For those of you who voted for TE Greg Estandia to make the team's 53-man roster, you can forget about it. Before training camp even had a chance to get under way, the team placed Estandia on the injured reserve, according to Adam Caplan.
There's no indication at the moment as to what injury Estandia has, but the team is now down to just four tight ends. It wouldn't be a surprise if the team picked up an undrafted free agent at tight end to take his spot before the start of camp.

Royal will make the team because of his contract.

It´s a long season. He´ll come in handy when he´s recovered.

Not really. He’s on the injured reserve and can’t come off of it barring a loophole. I suspect an injury settlement will be reached or something and that he’ll be waived before the season starts, which would make him eligible to join another club. I only have that suspicion since this move seemed to come out of no where.

A loop hole like a fictitious trade deadline?

I figured if you´re injured and then not, you can come back onto the active roster?

Nope, if you place a player on the Injured Reserve, they are supposed to be out for the whole season. If a player is injured but likely to come back in a few weeks, you simply don’t place them on the Injured Reserve, and then they can come back.

Well, if that be true, is he a long term investment?

Oh; poor Greg
He is an ex-Jag I hope he will recover 100% from this; and we can see him on the field
