The injury bug visited the Cleveland Browns in Berea during Tuesday morning's practice, as two players left the practice field with injuries.
According to ESPN, cornerback Eric Wright injured his right leg during practice:
Wright got hurt during 7-on-7 drills about halfway through the Browns' morning workout Tuesday. He was attended to on the sideline by trainers, who put an ice wrap on Wright's leg. He limped to the team's training facility for further treatment. Wright's injury appeared to be to his hamstring.
Besides Wright leaving the field, fans also had to witness second-year linebacker Marcus Benard get carted off the field. According to a tweet by the Plain Dealer's Tony Grossi, Benard had an apparent leg injury and needed the cart to get to the building.
UPDATE: You can also add DE Brian Schaefering to the list of players who left the field with an injury. I wonder if this means the team will be in for a "light" evening session?

Any idea of the severity of the injuries?

sounds like a pulled hamstring for wright, so not too bad.
Benard could be much worse, maybe some ligament damage or something?
no idea what happened to schaefering.

This could hurt Wright’s trade value.

haha

Not good. Now, do we think picking a cornerback with our first round pick was a bad idea?

Wright will be fine.
Roger Dorn - August 10, 2010
I hope so.

Too bad for Wright. Haden could grab his spot and not let go. Wright could be relegated to nickel only.
StuckInPa - August 10, 2010
Wright will start if healthy
Roger Dorn - August 10, 2010
Yea he’s probably not going to be out for too long anyway.

Reports were that Wright was back on the practice field for the 2nd practice. He was also “looking lose and dancing to the the music”. Sounds like he’s going to be OK. Lets not wish any of our corners ill will for the sake of another. We need them all. Let’s hope Wrigt develops a knack for covering the slot, Haden is another Revis, and B-Mac learns to tackle instead of overplaying the ball on every play. GO Browns!
