He’s a firey, extremely accurate QB with reasonable arm strength and great understanding of the game. He’s got solid mechanics, a quick release, and is fairly mobile. He had one injury and we have a good line, I’m not overly worried about the injury factor.
I was looking online, Haden’s 40s at his pro day were reportedly anywhere from 4.38 to 4.46. Plus, the turf was wet. He was running on an outdoor field that looked like either real grass or fieldturf, so being wet it was probably a slow surface.
You aren’t missing much. Rose is making our guards look silly atm. Looks like an off game which is fine by me. The more games we play the happier I’ll be.
Can’t argue with the results though. We’ll see. Like I said. I’d rather this series went to 6 games and we get some good rip. Treat these like practice games.
Well I would hope that what somebody said earlier is true. With Haden and Brown now in the secondary, we should start doing much more man coverage with lots o blitz packages.
That one fell so far outside the realm of “he’s big so let it slide” that it would have been infuriating even if the game wasn’t on the line, which it was.
well, I didnt think we’d sweep them..and they DO need to wake the hell up. This kind of recent play isnt gonna beat orlando, LA, OR the celtics for that matter.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Bryant pull a Crabtree and try to get a contract for more than where he was drafted. If it looks like a diva and smells like a diva…
Officiating affected the last 5 min of the game. Truth be told they should never have been in that position. You can’t continue to get beat on the offensive boards, allow Rose to drive to the foul line before getting stopped by a defender and let a douche like Noah dictate the tone of the game.
That’s not fanhood, dude. Not even close. Keep lying yourself if it helps you sleep at night though. But that same kind “fan” type can happen by just saying “I’m now a Vikings fan.”
Pretending Clausen gives it legitimacy is just joke.
They might want to turn on a riot watch or something like that. I know if the Browns just pulled that shit there’d be cars and couches burning the streets.
I was talking to baby Jesus about my work ethic, my heart, my work ethic, blessed, god, work ethic, all my heart, work hard, baby jesus, work hard, my heart….. praise the lord. BLAH BLAH
seneca wallace is better than brady quinn, jake delhomme had a historically awful year, but his average season is better than Orton’s average season, and brett ratliff is better than tebow
So far I’ve had only four picks exactly correct in my mock: the first three, then Berry at #5. I did have San Francisco taking Davis with their first pick, but at 13, not 11.
i really think we oughta wait til the later rounds, throw our lot with a late round QB like Lafevour or Brown, and adress our defensive backfield in these earlier rounds. Next year’s QB draft class is more promising IMO and we have enough now at QB to improve on our gains last year.
I feel pretty confident we are going to have good options available with the 2nd round pick. With those 3 3rd rounders and a whole night to reset our draft board…that could be interesting.
We don’t need a “potential” starting QB for this year. That’s why we signed Delhomme and traded for Wallace. No QB we draft this year is seeing the field beyond injury to our first two guys.
I"m not talking about starting this year, i’m talking about for the future, i don’t see wallace or delhomme being our starter of the future. I thought Holmgren made a comment about taking a QB this year, which is why i said “potential starting QB this year”
Barring any last second catastrophes, I’m pretty happy with round one.
1. The Browns didn’t mortgage the rest of the draft chasing Bradford or Berry.
2. The Browns got Haden.
3. The Browns didn’t take Clausen or Tebow.
4. The Steelers didn’t get Iupati.
5. The Browns still have all of their picks.
Clausen has been working with professional QB trainers since he was in 8th grade so that he could be a first round pick…he’s probably about to kill himself right now.
trading one of the many picks we have, that we probably wouldn’t use effectively anyway, wouldn’t affect value; especially since we’ll be saving 30 million
I think he went back and changed it. He now has it as a B. I just figured it out…walterfootball IS TRSS…
I am thinking “what is up with walterfootball’s man love for clausen” and then it hit me. He gave Arizona a D for their pick b/c they got a good value on a NT instead of taking clausen.
That doesn’t matter. The lead is the biggest story, what most people will be talking about, and that’s not the Rams picking the guy everyone expected them to take at 1. Tim Tebow going as high as he did is undoubtedly a big story.
You know, ESPN could do many things better, but people can take it way too far, looking to critcize every little thing they do. Tim Tebow is a big story and people want to talk about him, whether you like it or not.
Tebow was going to be the lead no matter what. ESPN is probably bumming that he didn’t fall to the second day, because it would have doubled the television audience. For whatever reason Tebow is the biggest draw in the whole draft, period.
looking back, I know it sucks that kansas city got berry, but maybe it was for the best. Sheldon brown is nice, but this was a very deep CB draft with a lot of good players. however, there was a huge CB run in the late first and by the time we picked, most of the guys I liked were off the board in the 2nd round anyways. personally I would rather have haden and ward than berry and speivey.
First! WOOOT

The dream is over.
TheDriveStillHurts - April 22, 2010

TheDriveStillHurts - April 22, 2010
ahh, this feels niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
Clausen falling is good news for our chances of getting McCoy in the second.
danvail - April 22, 2010
One can certainly hope.
Browns town - April 22, 2010
Good point.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
We hate Clausen around here that much that this constitutes a good point?! Amazing.
Western Reserve - April 22, 2010
No.
Monsters of the Midway - April 22, 2010
Heck if they both keep falling I wouldn’t mind either one of them
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
doesn’t bother me, we didn’t take him
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
I think McCoy is the most underrated QB of the draft. I would be very happy to see him in a browns uniform
Mike85 - April 22, 2010
and you want McCoy? durability factor….short and dont go drew brees on me.
