The passing game has been a little funner to watch under quarterback Colt McCoy, but the offense only put a touchdown on the board in the first half. The Browns' defense has struggled against Cincinnati's running game, but the Bengals only have a three-point advantage. Will the Browns be able to overcome their 10-7 deficit in the second half?

Go Browns!
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
St. Clair sucks
Brownie's Year - December 19, 2010
OY!
JustBob - December 19, 2010
defense gotta step it up. you can’t make cedric benson look that good
davus - December 19, 2010
The defense has been on the field way too long. And this time, it’s not the offenses fault. Hopefully things turn around here in the second.
Cant_buy_a_run - December 19, 2010
Stream on FirstRow appears to have been cut. Anyone know of another?
dmbshn41 - December 19, 2010
Try reloading now that the second has started.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
I’ve been looking to the ‘Connecting to Channel’ ever since halftime show was over. Any suggestions?
dmbshn41 - December 19, 2010
NM, got it
dmbshn41 - December 19, 2010
Even Dawson’s kick offs are awful.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
Fire Seely NOW!
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
Ha.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - December 19, 2010
He’s the only hitter we’ve got.
golanbatrac - December 19, 2010
Is the wind super strong or something? We didn’t go for the Dawson FG earlier, and his kickoffs are very low and short.
Chris Pokorny - December 19, 2010
The Bengals’ kickoffs have been short too.
Chris Pokorny - December 19, 2010
6 mph was the last I heard. it might have gotten worse since then, though
davus - December 19, 2010
Isn’t it pretty cold there?
JustBob - December 19, 2010
Sweet more bad tackling
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
It’s back on? I’m out.
Brownie's Year - December 19, 2010
Haden is looking pretty bad so far
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
Yep.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
Who the hell says that, seriously?
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
was he talking about carson’s pass just now? that was ball hung badly
davus - December 19, 2010
Why can’t we do that?
portland, oregon - December 19, 2010
Pass pro not as good, WR routes not as good …
JustBob - December 19, 2010
No WRs and an under-performing offensive line are not helping.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
Also, our coverage has lacked a bit.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
maybe
the zebras are gonna call holding in the secnd half on Cincy
Juannieboy - December 19, 2010
Thank you, TJ.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
We are going to win this game.
golanbatrac - December 19, 2010
drunk already?
Juannieboy - December 19, 2010
Third and long beat us again.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
Announcers are pretty bad. I’ve noticed all season long that Cleveland is getting some bad announcers.
dmbshn41 - December 19, 2010
Why does Eric Wright always look so lackadaisical when he is out there before the snap?
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
I wouldn’t care if he performed after the snap.
LondonBrown - December 19, 2010
Nice breakup by ward
bross09 - December 19, 2010
13 Unanswered points
Come on Browns and Colt….a td is needed…badly
Juannieboy - December 19, 2010
I’ll stick with my pregame prediction:
Browns 27, Bungles 13
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
yup. still a chance for a second half explosion. remember bengals vs. bills?
davus - December 19, 2010
Bengals vs Saints…Bengals vs Buccaneers??
dmbshn41 - December 19, 2010
Cribs just isn’t getting good blocks here.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
Im really starting to think that our success early in season was similar to ‘07. No one had footage on DA, and didnt give us half a thought. Since we beat the Saints and Patriots, people are checking up, and shutting down Hillis. We’ve got to do more offensively. Daboll gone, McDaniels in?
dmbshn41 - December 19, 2010
You’re forgetting the change that occurred at QB and RT after those games against the Saints and Patriots.
Chris Pokorny - December 19, 2010
I’m starting to feel like RT is as much a priority for us as WR.
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
Who started the year for us, Pashos or Womack? They’ll be back and Luvao will be better?
LondonBrown - December 19, 2010
anyone but St Clair
Karen Marie - December 19, 2010
Why don’t they let him sit?
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
We need a returner.
golanbatrac - December 19, 2010
What’s the deal today? I just tuned in and took a quick look at the stats for McCoy… It looks like he’s been accurate but has a low YPC. Has Daboll been doing his usual sissy play calling? Maybe we can try challenging his arm a little bit?
shep615 - December 19, 2010
he has, they’ve been incomplete.
