After all of the discussions surrounding who the Cleveland Browns are going to take in the first and second rounds of the draft, we will see just how close some of our predictions come to being true next Thursday for the 2010 NFL Draft. As a reminder, the format for the NFL Draft has changed this year to cater to prime time television.
The NFL Draft will be covered by the NFL Network, ESPN, Sirius Radio, and many other outlets during the three days.
Strategically, the change in structure also allows teams to recompile their draft boards overnight for the more important selections in the second in third rounds. Perhaps that will prevent more highly-rated prospects from slipping through the cracks. We could also see more teams work out trades to get some of the prospects who slipped out of the first round.
The NFL Draft is always a big day traffic wise here at SB Nation. During each of the three days, we'll have an Open Thread on Dawgs By Nature, as well as posts covering each of the draft picks we make. During those times, please keep the FanPosts and FanShots to a minimum regarding the draft -- try to keep most of the discussions in the Open Threads.
In preparation for the week leading up to the draft, we'll be kicking up our coverage and recapping all of the possible scenarios that could occur on draft day with the Browns.

One week!!! Can’t wait…hey we should do a mock draft to see who we would pick if we were in charge………

we could always do mock drafts for other teams. like picking the worst possiblr player forthe other division opponents.

HAHA love it.

i don’t know how we could possibly “kick up our coverage”

I’ll try to find some topics related to the draft that haven’t been discussed yet, even if the topics are obscure/bizarre.
Chris Pokorny - April 15, 2010
Yea it’s been getting boring around here on DBN. We need something to discuss
The Licensed Pessimist - April 15, 2010
How ’bout a mock draft…
I kid, I kid…
The more obscure, the better, Chris.
Andrew Tolliver - April 15, 2010
Draft time is my favorite time of the year. It’s a bigger event to me than even the superbowl
The Licensed Pessimist - April 15, 2010
I think this is a sad commentary on the state of the Browns the last couple of decades.
fivekmd - April 15, 2010
Because the Browns are involved.

HOORAY, we mean something to something important!

I just read a few of the comments made by Holmgren and Heckert today at the pre-draft press conference, and I am happy with the way that they’ve spun the whole Jimmy Clausen thing. It seems that we’re now in a much better position to trade down if Clausen is available and Berry isn’t.

love that signature…lol…love demitri as well. Don’t like his TV show, but his stand-up routines are hilarious.
Kimble_79 - April 15, 2010
Anything he does is hilarious. Daniel Tosh too..
Andrew Tolliver - April 15, 2010
I disagree. I have seen tosh do standup and he is hilarious. however, I don’t like Tosh.0. To me the problem isn’t him, so much it is the premise of the show and some of the crappy writing.
bross09 - April 15, 2010
I find your lack in the Tosh disturbing.
Andrew Tolliver - April 15, 2010
I like his standup but not the show…not really his fault though. The premise doesn’t interest me at all and it is very uninteresting material. if they put a mediocre comedian on that show, it could be used for torture at guantanamo. tosh is the only thing that makes it bearable to me.
bross09 - April 16, 2010
(when i say I disagree I disagree anything tosh does is hilarious)

Still don’t like this new draft setup. I have to get off work early on Friday just to catch our pick.

I really hate the new draft times. I teach a class at 8 on Thursday night so I’ll miss pretty much the entire first round. It’s not as fun to find out afterwards what happens as it is watching it in the moment, especially if the Browns are making trades again like they did last year.
Buckeye Brad - April 16, 2010
you want me to “tweet” you the play by play?

Kimble_79 - April 16, 2010
Well you are a math teacher, use the draft trade chart and have the students try and find the best trade down scenario possible for the Rams.
Then turn on the draft and see if it plays out that way.
Dilemma solved.
Bernie19Kosar - April 16, 2010
That’s a fantastic idea!
Buckeye Brad - April 16, 2010
I enjoyed devoting an entire Saturday to the draft, but I’m warming to the primetime split up.
gahnki - April 16, 2010
Yes, unfortunately I’ll have to miss Thursday’s round one too beyond my phone. I should be geared up for Friday at least.
Chris Pokorny - April 17, 2010
I missed the draft last year because of prom. I was so excited to see the Browns’s pick and right before I left they traded down to the Jets. I had to go look at the TV during after prom to find out who we picked.
emily522 - April 17, 2010
Your prom was Saturday morning?
Brownie's Year - April 18, 2010
times are changing
I don’t like the times I am in Iraq that means it starts at O dark 30 for me and I have no clue how AFN will screw up the draft coverage probably play it in the morning. No worries I guess.

Usually NFL.com has a feed but every time I’ve tried accessing it there are heaps of other people watching as well so I can’t even connect. Try an online stream if the connection is any good over there.

I will try NFL.com and see what I get. I retired from the military back in 08. I am working with a contractor here on Camp Liberty.
