Here is where we are at right now.
The Browns gave out no first round tenders. But they went crazy with second rounders, handing out SIX second round tenders to Elam, Roth, Trusnik, Vickers, DQ and Harrison.
To me that seems like the Browns are hanging a For Sale sign out front on these players.
What moves will the Browns make? Who should the Browns be looking at?

The Colts decided not to tender Marlin Jackson. Jackson has had a lot of injuries over the past two seasons, but he is still a talented player who has some upside.
Daniel Jeremiah of Movethesticks.com, is reporting that some teams have some very valuable players out for trade right now. With all of his contacts in Cleveland (he is a former Browns employee under Mankok) I wonder if the Browns are one of those teams?
Charles Grant of the World Champion Saints will be cut tomorrow. Grant (6-3 285lbs) could maybe be a fit in the 3-4 front of the Browns, depending on what Ryan and Mangini have cooked up. Grant always has seemed like an underachiever, but has talent.
Antonio Cromartie has been traded to the Jets for a third rounder in '11 could be a second rounder with playing time incentives. Wish the Browns would have jumped in on this one. We really could have used another CB.
More to follow.

Low pick for Williams? How low is low? I wasn’t high on him staying, but I wanted some sorta value if we traded him.
Anything lower than a 4th and I rather him stay then.

5th at worst, 4th at best. I am happy.

I agree, it could be one of those picks the Browns can just through in a trade to get somebody they really like, which I think most teams would value more than a 30 year old DL making about 6 million per year.

That is all the info I can find right now.

Thanks for keeping us up-to-date by the way.

No problem.
I will be dumping all the new stuff in this thread from now on, unless the Browns make another big splash.

Quick heads up, I will be putting all new tidbits of info in this thread to try and keep everything in some sort of order.
The Corey Williams trade happening minutes after I posted this kind of messed me up.

I think the 2nd round thing is brilliant for a few reasons.
a) with a second rounder (like B19K pointed out at one point) you still get great players at a bargain price.
b) It looks like the front office is not completely sold on some of these guys. they think they are good but wouldn’t mind seeing them part for the right price. They are looking at this draft and realizing that it is very deep. I think they are trying to get at least one more second rounder. it is likely at least one of these players on tender leaves IMO.

I don’t know how jackson will hold up in a man. he is brilliant in the tampa 2 and is great against the run but in his pro career, doesn’t have much man coverage experience. also, he doesn’t have that great of speed which makes me worry even more about his man skills…

Williams
I agree heavily with the Browns on this one. The guy just didn’t live up to what we thought we had in him. Send em packing and collect those draft picks baby. At this rate we are gonna have some a)great trade bait with picks or b)a huge upgrade to the team with all these picks in the draft!
Go Brownies!

You can´t fool us. Those aren´t second round tenders, they are second round designations, questionable ones except for Abe Elam.
Usually you get one second round pick per year, how do we get away with handing out such designations like it´s not worth anything?

Please explain your issue further. I’m actually curious, but I really can’t tell what you’re saying.

Really not worth trying.
TheDriveStillHurts - March 5, 2010
Were there reports on the Browns players going communist? Because in a free market setting their approaching fraudulent.

Eagles made Leonard Weaver the highest paid FB in the NFL.
Jim Brown just pooped his pants.
Bernie19Kosar - March 5, 2010
I´d match that. Freaky Flanker!

While listening to THE REALLY BIG SHOW
during commericals, Munch mentions he would like to give up a 5th for Troy Smith (if I heard correctly)…I think he’s crazy, anyone’s thoughts?
NormanConquest - March 5, 2010
lots of thoughts on this elsewhere in other threads. seems consensus is to make him an offer (i.e., worth a 5th rounder), but i’m not part of the consensus.
