Remember Shaun Suisham?

Soon after the Cleveland Browns signed undrafted free agent Leigh Tiffin to a contract, they waived him. The team then proceeded to sign veteran kicker Shaun Suisham (side-note: why was Tiffin signed in the first place?). Suisham has been with two NFL teams during his 5-year career, but probably wasn't a household name until last season. You don't remember who he is? Flash back to late in the 2009 season when the Washington Redskins were primed to be the first team to defeat the New Orleans Saints...

Suisham doesn't have horrible accuracy, but he's still a full four percentage points behind Browns kicker Phil Dawson. There have been rumors that Dawson might stage a mini-holdout again, so signing Suisham is probably just an insurance policy until training camp arrives. Last year, the Browns signed kicker Parker Douglass but waived him when Dawson arrived to the first day of training camp.

Suisham=Nugent

Nugent<Suisham

Nugent from OSU…I think I am seeing a pattern…

did you go through and post this in every thread?

Um, why did we do this?

To show the RFAs that we don’t mind spending money just not on them.

Just what I’d like to know. All this inside a couple of days?

because it doesn’t matter. put it our of your mind

No one feels bad for Tiffin?

I do. he’ll get a shot somewhere eventually.

I think I would have rather kept the young kid. This guy choked under pressure last year.

Remember Shaun Suisham?

nope.

Give Dawson the sammich and coke he wants!

I am a browns fan from DC and have watched many redskins games in the past years and shaun suisham is downright AWFUL

Good thing Phil Dawson is our kicker.

I hope Dawson stays for a another year or three.

NFP reports that Tiffin is on our injured reserve list:

An injury explains all this nicely. Mystery solved!