Red-Right-88 - April 23, 2010
He’s a firey, extremely accurate QB with reasonable arm strength and great understanding of the game. He’s got solid mechanics, a quick release, and is fairly mobile. He had one injury and we have a good line, I’m not overly worried about the injury factor.
We’re talking second round, not top 5.
danvail - April 23, 2010
And it seemed like a pretty freak injury he had when he was running the ball—something we’d rarely ask him to do.
rufio - April 23, 2010
I hate how it’s only round 1 tonight :-/
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Agreed.
macdowellm03 - April 22, 2010
Maybe a safety in the 3rd? I doubt anyone gets moved there.
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
No Clausen. But no Berry.
In say we take Coleman in the 3rd
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
No way!!!
Kurt Coleman is not an NFL starting-caliber saftey
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
I predict we trade back in for Odrick.
TheDriveStillHurts - April 22, 2010
No
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
Deion Sanders is doing a good job on the stage – he’s fun to watch interview these kids.
Spidey - April 22, 2010
Deion Sanders gets way too close to his interviewee.
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
Good point about next years draft being REALLY deep on QBs.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Licensed Pessimist - April 22, 2010
I feel like we dodged a bullet (thankyouverymuchKC). Haden will do great things for us as a corner or as a safety. Well done hoheini!
golanbatrac - April 22, 2010
I needed to hear that. Thanks.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Also: Brandon MacDonald is now fourth on the depth chart.

rufio - April 23, 2010
Channel 19 has the Heckert/Mangini press conference live. The graphic at the bottom of the screen reads: Breaking News! Haden is a Cornerback!
Mangini called Haden a ‘green sticker guy’. Heckert said ‘we liked him all along’.
golanbatrac - April 22, 2010
ALUALU
The Licensed Pessimist - April 22, 2010

TheRealSlimShady - April 22, 2010
huge reach! aaaaack!
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
This could end up being a good pick. Maybe not particularly flashy.
Western Reserve - April 22, 2010
I do love how all draft boards are now completely screwed.
DisplacedBuckeye - April 22, 2010
Tyson Alualu????
Matt Y. - April 22, 2010
Who?
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
Here comes the Clausen FREEFALL.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
Hopefully it’s not the browns that break his fall like they did for quinn
Mike85 - April 23, 2010
Buhhh Jax
danvail - April 22, 2010
Damn they’re really trying to get the Jags out of florida
The Licensed Pessimist - April 22, 2010

Clausen: “Now I’m freeeeee. Freeeeefalling!”
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Brady Quinn is his hero

TheRealSlimShady - April 22, 2010
Well for one thing Mayock loves him.

Denver trades with SF?
DisplacedBuckeye - April 22, 2010

BringBackKosar - April 22, 2010
In the beginning of the offseason I predicted Alualu to go in the first. Just not like this. WOW
TheRealSlimShady - April 22, 2010

Excellent.
golanbatrac - April 22, 2010
Clausen to 49ers I bet.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Has to be
danvail - April 22, 2010
Why? Smith looked good last year.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
Why would they need to leapfrog Miami for that?
TheDriveStillHurts - April 22, 2010
They have another 1st rounder.
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
Would havE preferred Earl Thomas. He was in 4.3s and Mayock said he was most instinctive safety in a while – fwiw
I’m disappointed – but I am sure they tried hard to trade down.

I had Tyson Alualu rated as a top of the second round talent
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
Yep, trade indeed has developed here…only cost a fourth rounder? Thought that’s what ESPN said. Seems kind of cheap to move up.
Chris Pokorny - April 22, 2010

Earl Thomas here

TheDriveStillHurts - April 22, 2010

Monsters of the Midway - April 22, 2010
4
rebuilding year - April 22, 2010
Fuck Kirk Hinrich
Browns town - April 22, 2010
Taylor Mays – possible to make it thru to tomorrow? Would be sweet!
realmccoy - April 22, 2010 via mobile
Would it be? Where would you take him?
Monsters of the Midway - April 22, 2010
I’d take him with our 2. That would be solid.
TheDriveStillHurts - April 22, 2010
I don’t really know but people really seemed down on his ability. Especially translating to the NFL level.
Monsters of the Midway - April 22, 2010
2nd – and lay off QB. We need a safety and guy is like 230 and runs 4.3. That is a freak – mangini can teach cover skilss dammit
realmccoy - April 22, 2010 via mobile
yeah, cuz it would push Morgan Burnett and Nate Allen down too
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
Good point.
Monsters of the Midway - April 22, 2010
JPP when they have Justin Tuck and Osi?
Perhaps their looking for an OLB?
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
Best avail on their board
realmccoy - April 22, 2010 via mobile
Cavs cut it to FOUR.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
Lakers!!! (Oh sorry, wrong board.)
TheDriveStillHurts - April 22, 2010
I’m out…looks like were done for this 1st round. Talk at you guys in the morn
Kimble_79 - April 22, 2010
I really don’t like this draft format.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
As of now, I’m with you. However, I reserve the right to change my opinion if we kill it out on day 2.
Monsters of the Midway - April 22, 2010
outMonsters of the Midway - April 22, 2010
ya its more fun getting drunk on Saturday and chillen with friends watching the draft.
The Brown Note - April 22, 2010
Yes, now I’m just watching the draft and drinking alone.
