequence every posession: run, run, pass, punt. Every damn possession.
AG7 - September 19, 2010
I agree he doesn’t seem to know what to do with a lead. I am definitely in favor of action if this continues and am frustrated, but this is WAY too early to do anything drastic like this.
bross09 - September 19, 2010
I agree. The defense showed some good stuff last year..and now they have much more secondary help. Its just excruciating watching the offense.
johnnyphoenix - September 19, 2010
The fans deserve better
deemac3248 - September 19, 2010
So many reasons for why we lost, but responsibility lies with Daboll. I am so sick of watching him call plays not to lose once we get a lead. He is no longer interested in scoring if we have even a 1 point lead, and it is getting old. He needs to be fired…like right now on the field.
AG7 - September 19, 2010
So much for the kinder, gentler Mangini experiment.
johnnyphoenix - September 19, 2010
Cleveland agony continues . . . and the torture never stops
portland, oregon - September 19, 2010
I’ll come back tomorrow when people are feeling less pissed off.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
good luck with that.
johnnyphoenix - September 19, 2010
Does anyone think Daboll realistically gets fired in-season? Maybe if (who we kidding) when we go 0-5 0-6/
johnnyphoenix - September 19, 2010
If there is a god, he will be gone.
AG7 - September 19, 2010
who saw this…KC 2-0….TB 2-0
Internalfire48 - September 19, 2010
We should be 2-0. We gave away these games.
BuenosAires_Dawg - September 19, 2010
No, we should be 0-2. We don’t play like a team that is there to win. We go in hard, and then play to avoid losing after 2 quarters. No one wins like that.
AG7 - September 19, 2010
Jesus, think about it…we’ve been doing that for about 25 years now…ever since schottenheimer up until now.
johnnyphoenix - September 19, 2010
no we’re completely deserving of 0-2, and we gave away nothing.
johnnyphoenix - September 19, 2010
I think we need to begin considering the possibility that with Zastudil gone and Cribbs busy trying to earn that ridiculous contract he got, we no longer have a game changing special teams unit. We’ll be playing deep on our own side of the field for most of every game.
golanbatrac - September 19, 2010
My dad was worried Cribs would lose his fire once he got what he was playing for in the first place.
SpecialBrownie - September 19, 2010
Punt coverage still seemed good, but I wonder if you’re right. I knew we’d miss Zastudil but didn’t expect the rest.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - September 19, 2010
Hodges has been pretty good, I’m way more worried about Cribbs lack of explosive special teams plays.
notthatnoise - September 19, 2010
These guys just ruin Sundays for me every week.
AG7 - September 19, 2010
Yeah I know. It’s like going to the dentist every sunday.
ALL in all a nice combination of boredom, frustration, and pain. And expensive.
johnnyphoenix - September 19, 2010
On the bright side: Rob Ryan’s defense didn’t allow a touchdown today, and forced two turnovers.
Cap'n Snegiryov - September 19, 2010
Honestly, why not fire Mangini and Daboll and install Ryan as HC? Then Mangini brings in his own offensive guys.
gentryholdem - September 19, 2010
Instant Recap thread up here; try to move post-game discussion there.
Chris Pokorny - September 19, 2010
Let’s face it…our defense is pretty damn decent. They showed that last year and now we have some talent back in the secondary. It’s a damn shame our offense has to squander every bit of effort the D gives.