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
We have thrown deep but the recs usually weren’t open and the balls were usually underthrown
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
Can we try some outside runs?
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
Well…how about something other than up the middle
dmbshn41 - December 19, 2010
Why the f*ck do they keep comparing to his Big 12 play? I hate these guys so damn much!
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
How many of the last 4 games do we win this year? Do we really feel better about the team this year?
palcal - December 19, 2010 via mobile
Is this a serious question?!?!?!
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
Including todays game, there are only 3 games left.
dmbshn41 - December 19, 2010
Bengals 41, Browns 7
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
LOL
looks like handwriting is on the wall…Bengals playing today…browns -not
Juannieboy - December 19, 2010
We can blame Cribb’s injury for our poor returns, but what is up with our kick and punt coverage?
JustBob - December 19, 2010
Good question!
RelapsingDawgCatcher - December 19, 2010
this sucks
davus - December 19, 2010
This is f$&@ing disgusting.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
Only Houston can make this Sunday just barely bearable now.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
Did he just say 9:17 left to go in third quarter???
dmbshn41 - December 19, 2010
Probably.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
We should consider Haden for the kickoff here for a spark.
Chris Pokorny - December 19, 2010
That would be a good changeup
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
That or … 10,000 gigawatts!
JustBob - December 19, 2010
I would, and I may be Josh’s biggest fan.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - December 19, 2010
Cincy O line is killing us. Mr. Ryan, tear down that wall.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
Hillis? 27 yards. No rushing game.
palcal - December 19, 2010 via mobile
Really need more than a 3 and out here
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
done
davus - December 19, 2010
Good clock management.
palcal - December 19, 2010 via mobile
I was never fond of wasting timeouts in the third quarter.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
Here we go!
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
there we go!
davus - December 19, 2010
Hillis breaks one
palcal - December 19, 2010 via mobile
Hikkkis!
golanbatrac - December 19, 2010
Hillis!
golanbatrac - December 19, 2010
Haha
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
Funny to also hear the crowd erupt for the Browns. We travel far better to Cinci, than they do to Cleveland.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
Time for play action.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
That works great too!
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
Close enough!
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
Hillis doin’ work!
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
Now we’re coming alive…
dmbshn41 - December 19, 2010
First and goal – now what? Pound it or play action?
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
we get 3 plays
troy145 - December 19, 2010
I’m not opposed to trying that 4 strait play action strategy.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
that was the play against pittsburgh
troy145 - December 19, 2010
Solid end to the half, hopefully we can punch it in right at the start of the fourth. I’d hate to waste three plays of clock only to settle for three.
Chris Pokorny - December 19, 2010
Love the coaching decision to run up and get one more rush play off before the third quarter ended too. That’s what I always advocate but never see from teams who are down multiple possessions.
Chris Pokorny - December 19, 2010
Hikkkis is Beast.
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
Why are you calling him that? is he racialist?
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
Raciakist actuakky.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
violent racism is always good for a laugh
troy145 - December 19, 2010
thats the first rule of comedy
troy145 - December 19, 2010
I should have stayed in bed.
golanbatrac - December 19, 2010
its okay. the best players still perform on their off days.
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
I wouldnt even want to remember every day of my life.
troy145 - December 19, 2010
Shoot, they didn’t get it in the third quarter? :-/
Chris Pokorny - December 19, 2010
yeah, how was that not a 1st down?
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
Checked the replay just now, his behind was on the ground shy of the marker.
Chris Pokorny - December 19, 2010
Shit I thought it was 1st and goal?
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
Me too. So much for the new glasses.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
gosh durnit
davus - December 19, 2010
This is a must go in my opinion, oh well.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
No take the points and hope the defense wakes up too
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
it’s a 1 score game now. no gripes from me.
davus - December 19, 2010
Closing to within six early in the fourth is okay by me, but we gotta get some defense here.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
yup. gotta focus on ced ben
davus - December 19, 2010
They’ve nearly done their time on the pitch already. We get murdered on time of posession every game.