Monsters of the Midway - April 22, 2010
me to but cant drink to much with work in the am
The Brown Note - April 22, 2010
Cavs down by TWO.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
49ers doing well. Davis and Iupati? Crazy.
Still wonderin’ what the Broncos are up to.
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
I was thinking Iupati was gonna fall to the Steelers. Very happy that he went one pick ahead of them.
Browns town - April 22, 2010
They might go for Pauncey now though. Who isn’t half-bad either.
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
You’re right, but I’d rather face Pouncey twice a year than Iupati.
Browns town - April 22, 2010
Pitt… Dez Bryant?
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Who cares?
CLAUSEN and trade Burger!
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
i liked iupati
The Brown Note - April 22, 2010
Love first round OTs. So San Francisco is solid now.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
I hope this Pouncey dude sucks.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
This.
Browns town - April 22, 2010
Wow, check out that guys chain and his, girlfriend?
Monsters of the Midway - April 22, 2010
Seahawks….Okung and Thomas. NOT bad at all.
johnnyphoenix - April 22, 2010
HAHA You guys hear the crowd screaming “SHE SAID NO! SHE SAID NO! SHE SAID NO!”
Brownie's Year - April 22, 2010
Is it possible McCoy—> Seahaws round 2?
I still feel like we should take him end of round 1.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
that kid who announced for the steelers didnt do his fanbase stereotype any favors
johnnyphoenix - April 22, 2010
Ouch. Ripping a kid from the make-a-wish foundation?
Monsters of the Midway - April 22, 2010
Cavs are going to lose.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Terrible call.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
HORRIBLE call. One of the worst calls I’ve seen in a long time.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
Seriously
danvail - April 22, 2010
what happened?
johnnyphoenix - April 22, 2010
We’re down six final minute, LeBron drives and Deng slides into his path. Charging. It wasn’t even close, Deng was dragging a foot.
danvail - April 22, 2010
Relative to his star power, LeBron gets no calls. If he weighed 50lbs less, the refs would be calling a lot more fouls when he drove.
rufio - April 23, 2010
That one fell so far outside the realm of “he’s big so let it slide” that it would have been infuriating even if the game wasn’t on the line, which it was.
danvail - April 23, 2010
well, hopefully it’ll wake them up a bit.
johnnyphoenix - April 22, 2010
Im not adverse to them getting a bit of a fight in the first round
johnnyphoenix - April 22, 2010
This is more than a fight. Derek Rose is bending them over his knee and spanking them.
Monsters of the Midway - April 22, 2010
+1. We know what happens when we steamroll teams and sit around for a week.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
well, I didnt think we’d sweep them..and they DO need to wake the hell up. This kind of recent play isnt gonna beat orlando, LA, OR the celtics for that matter.
johnnyphoenix - April 22, 2010
True.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Annnnnd… more bullshit as Noah rapes LeBron under the basket, no call.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
Really terrible officiating.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
its pretty awful officiating, but we’re so much better than chicago there really isn’t an excuse for this game being close.
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
True.
rufio - April 23, 2010
It was more like an NHL facewash.
woodsmeister - April 22, 2010
Pouncey, I heard you had a problem with big Dlinemen…..meet Shawn Rogers biotch
The Licensed Pessimist - April 22, 2010
hehe
Monsters of the Midway - April 22, 2010
How does Pouncey compare to Mack?
kwoog - April 22, 2010
Knock on Mack was speed and dealing with stunts. Knock on Pouncey is he lacks the ability to counter big DTs bull rush.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
doesn’t compare really. Although Pouncey is a little more mobile than Mack, but Mack is alot stronger at the point
The Licensed Pessimist - April 22, 2010
Mack was the better prospect. Pouncey is good, but I thought Mack was the best I’d seen in several years, not just that class.
rufio - April 23, 2010
Bulaga falling along with Clausen
Matt Y. - April 22, 2010
Bulaga was always considered a mid-late round pick, then he shot up a couple weeks ago.
The Licensed Pessimist - April 22, 2010
Who’s still in the green room apart from Bulaga?
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
If we trade our 2nd, 3rd, 5th and move up while I’m at the store, I’m gunna throw a fit.
Brownie's Year - April 22, 2010
at this point i think our 2nd and 3rd would get us up
The Brown Note - April 22, 2010
i think our second, third, and a viagra would probably get us up.
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
Nice. Rec.
Browns town - April 22, 2010
Gresham to the Bengals
Matt Y. - April 22, 2010
Hope he sucks too.
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
Cavs down 1… 3.8 seconds left though
emily522 - April 22, 2010
It’s REALLY not over until it’s REALLY over.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
FOUL
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
Demaryius Thomas over Dez Bryant for the Broncos? Wow.
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
Wishful thinking but if McCoy is gone by the time we pick and Bryant is there – I wouldn’t mind him.
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
Bryant would be a steal if he drops to us in the second.
woodsmeister - April 22, 2010
Take him over Colt any day of the week. Colt’s falling to the 3rd or late 2nd.
TheDriveStillHurts - April 22, 2010
Hell no he isn’t
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
That’s surprising. Then again he has character issues.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Bryant pull a Crabtree and try to get a contract for more than where he was drafted. If it looks like a diva and smells like a diva…
Browns town - April 22, 2010
Ughhhh that almost went in!
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Ok not almost but you know what I mean
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Game over, Cavs lose.
woodsmeister - April 22, 2010
Some seriously bad officiating in that game.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
Officiating affected the last 5 min of the game. Truth be told they should never have been in that position. You can’t continue to get beat on the offensive boards, allow Rose to drive to the foul line before getting stopped by a defender and let a douche like Noah dictate the tone of the game.
