I hope everybody is having a Happy Thanksgiving, especially Browns fans! If you're having a get together and are a football fan, then chances are that you'll be sitting in front of the TV at some point today to watch some NFL action. If any of you find yourself in front of a computer during the games and want to comment, feel free to use this as a game thread.
In the mean time, at 3-7, there are still plenty of things to be thankful of during the Cleveland Browns' 2010-2011 season. In no particular order, here are five things I am thankful for...

- I'm thankful for Josh McDaniels, who generously donated Peyton Hillis to the Cleveland Browns, allowing him to become one of the best and funnest running backs to watch in the NFL.
- I'm thankful for veteran linebacker David Bowens, whose two interception returns for touchdowns against Drew Brees will go down as one of the most memorable individual defensive performances for a Browns player since the expansion era.
- I'm thankful for the fact that the Browns have been competitive in every football game they've played in this season. The games have still been frustrating and disappointing at times, but it's better than constantly being on the losing end of a blowout.
- I'm thankful for the fact that Mike Holmgren decided to give Eric Mangini a second chance. Again, the record isn't very pretty, but the team seems to have really bonded together under Mangini this year and the coach has opened up much more than last year.
- Lastly, I'm thankful for the fact that we destroyed Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Many still consider the Patriots the best team in football, but everyone across the league saw just what Cleveland was capable of as a football team with that performance, and it was fun to see the media giving Cleveland some "respect" for once.
What are you thankful for regarding the Browns' season?
Today's games include the following...
- 12:30 PM: New England vs. Detroit (CBS)
- 4:15 PM: New Orleans vs. Dallas (FOX)
- 8:20 PM: Cincinnati vs. New York Jets (NFLN)
Before last week's game against Jacksonville, the Browns faced a team in each Thanksgiving game three weeks in a row.
1. I’m thankful that we were able to see Colt play this season, even if it wasn’t according to plan.
2. I’m also thankful for the Hillis trade.
3. I’m thankful that I was wrong about TJ Ward. At the time, I thought the pick sounded like a reach.
4. I’m thankful that when given the opportunity, Haden has looked legit in coverage.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I wish the games were a bit better though.

5. Thankful I just saw that Josh Cribbs fathead commercial.
emily522 - November 25, 2010
I don’t “know” any of you, but I sure as hell enjoy you guys. Even you SB.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Go Browns!
Bernie19Kosar - November 25, 2010
1. I’m thankful that Derek Anderson isnt on the team anymore
2. I’m thankful for Chubby Zeus and his gameplans
3. I’m thankful the front office didnt overreact to the RFA’s in the offseason
4. I’m thankful that Peyton Hillis and Colt McCoy are something to look forward too.
5. I’m thankful that while we are competitive that we’ll have a shot at AJ Green in next years draft.
sleepy042 - November 25, 2010
I’m thankful for Tom Heckert.
notthatnoise - November 25, 2010
I’m thankful for being able to watch a team that isn’t horrible. Being able to run around the house screaming for joy multiple times a game. Being able to walk around and not get laughed at when I wear my colors. People know we’re on the rise.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
Brownie's Year - November 25, 2010
I’m thankful I’m not a Bengals fan.
I’m thankful I live in a country where I can waste so much time obsessing over a sport.
I’m thankful it’s 2010 and it’s a whole new Brown!
I’m also thankful it’s Thursday, November 25, 2010, 12:03 est and Braylon Edwards still sucks.
Villeslgr - November 25, 2010
Detroit has hosted the Thanksgiving game since 1945; the Cowboys since 1966, when they beat the Browns 26-14. The last time Cleveland played on Thanksgiving was 1982, losing to the Cowboys 31-14.
This reminds me that I’m thankful the Browns are better than back in 1982, and better than Detroit. I’m also thankful to have an owner better that Jerry Jones, who meddles in everything.
Thank you to all the service people (armed forces, police, fire, medical, etc.).
Thanks to my family; and thank you to the fellow Browns fans on this site. Actually, I’m thankful for Cleveland and its teams. Being a Cleveland fan is good for the soul.

1) I’m thankful for having an exciting young quarterback to watch.
2) I’m thankful for any of Mooncamping’s raving and usually vague posts.
BrownDawg1409 - November 25, 2010
Happy Campers! Happy Campers!
mooncamping - November 25, 2010
I move we rename MIDAS to “Happy Campers.”