LondonBrown - December 19, 2010
Browns 17, Bungles 16
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
remember that show “The Early Edition?”
troy145 - December 19, 2010
take the 3 points bruh
troy145 - December 19, 2010
SH**!!!TT my stream is dead!
burntorangeandbrown - December 19, 2010
Ugh – its back. Missed the end of the last series dammit.
burntorangeandbrown - December 19, 2010
wright is down. there goes the season.
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
We can survive losing Wright, but we really need Rubin to stay on the field.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
You hear proud they were that they new a Browns’ player’s name and corresponding number?
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
Fingers crossed. Hope it’s a bad one!
golanbatrac - December 19, 2010
lol that’s horrible
davus - December 19, 2010
Well there ya go, that looked nasty.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
I am not having flashbacks of Buffalo. I am not having flashbacks of Buffalo. I am not having flashbacks of Buffalo….
RelapsingDawgCatcher - December 19, 2010
at least we still hav st clair
troy145 - December 19, 2010
Very creative – run Hillis up the middle right on third down deep in the red zone.
Who’d have ever guessed?
burntorangeandbrown - December 19, 2010
Is Sheldon Brown active for this game?
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
define “active”
troy145 - December 19, 2010
Not injured, able to get snaps.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
you mean shnapps?
troy145 - December 19, 2010
Yeah, he’s active. Just made a nice break up right there.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
they say that breaking up is hard to do
troy145 - December 19, 2010
Yes.
golanbatrac - December 19, 2010
Bengals 30, Browns 10
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
They are still the Bungles.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
Ah, crap.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - December 19, 2010
that sucks
davus - December 19, 2010
Well, that was unpleasant.
portland, oregon - December 19, 2010
Defense? Anyone?
JustBob - December 19, 2010
the sky, clearly, is falling.
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
the browns need to force a FG and bring in shaun rogers to block it
davus - December 19, 2010
and then run it back and get the 2pt conversion
troy145 - December 19, 2010
I’d do the Ichey Shuffle.
golanbatrac - December 19, 2010
Ickey.
golanbatrac - December 19, 2010
Can I predict a pick in the end zone?
JustBob - December 19, 2010
No.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
Miss Cleo I am not.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
God damn it, why the f*ck would they take out Cedric Benson?
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
flag
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
If we are going to allow yards, I want it through only one of their players, that would be Benson.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
Don’t get me wrong, if I could press a button before this game that would cause Benson to fumble five times and gain no yards, I’d have pressed it even with him starting on my fantasy team.
But I don’t have that damn button.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
fantasy?
macdowellm03 - December 19, 2010
Yes. Playoffs, $ league.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
oh. i have him but didnt use him.
macdowellm03 - December 19, 2010
Browns 20, Bungles 19
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
A W is a W!
RelapsingDawgCatcher - December 19, 2010
let colt mccoy take over the game. score a TD and let the defense have a good, long rest. come back and win.
davus - December 19, 2010
criqui needs to retire…. he called palmer peyton manning
macdowellm03 - December 19, 2010
These announcers are so lame they dont even correct their mistakes. Criqui on a offensive 5 yard penalty says it is 1st and five and no one in the trailer bothers to correct him. Buerlein says Stuckey never gets yardage after the catch. That is the only yardage he ever gets…duh
Karen Marie - December 19, 2010
So does today’s defensive performance calm the Ryan HC talk?
Browns town - December 19, 2010
YES Ryan was outcoached badly today
Karen Marie - December 19, 2010
put benard back on kickoffs from now on.
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
For real. That was better than any return Cribbs has given us in weeks.
golanbatrac - December 19, 2010
MY heart just stopped.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
And now it has sunk.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
Bengals 40, Browns 10
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
flag
North Coast Flea - December 19, 2010
What the hell happened to our o-line? I guess we never had the right side.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
What o-line?
burntorangeandbrown - December 19, 2010
Why do we suck all of the sudden?