But the last 5 min was disgustingly bad.
Chief WaDrew - April 22, 2010
We’ll win the next 2.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Agreed.
rufio - April 23, 2010
I don’t think losing is all that bad. I don’t like it when there is a whole week off between rounds. Losing a game is good for the team
superbacker56 - April 22, 2010
Hmmmm Pats take Dez?
emily522 - April 22, 2010
We can’t blame the officiating for not playing defense in the first half. Oh well. We’ll get the next one.
iwearmocs - April 22, 2010
Denver is such a trainwreck. Now Bryant slips to Baltimore.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
Funny, Dez not taking as the first overall WR.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
Nice pick for Packers.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Hell of a pick for Green Bay. Solid.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
I wonder if AZ will take Clausen?
emily522 - April 22, 2010
I bet Vikings will actually.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
That’s been my prediction all day, since before we picked. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the 2nd.
TheDriveStillHurts - April 22, 2010
Don’t jinx
TheRealSlimShady - April 22, 2010
Probably. But maybe they want Colt too?
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
Not with the money they’re already giving Leinhart
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
True.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
They actually gave Anderson a pretty decent contract too. Doubt they take a QB.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
Uhh . . . Kyle Wilson (who we apparently were considering at 7) is still available.
TheDriveStillHurts - April 22, 2010
Shoulda traded down. /sarc
Browns town - April 22, 2010
Some said we were. Don’t know if we really were.
Matt Y. - April 22, 2010
It was him or Haden.
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
I think we are taking a Safety or WR (G. Tate?) with the 2nd.
TheDriveStillHurts - April 22, 2010
Nope. McCoy
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
Doubt we take a QB this year.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
never mind that holmgren specifically stated we were.
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
Yay! I just hope the Seahawks don’t take him…
emily522 - April 22, 2010
dumbass ne just traded
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
well nevermind
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
Todd McShay hahahahaha.
Someone tell him they traded the pick.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
The let him go on for like 2 minutes….
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
Haha yeah I was like ummm…?
emily522 - April 22, 2010
i think someone did
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
Ahhh, looks like a nice bunch at the Bryant household. But hey, kid has a ton of talent.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
i don’t see anything wrong there
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
Cowboys get Bryant so he doesn’t fall to the Ravens. Yay!
woodsmeister - April 22, 2010
Ya no shit. I was terrified he was going to Baltimore.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
I’m loving this guys! I hope he just slips a little furhter to Minnesota!
TheRealSlimShady - April 22, 2010
He?
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
you really don’t know who he’s talking about?
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
Sarcasm.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
I hope he gets picked before 38 so we don’t get any funny ideas.
Browns town - April 22, 2010
Indeed!
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
Wouldn’t that be a bitch.
TheRealSlimShady - April 22, 2010
That way you can become a “fan” of them. Ha.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
Exactly
TheRealSlimShady - April 22, 2010
That’s not fanhood, dude. Not even close. Keep lying yourself if it helps you sleep at night though. But that same kind “fan” type can happen by just saying “I’m now a Vikings fan.”
Pretending Clausen gives it legitimacy is just joke.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
OK, then who should I route for
TheRealSlimShady - April 23, 2010
one team.
notthatnoise - April 25, 2010
haden
what are the chances joe haden is turned into a safty since we seem to already have two starters?
nickmar19 - April 22, 2010
hadn’t thought of that, its a possibility.
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
More likely Sheldon to safety. If we wanted a safety we would’ve got E. Thomas. Both were reaches anyway.
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
how can you say we didnt want a safety?
nickmar19 - April 22, 2010
I meant if we wanted a safety at 7. Course we want a safety. Well at least I do.
Either they saw CB as priority over S. Or they think they’re going to move a CB to S.
Or they pick one up later.
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
zero. Better chance they move Brown to safety.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
pretty sure they didn’t know thehyw ere being recorded
sww2109 - April 22, 2010
didn’t you see chris berman trying to tell them to shut up?
sww2109 - April 22, 2010
Wilson to Ravens I bet. Take a sloppy seconds.
Of course
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
TEBOW!!!!!!
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
OH EM GEE!
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
HOLY SHIT!
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
Wow, really?
emily522 - April 22, 2010
LOL, DENVER IS SUCH A JOKE.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
OMFG!!!!!!!!
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
damn sucks for quinn
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
Tebow’s on the phone! Everybody stop what you’re doing!
woodsmeister - April 22, 2010
WTFFFFFFFFFFFFF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
why move up?
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
I’m so confused.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
ROFL, WHAT A JOKE!
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
Clausen just got owned.
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
HAHAHAHA I didn’t think about that.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
hahaha for sure
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
In the FACE!
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
hahaha jaws will be rubbing this in our faces.
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
HAH SUCK IT BRADY YOU PIECE OF CRAP QB
nickmar19 - April 22, 2010
They traded up to take a kid that wasn’t going to be drafted until the 2nd round.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
Kyle Orton, Brady Quinn and Tim Tebow. LULZ
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
Tebow to the Broncos!
Better than to the Patriots or Steelers, I didn’t want him to go to a team I don’t like.
Matt Y. - April 22, 2010
You haven’t been a Browns fan long, eh?
TheDriveStillHurts - April 22, 2010
A 4tth round FB just got drafted in the 1st as a QB
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
Tebow’s like "Damn, I should’ve gone to the draft!’