Browns town - December 19, 2010
punting it is practically giving the bengals points
davus - December 19, 2010
Ha, so is going for it. We are not very good.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
i’m not questioning the decision to punt or anything, just saying how bad the defense has been so far
davus - December 19, 2010
the best thing that gets us is hodges to the pro bowl
macdowellm03 - December 19, 2010
Can we please try Womack at RT and Lauvao at RG?
Chris Pokorny - December 19, 2010
yeah. st. claire is a bum, and the o-line did pretty well with that setup
davus - December 19, 2010
Can we try anyone at RT other than St. Clair?
Browns town - December 19, 2010
How bad is Lauvao if they don’t have the confidence to bring him out though?
North Coast Flea - December 19, 2010
Yeah but i had that rationale about Colt earlier this season too, so meh.
troy145 - December 19, 2010
i wish
macdowellm03 - December 19, 2010
I think maybe Mangini is losing his job right . . . . NOW.
portland, oregon - December 19, 2010
New poll: How many repeats of the Buffalo game will it take to cost Mangini his job?
RelapsingDawgCatcher - December 19, 2010
I wouldn’t make the call myself, but you could be right.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
i dont want mangini to go :c
troy145 - December 19, 2010
OK we do need a RT more than anything else.
You heard it here last.
LondonBrown - December 19, 2010
The offense isn’t a surprise, but this D is terrible.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
1st rd: Julio 2nd rd: RT
troy145 - December 19, 2010
i was thinking the same thing.
davus - December 19, 2010
Still need someone to throw to.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
…Julio?
troy145 - December 19, 2010
Oops.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
honestly, this defense looks worse today than any other game this season. maybe I’m overreacting.
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
No. You are not.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
You’re spot on.
This is the Bungles. Palmer throws Delhommes vs. most other defenses. We make him look like a reasonable starting QB in the NFL. That’s just sad.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
Damn it, put in Benson for f***s sake.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
both lines are getting slaughtered.
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
defense especially.
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
This. Damn.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - December 19, 2010
A stop?!
JustBob - December 19, 2010
A day late and a dollar short.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
This team hasn’t showed up at all the last 2 weeks. I really not sure what all the Mangini fans are seeing here
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
So if this performance means the end for Mangini, who is the vote for HC? Gruden for me.
Browns town - December 19, 2010
Tony Dungy, not that he would come here. Maybe Jon Harbaugh?
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
Dungy is a twat.
golanbatrac - December 19, 2010
No actually you are
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
How very clever of you.
golanbatrac - December 19, 2010
I’m with golan on Dungy.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
same.
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
You’re right, he just turned the worst team of all time into a SB contender and won a SB for the Colts. He mentors troubled youth and behaves classy all the time – what a twat. Compared to a cynical prick who lives in his mom’s basement? sure
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
Drop it.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - December 19, 2010
Irony of the day!
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
Not sure you know what that word means
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
who is this “worst team of all time?”
bross09 - December 19, 2010
The Bucs
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
thats a gross exaggeration. Especially if you look at the fact that the team was at least somewhat respectable at times the 2 years before Dungy got there. I will take the Sam Wyche led Bucs over the Millen era Lions any day of the week.
bross09 - December 19, 2010
No. they weren’t. stop being a tool and talking about things you know nothing about.
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
look, if you want to add something to the discussion or try to back up your point, great. otherwise, you need to stop posting.
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
please don’t resort to insults. that doesn’t do you any good.
years with 3 wins or less: Detroit 4/8. Tampa 0/4
years with 5 wins or less: Detroit 6/8. Tampa 2/4
Overall Winning % Detroit: 25. Tampa 36.
Now look at all of the history of the Tampa Franchise: 31%.
Even if you take one of the top 5 worst franchises between 1970-1990, they are still worlds better than the crap that Matt Millen created.
bross09 - December 20, 2010
Tampa Press asks the coach(my mind is going. John ____ from USC) “What do you think of your teams execution today?” He answers “I’m all for it” Best line ever in football
Karen Marie - December 19, 2010
for real? wait two more games.
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
Wait for what? We don’t beat the teams we should beat. End of story
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
but we also beat teams we shouldn’t. don’t judge a coach until you see the body of work.
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
All our coaches have beaten teams they shouldn’t have. I think we’ve seen the body of work and I just don’t see Mangini taking a team to the SB ever being as stubborn as he is
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
Ok really? How has he been stubborn? do you have any actual examples?
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
well I think you made that clear when we were winning and playing close against good teams HenryDawg…so you have a predisposition for this thought so I will just ignore you on this.
bross09 - December 19, 2010
I really want Mangini to stay, i don’t know that Holmgren sees it the same way as me though. I think that this performance along with last weeks may be too much to overlook.
Browns town - December 19, 2010
I really want Mangini to stay, i don’t know that Holmgren sees it the same way as me though. I think that this performance along with last weeks may be too much to overlook.
Browns town - December 19, 2010
Yikes. Sorry for the double post.
Browns town - December 19, 2010
why? because they’re the most recent performances? why are these games weighted more heavily than the Patriots and Saints and Jets?
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
often the end of the season gets significantly more weight than the beginning…its a “what have you done for me lately” phenomenon.
bross09 - December 19, 2010
I just think when you look at the season as a whole it’s easy to see why we’ve looked bad lately. Mainly, injuries and poor QB play.
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
today had nothing really to do with poor QB play.
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
but a lot to do with injuries.
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
yeah, I’ll give you that one.
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
Every team has injuries. Good teams plug in new players, bad teams cry about it.
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
you’re not gonna hurt yourself tonight, are you?
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
you are insufferable.
good teams have depth, bad teams don’t. how is it the coaches fault that we don’t have depth?
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
Really? who Quarterbacked the Steelers when Rothlisberger was out? Is that depth? Is Danny Woodhead, Benjarvus Greenellis and Julian Edelman depth?
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
yes. that is actually quality depth and the ability to find solid players in later rounds and as UDFAs.
they started Dennis Dixon when he was gone who was a steal in the 5th round, because he was coming off injury and was from a Spread O (but its a great steal for a project QB). the guy was a Heisman Finalist and they got him in the 5th. That is good drafting, not some coaching thing.
these FOs build depth from top to bottom and we just aren’t there yet.
bross09 - December 19, 2010
…and its not like the Steelers or the Pats don’t have injuries. the Steelers lost Aaron smith who has an impact similar to fujita has had here (maybe not as much, but a lot) and he has been out since week 7. Plus around a dozen other missed starts by starters (including Brett Kiesel being injured at the same time smith is).
bross09 - December 19, 2010
those are four great examples of depth. I’m not sure what you’re trying to say here.
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
I agree, and I think holmgren will take these things into consideration.
bross09 - December 19, 2010
You absolutely have to take the good with the bad, but I can see how it could be viewed as our team playing inconsistently between those games and these games.
Browns town - December 19, 2010
but there are reasons beyond coaching for those inconsistencies.
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
I agree with you, and I really hope that Holmgren sees it this way too. My original post was that “if these last two weeks mean the end for Mangini.” I guess I’ll just call it a gut feeling that these recent performances will spell out bad things for Mangini.
Browns town - December 19, 2010
Because these were games to build on for next season.
Karen Marie - December 19, 2010
Really, although I’m depressed too.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - December 19, 2010
bobby bowden
troy145 - December 19, 2010
I don’t think Mangini will lose his job this year no matter what. I think our defense misses Fujita desperately. Ever since he got hurt they’ve struggled repeatedly.
BiggieBrown - December 19, 2010
Joe Paterno.
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
Lombardi. He comes with a trophy.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
The sky is like totally staying right where it is.
BiggieBrown - December 19, 2010
Good call!
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
Hey everyone! I’m in Cleveland right now watching the game now. Sucks we’re going to lose… (Oh! Nice throw by McCoy there!). I missed the opening TD though :(. At least he looks good.
I wonder what this loss means for Mangini’s job security.