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
Wow, Denver is going to have a bunch of “really nice” average NFL players.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
maybe Orton will teach Tebow how to get drunken pics all over the internet
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
Jimmy Clausen pulls the trigger
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
???
TheRealSlimShady - April 22, 2010
to kill himself
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
LMAO what a flop LMAO
everyone on ESPN is saying how he’s going to flop!!
The Licensed Pessimist - April 22, 2010
wow
The Brown Note - April 22, 2010
Stupid Denver.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
is that Tebow sucks?
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
Wait, what the heck? All that for Tebow?
When are the Ravens picking now?
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
No word yet on trade details.
woodsmeister - April 22, 2010
Goodell just gave a “WTF” face
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
This just makes it even more likely that McCoy is there for us in round 2.
woodsmeister - April 22, 2010
Clausen could be there in round two
rebuilding year - April 22, 2010
i can’t see him lasting past minni
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
One of those guys doesn’t slip by Minnesota.
woodsmeister - April 22, 2010
I would like that.
Matt Y. - April 22, 2010
What did they trade to move up?
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
a 2, 3, and 4
superbacker56 - April 22, 2010
HOLY SHIT
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
WHAT??????
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
i certainly hope so, i hate denver
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
Question of the draft. I’m baffled.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Oops. Thought that said “why”
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Crazy. But they did manage to stockpile those picks. They did the most wheeling and dealing.
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
HERE COMES ALL PRAISE TO BABY JESUS.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
Jaws is rich now. His boyfriend just got paid.
Brownie's Year - April 22, 2010
McDaniels to work with Tebow. I wish him the best of luck.
Matt Y. - April 22, 2010
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA
DisplacedBuckeye - April 22, 2010
Of course someone’s interviewing him already.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
he sounds like that guy on looney toons. “which way did he go george? which way did he go?”
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
I can’t believe this flop got taken in the first. Are you serious?
The Licensed Pessimist - April 22, 2010
I feel bad for Rufio.
1. He fell asleep or something.
2. He lives in Denver. Ouch
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
They might want to turn on a riot watch or something like that. I know if the Browns just pulled that shit there’d be cars and couches burning the streets.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
I would’ve flipped a shit.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
I’d of gone BEAST MODE on Holmgren’s face
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
I’d of punched bernie’s neighbor, i don’t care where the fuck he went.
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
I don’t understand that whenever you say it.
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
Tim Couch would be burning alive in the streets?
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
Nice.
But, yes. They’d have dragged him back here just to do it. It would have been worth.
Let’s take a moment to enjoy the fact that isn’t the case.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
Haha, I bet it was actually a focus on the family conspiracy (they are HQ’d on Colorado Springs).
rufio - April 23, 2010
I was talking to baby Jesus about my work ethic, my heart, my work ethic, blessed, god, work ethic, all my heart, work hard, baby jesus, work hard, my heart….. praise the lord. BLAH BLAH
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
I wonder what’s going on @ Mile High Report.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
I went to have a look. Too many subject lines.
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
HE’S A WINNER!
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
Quinn + Orton + Tebow = worst trainwreck ever?
BuenosAires_Dawg - April 22, 2010
we have a better QB situation
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
No. None of the Browns QBs are as good as the Broncos’.
TheRealSlimShady - April 22, 2010
seneca wallace is better than brady quinn, jake delhomme had a historically awful year, but his average season is better than Orton’s average season, and brett ratliff is better than tebow
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
orton? tebow? we already got rid of quinn
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
Ha. That’s so false.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
Umm. no.
TheRealSlimShady - April 22, 2010
= too much mcdaniels’s ego
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
WTF is with ESPN. TRADE DETAILS ARSEHOLES.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
Herm Edwards is having trouble reading off his cards in the Joe Haden video here:
http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/draft/live
sww2109 - April 22, 2010
After seeing Denver, I LOVE our QB situation
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
First round QBs taken:
Sam Bradford
Jimmy ClausenTim Tebow???
emily522 - April 22, 2010
I think you messed up.
TheRealSlimShady - April 22, 2010
I’m not saying Jimmy won’t be taken. I’m saying everyone expected Jimmy but Tim took his place essentially.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Just saying I don’t get why Clausen is marked out
TheRealSlimShady - April 22, 2010
because he wasn’t taken in the 1st
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
You like the Broncos HAHA.
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
he changed his mind
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
I would’ve too.
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
for a 2nd?
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
Because he’s the type of fan that is OK with doing that, changing his mind on the teams he likes in moments.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
After seeing Denver, I LOVE our QB situation
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
Safe pick. McCoy is still ours.
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
i’m praying to joe thomas as we speak
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
If Joe Thomas was making the cals, we’d move up for free.
Brownie's Year - April 22, 2010
It’d be funny to see McCoy taken ahead of Clausen too, but it’s not worth the Browns losing him.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
They’re saying they traded 2md, 3rd, and a 4th
The Licensed Pessimist - April 22, 2010
We know.
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
claussen montage time
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
There is literally a fanpost on MHR called “If we draft Tebow, I’m going to PUKE!”
Uh oh.
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
i hope he had a bucket handy
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
Hahaha.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
um, yeah Michael…but if Tebow doesn’t become great Josh McDaniels gets fired
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
NFL Network reporting that Buffalo is crestfallen because they didn’t get Tebow. They ought to be rejoicing.
woodsmeister - April 22, 2010
I’m crushed. I was pretty sure tebow would go in the 20s and I think the Browns probably missed out bigtime. I fucking hate the broncos.
jaws. - April 23, 2010
Yea, I kinda do too.
TheRealSlimShady - April 23, 2010
Why did they just do a Browns draft pick montage?
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
for claussen’s sake i think
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
kyle wilson still on the board
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
maybe teams only see him as a nickel
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
IND will probably take him.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Didnt they have 2 rookie corners last year?
Brownie's Year - April 22, 2010
Oh. Well then nvm. I just assumed b/c there secondary’s not that great. Or maybe it is.
Idk what I’m talking about so ignore me haha.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
i thought you weren’t old enough to drink?
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
Nah, I was asking. I wasn’t really sure.
Brownie's Year - April 22, 2010
i miss a thread jump?
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
golden tate and dan lefevorr! next two picks
nickmar19 - April 22, 2010
Hey Now!
Brownie's Year - April 22, 2010
Colt McCoy will be our 2nd round pick. I’d say I’m 85% sure of that.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Honestly, only QB I’d take there would be Clausen. McCoy is too small.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
Wrong. Soo wrong
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
So’s Drew Brees.
woodsmeister - April 22, 2010
Are you really comparing McNuggett to Brees?
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
? That was a stupid line
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
Just saying there’s more to being a quarterback than having size. Ryan Leaf and Todd Marinovich had NFL quarterback size.
woodsmeister - April 22, 2010
Height wouldn’t be the reason McCoy flops in the NFL. He’s actually taller than Brees.
rufio - April 23, 2010
I would like McCoy, Morgan Burnett, Nate Allen, Vladimir Ducasse, Corey Wootton, Linval Joseph, Arrelious Benn, Brandon Lafell, or Taylor Price
Lots of talent still out there
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
Too bad we don’t 3 2nd round picks
The Licensed Pessimist - April 22, 2010
I wish I could be 85% sure, but I’m not at all. I think we’ll take IF he is available, but I’m worried he just might not be there.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
Oh I’m saying if he is there.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Yeah, I meant if he is there I’m 85% sure.
I think we need to trade up ahead of SEA in the 2nd (unless they take Clausen).
emily522 - April 22, 2010
I’d rather have Arrelious Benn, Brandon Lafell, or Taylor Price than Golden Tate
and I wouldn’t take Lefevour until the 4th round (maybe trade up?)
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
idk about tate i just know our receivers are crap. but i realllly like lafevor. but hes not talked about much?
nickmar19 - April 22, 2010
Looks like Odrick for the Fish.
woodsmeister - April 22, 2010
I’m back, just heard about Tebow. Awesome.
Chris Pokorny - April 22, 2010
Clausen is OFFICIALLY a second rounder.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
HAHAHAHAHAhahahaha!
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
The Vikings could take him
The Licensed Pessimist - April 22, 2010
Why? Vikes could take him.
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
Oh completely forgot damn it.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
Now he’s officially a 2nd rounder. Vikings trade the pick to Lions.
Browns town - April 22, 2010
This will be interesting. I’m thinking Hughes
The Licensed Pessimist - April 22, 2010
So far I’ve had only four picks exactly correct in my mock: the first three, then Berry at #5. I did have San Francisco taking Davis with their first pick, but at 13, not 11.
Matt Y. - April 22, 2010
If anyone here predicted that Clausen would fall to the 2nd, kudos to you.
Browns town - April 22, 2010
I think Bernie19Kosar did.
Matt Y. - April 22, 2010
Everyone.
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
We all certainly wanted it to happen. Can’t say I feel bad for him at all.
Browns town - April 22, 2010
i mean i didn’t think it was out of the realm of possibility, but i didn’t think it would actually happen
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
I know Daniel Jeremiah of MovetheSticks said it from Day 1.
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
hmmmm
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
Scary
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
yeah, now they’ve got a real scary nickle back
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
where do you throw?
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
to a running back, run lots of screens and draws.
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
all game?
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
if they bring 9 all game why not?
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
I wasn’t stating that they should bring all 9.
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
The Jets will bring 11.
rufio - April 23, 2010
Clausen would be a heck of a value in the second round
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
Don’t see how the Browns pass on him if he’s available.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
Kyle Wilson to the Jets.
Chris Pokorny - April 22, 2010
Can their CB situation get any better?
Chris Pokorny - April 22, 2010
He’ll get burned a lot deep. But ya, solid pro longterm.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
and just imagine if brodney pool doesnt get hurt this year. what? it could happen.
StuckInPa - April 22, 2010
If Cromartie remembers how to tackle and Wilson can go from covering WAC defenders inconsistently to covering NFL WRs consistently, then no.
But I’d swap CBs with them in a heartbeat.
rufio - April 23, 2010
Minn’s going to take Clausen.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Just thinking…Brandon McDonald might not bounce back from this demotion
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
i don’t think i want him to
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
…unless he shocks us all and lines up at FS
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
Why would he line up there, when we have Eric Wright to do that?
Matt Y. - April 22, 2010
…..
/jk
Matt Y. - April 22, 2010
I didn’t know he was ever in a position to bounce back. He was never starter material.
Browns town - April 22, 2010
The Jets can fucking blitz 9 guys now. Thats crazy
The Licensed Pessimist - April 22, 2010
and get burned on screens
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
i hate the jets.
sww2109 - April 22, 2010
I hope they blitz all 9 at once against us.