ROBISKIE FIRST NFL TOUCHDOWN!!!!
emily522 - December 19, 2010
It’s not ever yet.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
Well I have hope now haha. Nice throw. I love Colt.
emily522 - December 19, 2010
THIS.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - December 19, 2010
Same here Em
Karen Marie - December 19, 2010
Welcome to the thread.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
YES! And the crowed cheers!!!!11
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
time for an onside kick
davus - December 19, 2010
Watson the former Bengal hahaha!
North Coast Flea - December 19, 2010
he was a pat
davus - December 19, 2010
holy balls that was cool
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
And lucky.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
Awwwwww so close!
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
NOOOOOOO.
emily522 - December 19, 2010
Robo shows UP!
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
all it takes is one 1st down for the bengals to win. time for the D to shine
davus - December 19, 2010
I should have gone with my gut feeling and started McCoy over Bradford. Also, I didn’t start Mario Manningham.
emily522 - December 19, 2010
Really need a Bengals fumble here.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
but you can’t miss tackles going for the strip, either. kinda in a bind here
davus - December 19, 2010
Maybe they fumble the snap or handoff? I’m grasping at straws here cuz I know the D isn’t going to hold
JustBob - December 19, 2010
hey, it’s 3rd and 3. there is still hope.
davus - December 19, 2010
Moment of truth here…
emily522 - December 19, 2010
Come on defense, this is it.
Chris Pokorny - December 19, 2010
This is why you don’t waste timeouts in the third quarter.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
That’s it :(
emily522 - December 19, 2010
It’s over.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
gonna need a measurement
davus - December 19, 2010
Well this sucks. But honestly, even with the loss, I’m glad that Colt looked good today. The season’s lost, so I’m more concerned with player development at this point.
emily522 - December 19, 2010
Just saw that opening TD pass… nice.
emily522 - December 19, 2010
Alas, I think he looked lucky rather than good.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
Meh. He did make some mistakes, but he had a lot of nice throws. I’ll take 76%, 243 yards, 9.7 Y/A, and 2 TDs.
emily522 - December 19, 2010
Surely you jest.
burntorangeandbrown - December 19, 2010
no he didn’t. he looked pretty good. more good throws than bad ones; more good decisions than bad ones.
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
Yeah, I mean in the NFL it seems like every player, no matter how good, needs some luck to succeed, but overall Colt made some great throws. 243 yards in the air with no Ints makes me feel pretty good.
BiggieBrown - December 19, 2010
You are a ray of sunshine. Agree about Colt. Can’t figure out why we looked so flat today.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - December 19, 2010
Ha, thanks. Trying to stay positive. The fact that we need a QB so badly and I think we have ours makes me feel a little better.
emily522 - December 19, 2010
As it should. Baffled about where the rest of the team is failing, but that is a good thing.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - December 19, 2010
I’m also happy about Colt, but this more than sucks. I want wins and this is a complete kick in the nuts. nothing like finishing the season with a crash and burn. complete opposite of last season.
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
This.
LondonBrown - December 19, 2010
True, but I still feel better about this season than last season.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
THIS.
emily522 - December 19, 2010
I was felling ashitload better about this season during the first coming of McCoy.
There’s been abit too much horror since then.
LondonBrown - December 19, 2010
game, blouses.
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
this one’s on the guys in the trenches. awful, just awful.
notthatnoise - December 19, 2010
Yup.
We need Fujita back for our run D.
emily522 - December 19, 2010
This. This. This.
BiggieBrown - December 19, 2010
Fujita has obviously massive.
D spent 38 minutes on the field, and they’re not young either. I think they had no chance of stopping the run in Q4.
LondonBrown - December 19, 2010
I can’t believe we got beat by Cedric Benson…
jpmxch - December 19, 2010
Benson I’m not surprised about, I’m surprised we allowed Carson sucksballs Palmer throw for 200+ yards and a 90 qb rating.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
i think the onside was a bad decision
macdowellm03 - December 19, 2010
Onside or not doesn’t matter if you can’t force three and out.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
i don’t think so. the browns hadn’t been stopping the run all game, you would give yourself a better chance to win with an onside kick IMO
davus - December 19, 2010
i hate that commercial.
troy145 - December 19, 2010
If you have a long losing streak, invite the Browns to your party.
palcal - December 19, 2010 via mobile
19/25 243 yds 2 td 0 Int. The sky is not falling. Its a frustrating and annoying loss, but Colt played well.