Brownie's Year - April 22, 2010
Joe T, Eric, Mack, and Vickers could handle 7 of them
I’m sure our RG & RT can manage 1 on 1
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
i really think we oughta wait til the later rounds, throw our lot with a late round QB like Lafevour or Brown, and adress our defensive backfield in these earlier rounds. Next year’s QB draft class is more promising IMO and we have enough now at QB to improve on our gains last year.
troy145 - April 22, 2010
Mays might be there.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
Drew Brees the new Madden coverboy. Sorry, New Orleans. Back to back ain’t happenin’ for ya.
woodsmeister - April 22, 2010
That means that thing on his face will break it’s leg.
Brownie's Year - April 22, 2010
these espn commentators are ridiculous
sww2109 - April 22, 2010
I’ve switched to NFL Network, despite the icky presence of Michael Irvin.
woodsmeister - April 22, 2010
Minnesota has traded to Detroit and looks like the Lions are taking Jahvid Best.
woodsmeister - April 22, 2010
Now Clausen is a second rounder! HAhahahaha.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
Vikings trading pick to Lions?
Yeah, Clausen’s a 2nd rounder now for sure barring trade.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Ahh…Oh well
TheRealSlimShady - April 22, 2010
Vikings still get Clausen.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
I’d say it’s more likely now than ever.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
How?
emily522 - April 22, 2010
Nvm
emily522 - April 22, 2010
They just got Detroit’s 2nd rounder.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
Not a good day to be a former Notre Dame QB.
golanbatrac - April 22, 2010
no kidding
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
“It’s never a good day to be a former Notre Dame QB” – Rick Mirer
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
Then Joe Montana appeared, and everything changed.
TheRealSlimShady - April 22, 2010
um?
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
..in his big ass Skechers.
StuckInPa - April 22, 2010
Hahaha
rufio - April 23, 2010
I’m sure Clausen is happy about joining the Vikings though, unless money is more important than winning, which is the case for A LOT of players.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
this could be bad, now vikings may still take a QB (clausen or mccoy) if they get detroits 2nd rounder ahead of us
sww2109 - April 22, 2010
I feel pretty confident we are going to have good options available with the 2nd round pick. With those 3 3rd rounders and a whole night to reset our draft board…that could be interesting.
APV - April 22, 2010
why did they show that? sickening
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
That was scary and extremely nasty. I cringed for like a minute
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
I must have missed it…?
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
What did they show? Wasn’t paying attention.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
Jahvid Best’s injury. Brutal.
Browns town - April 22, 2010
Well, it’s not that bad. Thought they showed a broken bone or something. It is injury history.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
No, it was bad.
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
they showed him landing, helmet popping off, and him frozen on the ground = bad
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
best’s concussion
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
what about mays in the second? anyone cool with that
The Brown Note - April 22, 2010
Nope
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
I’m not.
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
If McCoy is still available, no. On second thought…just no.
Browns town - April 22, 2010
This.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
Why are you guys so in love with a QB who won’t play until year two at best? I don’t get it.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
Would anyone we draft tom. be a surefire starter?
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
Back to Mays, last time I checked we don’t have a safety. He’d start.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
I’m not against Mays or McCoy tom., i was just wondering if anyone we took tom. would be inked in as a starter
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
however if we want to get a potential starting QB this year, will we wait past tom.?
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
We don’t need a “potential” starting QB for this year. That’s why we signed Delhomme and traded for Wallace. No QB we draft this year is seeing the field beyond injury to our first two guys.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
I"m not talking about starting this year, i’m talking about for the future, i don’t see wallace or delhomme being our starter of the future. I thought Holmgren made a comment about taking a QB this year, which is why i said “potential starting QB this year”
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
We’re thinking beyond 2010 though. We almost all agree that a rookie QB needs to sit and learn for at least a year, why not now under a good veteran?
Browns town - April 22, 2010
Good value in the 2nd round. Accurate, hard worker, smart. Should be a great fit for the WCO.
Browns town - April 22, 2010
Ultimate Smokescreen
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
woah!!!
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
woah!!!
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
Barring any last second catastrophes, I’m pretty happy with round one.
1. The Browns didn’t mortgage the rest of the draft chasing Bradford or Berry.
2. The Browns got Haden.
3. The Browns didn’t take Clausen or Tebow.
4. The Steelers didn’t get Iupati.
5. The Browns still have all of their picks.
golanbatrac - April 22, 2010
+1
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
And the Ravens robbed Denver of a 2,3 and 4. Sorry to buzzkill. Although they didn’t get Bryant.
woodsmeister - April 22, 2010
Good Lord! To think, there was plenty of talk last year about bringing McDaniels to Cleveland. Thank god we dodged that bullet.
golanbatrac - April 22, 2010
He has been an unmitigated disaster.
Roger Dorn - April 22, 2010
We could still end up with Clausen.
Roger Dorn - April 22, 2010
To me Clausen (don’t know why i keep putting “ss”) on Friday is better than Clausen thursday
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
Yeah. Douche or not, he’ll be hard to pass up at 39.
golanbatrac - April 22, 2010
Bingo.
Bernie19Kosar - April 22, 2010
I will pass him.
Roger Dorn - April 23, 2010
I don’t think the Vikings will pass on him. But if they do, I’d still MUCH rather have McCoy.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
This.
Browns town - April 22, 2010
I think I agree. There’s just something about Clausen that’s iffy too me. Idk.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
ha ha!!! Gruden is drunk!!!
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
I’m not watching anymore. What’s happening?
skipkirk - April 22, 2010
He’s been acting drunk since this began.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
He said something about dumbass when they came back from commercial
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
I believe he said “dumbass coaches”
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
I was wondering i just heard the dumbass, wonder if he was still talking about tebow
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
He’s trying to void his ESPN contract so he can coach.
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
GRUDEN"S GOT HIS DICK OUT!
golanbatrac - April 22, 2010
Watch his face as other people talk! I shit you not, this guy is making funny faces at them.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
Gruden’s baked.
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
would not be surprised.
notthatnoise - April 22, 2010
Clausen has been working with professional QB trainers since he was in 8th grade so that he could be a first round pick…he’s probably about to kill himself right now.
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
I wonder if we’ll have two second round picks tomorrow.
Brownie's Year - April 22, 2010
FYI, from Michael Smith, it was Mangini that wanted Kyle Wilson.
Roger Dorn - April 22, 2010
Dodged a bullet there phew
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
Michael Smith also said we were seriously discussing trading our entire draft on Bradford. The idea was completely ridiculous.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
It was a direct quote from Mangini
Roger Dorn - April 22, 2010
I rest my case. We basically have him out there talking out of his ass. It’s funny.
gentryholdem - April 22, 2010
I’m still excited about the chance of him to go to Minnesota.
TheRealSlimShady - April 22, 2010
So TJ can beat him out??
Same here!
SpecialBrownie - April 22, 2010
I’d say it’s VERY likely.
But still, your “fanhood” is a total joke, dude. If you want to be a fan of the Vikings because they win, then be a fan of Vikings.
Simmsinns - April 22, 2010
Clausen could fall to 49ers at 49. Haha.
palcal - April 22, 2010
Clausen in the second would be a good value
The Licensed Pessimist - April 22, 2010
for us
The Licensed Pessimist - April 22, 2010
I agree, I’d love to grab him in the second but I don’t see him getting past KC with Charlie Weis there. They have the 4th pick of the 2nd round.
Buckeye Brad - April 22, 2010
I think Seattle may pick him.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
hopefully we trade a 3rd and 5th and move up
The Licensed Pessimist - April 22, 2010
if we trade a 3rd and a 5th to move up and get Clausen he would lose all value of being there in the 2nd, outside of his contract
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
trading one of the many picks we have, that we probably wouldn’t use effectively anyway, wouldn’t affect value; especially since we’ll be saving 30 million
The Licensed Pessimist - April 22, 2010
Trading a pick away because we probably won’t use it effectively is a terrible rationale.
Roger Dorn - April 23, 2010
How would we be saving 30 million? a third and a fifth, no matter the position, will top out at 10 million combined.
golanbatrac - April 23, 2010
The important thing is that there are still plenty of teams standing between us and Clausen.
golanbatrac - April 22, 2010
Wow, considering walterfootball loves ripping the Browns, I’m surprised he gave our pick an “A”.
emily522 - April 22, 2010
I think he went back and changed it. He now has it as a B. I just figured it out…walterfootball IS TRSS…
I am thinking “what is up with walterfootball’s man love for clausen” and then it hit me. He gave Arizona a D for their pick b/c they got a good value on a NT instead of taking clausen.
bross09 - April 24, 2010
Ha Bradford goes 1st and Tebow is the lead
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
Well, that’s because the first thing was expected and the second thing was not.
Buckeye Brad - April 22, 2010
If i’m the number 1 pick, i want to be the lead.
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
You get 50 million dollars. I think being the lead on draft day takes a back seat.
DisplacedBuckeye - April 23, 2010
That doesn’t matter. The lead is the biggest story, what most people will be talking about, and that’s not the Rams picking the guy everyone expected them to take at 1. Tim Tebow going as high as he did is undoubtedly a big story.
You know, ESPN could do many things better, but people can take it way too far, looking to critcize every little thing they do. Tim Tebow is a big story and people want to talk about him, whether you like it or not.
Buckeye Brad - April 23, 2010
Tebow was going to be the lead no matter what. ESPN is probably bumming that he didn’t fall to the second day, because it would have doubled the television audience. For whatever reason Tebow is the biggest draw in the whole draft, period.
jaws. - April 23, 2010
Tom is pissed
Villeslgr - April 22, 2010
Who?
golanbatrac - April 23, 2010
I’m pretty sure picking Joe Haden means moving Sheldon Brown to safety.
StuckInPa - April 22, 2010
The Eagles moved Troy Vincent from corner to safety when Heckert was there, btw
Bumblyjack - April 22, 2010
Mangini said he wouldn’t be moving to safety.
Buckeye Brad - April 23, 2010
Probably only in the scenario where Mike Adams remains atop the depth chart come training camp.
Roger Dorn - April 23, 2010
He has said he’s lined CBs up at FS to have them come down to cover slot WRs though.
It makes sense to do, but you are tipping your hand as to your coverage.
rufio - April 23, 2010
3 guys I want in Kindle, Clausen, and Mays at worst end up with Price or McCoy. Good night for the Browns
riter - April 23, 2010
we still need a safety who can cover – nate allen or morgan burnett at #38 please – not mays – his own coach passed on him to draft earl thomas.
barryc - April 23, 2010
looking back, I know it sucks that kansas city got berry, but maybe it was for the best. Sheldon brown is nice, but this was a very deep CB draft with a lot of good players. however, there was a huge CB run in the late first and by the time we picked, most of the guys I liked were off the board in the 2nd round anyways. personally I would rather have haden and ward than berry and speivey.