BiggieBrown - December 19, 2010
Well I’m going to the mall with a friend. I’ll be in the game thread next week. Bye, guys!
emily522 - December 19, 2010
Have fun.
BiggieBrown - December 19, 2010
Get us a printer would you?
I feel like sitting on the sofa and sobbing rather than going out.
LondonBrown - December 19, 2010
Enjoy, hoping for better results next week!
RelapsingDawgCatcher - December 19, 2010
see ya mangini
rudy5226 - December 19, 2010
Thhe Browns have been flat and emotionless the last 2 weeks.
palcal - December 19, 2010 via mobile
And watching them has left me feeling the same.
JustBob - December 19, 2010
Watching them has left me drunk
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
that explains a lot.
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
yep. Are we playing for draft now or what? I liked how we had a nice drive at the end, but why the hell didnt we attempt those throws in the 2nd quarter?? I’m tired of watching a team only doing what they have to do when they have to do it.
dmbshn41 - December 19, 2010
Bingo
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
Can they get up for Pitt and Balt? Or have they packed it in for the season?
palcal - December 19, 2010 via mobile
Its hard telling. After watching the last few weeks, I’d be surprised if we even compete in those games. If Pitt or Bal played against our defense from today, there goes that 30+ pts a game streak.
dmbshn41 - December 19, 2010
This question will decide Mangini’s fate.
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
His fate may already be decided. Win against Carolina due to technicality(sucky kicker), lose to Buffalo, Cincinnati. Not to count all the other close games that we lost.
dmbshn41 - December 19, 2010
the technicality was the fact that we were almost shafted on a bad call…but thats moot now.
Buffalo is a much better team than people realize. they took Pitt to OT and have an extremely tough SoS, so it shouldn’t be a shock to lose to them on the road.
This game we were competitive, but we DID play a divisional game on the road and divisional games are often closer than they should be.
We lost close games against good teams. Those games outside of the ones you mentioned where we lost by 1 score or less, the teams have a combined record of 44-25, and over a 16 game season, the average team is better than 10-6. I would say that losing a handful of games to playoff caliber teams by a score or less is nothing to scoff at.
bross09 - December 19, 2010
Go Jacksonville!
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
Well damn.
Simmsinns - December 19, 2010
lmao onside return for td…….
macdowellm03 - December 19, 2010
It’s pretty obvious this team can beat passing teams like the Saints and Pats with exotic defenses and blitzes but we have been hopeless against running teams all year long.
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
this is just all sorts of wrong.
Cincy is a passing team; 30th in both yards and ypc. I don’t know how you are getting that they are some great team from this. we just sucked today on D.
bross09 - December 19, 2010
Do actually watch football?
HenryDawg - December 19, 2010
yes I do. Cedric Benson has sucked. Cincy is not a particularly great passing team, but they rank above 30th in yards and yards per carry. They ARE a passing team, because of the breakdown of plays. they are 4th in attempts. that makes them a passing team. end of story.
bross09 - December 20, 2010
I hope the Jets effing ANNIHILATE the Squealers. Not that I want the Ravens to win the division, but right now I’d enjoy that.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - December 19, 2010
absolutely. take something positive out of today.
Dawg Nuts - December 19, 2010
wow.. Eagles won
jpmxch - December 19, 2010
POST GAME THREAD IS HERE
Chris Pokorny - December 19, 2010
The Maggot
Its time to fire the maggot Mangini and his butt buddy Dabol, no need to wait till the end of the season, hell a high school coaching staff could out coach the friggin morons the Browns have for coaches
CharleneRene - December 20, 2010
Perhaps you’d like to make these ever so intelligent comments over at cleveland.com?
RelapsingDawgCatcher - December 20, 2010
Oh wow.
Golan’s early prediction may have just been cemented.
Simmsinns - December 21, 2010
Which one?
golanbatrac - December 21, 2010
That this would be the worst game thread ever.