Happy thanksgiving Browns & USA.
LondonBrown - November 25, 2010
Any chance?
mooncamping - November 26, 2010
And thanks to you MC.
Spidey - November 25, 2010 via mobile
I hope the Patriots lose this game so they can make Tom Brady feel like the worst quarterback in the world again. What a tool.
emily522 - November 25, 2010
14-3 down…. interesting start to the day!
LondonBrown - November 25, 2010
I wish we had Suh, Megatron and Mayo. In fact, these are the exact three players we need the most.
golanbatrac - November 25, 2010
Hopefully we get a Megatron in the draft.
emily522 - November 25, 2010
1. I’m thankful that I’ve found people with whom I can share my borderline unhealthy love of the Cleveland Browns. Though we don’t know one another, in some way we’re all friends.
2. I’m thankful for Joe Thomas.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I’m thankful for my family, the fact that I can just watch football with my dad, and I’m thankful that you guys have accepted me into the world of DBN. Thanks for accepting a punk ass high schooler into the world of superfandom.
brownsboy14 - November 25, 2010 via mobile
Get lost you little shit.
golanbatrac - November 25, 2010
;)
golanbatrac - November 25, 2010
Fine, I will
brownsboy14 - November 25, 2010 via mobile
Just kidding, lol
brownsboy14 - November 25, 2010 via mobile
and stay off the grass
Villeslgr - November 25, 2010
and turn that music down! (punk ass kids)
doggrad87 - November 26, 2010
Kind of creepy. ESPN predicted Aaron Hernandez’s line exactly correct: 1 rec, 18 yards. I had to start him, because Zach Miller is still questionable.
emily522 - November 25, 2010
Evan Moore!
Villeslgr - November 25, 2010
I should’ve done it.
emily522 - November 25, 2010
Miller is making me angry. Someone put him in some sort of healing chamber.
rufio - November 25, 2010
Exactly
Villeslgr - November 25, 2010
it’s called the “drop player” button.
discoinferno083 - November 27, 2010
Really? You can do that?
rufio - November 28, 2010
I’m thankful for you guys and for a competitive Browns team. And for the circumstances that allow me to enjoy you guys and a competitive Browns team.
rufio - November 25, 2010
And I’m thankful for having someone on the site that could probably coach a team in the NFL. Happy thanksgiving, ruf.
Dawg Nuts - November 25, 2010 via mobile
Ha! I wish. You too bud.
rufio - November 26, 2010
Ha things are going well for Dallas so far.
emily522 - November 25, 2010
Thankful to have all my fingers and toes and good health in general. Thankful to have a roof over my head, the means to pay my bills, and not have to worry about where my next meal is coming from.
As a longtime sports fan, I’m a sports mutt, a sports nomad, and a fan of the underdog.
I grew up in Southern Illinois. My granddad and father were long time diehard Chicago Cubs fans and I follow in their footsteps.
My favorite sport is football though, and the team I grew up rooting for was the St. Louis Cardinals, who left town for Arizona when I was a teenager. Since then I’ve watched the NFL on and off over the years with detached interest.
Left Illinois for Texas in my late teens and lived in Austin for quite a few years, eventually becoming a huge Longhorns fan.
This year a player who I had come to respect and admire a great deal was drafted by the Cleveland Browns. I read up on the Browns, found out what they were all about, the history, the underdogs, the “Dawgs”, the passionate fans. A team that didn’t seem to be chock full of big egos or primadonnas.
I decided I had an NFL team to root for again, have had a blast, and I am thankful for that.
Happy Thanksgiving DBN friends, its been fun, and go Browns.
burntorangeandbrown - November 25, 2010
I’m also thankful the Blue Jackets are relevant and the cavs don’t suck.
notthatnoise - November 25, 2010
Having come down with the flu in the morning of the absolute worst possible day of the year, it was hard to find things I was thankful for having been fading in and out of consciousness for the past 9 or so hours.
But, I’m definitely thankful for the ultimate combination of physical competition, skill, and entertainment that is the sport of football, at all levels. I’m also thankful for DBN, the best community of Browns fans on the internet.
I’m also incredibly thankful for my family.
Simmsinns - November 25, 2010
I am also thankful that Pork Chop is practicing.
rufio - November 26, 2010
I was about to put that in my original list of five.
Chris Pokorny - November 26, 2010
Seriously, how does St. Clair wreck the whole unit when he plays? It’s uncanny.
rufio - November 26, 2010
When we swapped Tackles with Chicago, both teams got hosed. It’s not often that that happens (especially when the swap was via FA / waivers).
golanbatrac - November 26, 2010
I remember asking “who’s the RT” on a preseason game when he was pushed 3 yards back and you cooly answering “St. Clair… expected”
BuenosAires_Dawg - November 27, 2010
Hahahahahaha @ Boise St.
Hahahahahahahaha!
O – VER – RATE – TED!
Simmsinns - November 27, 2010
This was a great game.
rufio - November 27, 2010
As was Auburn vs. Bama. It’s been a great Thanksgiving weekend for football thus far. I’m really looking forward to Sunday, and of course OSU vs. Mich tomorrow.
Simmsinns - November 27, 2010
I don’t hate on Boise St., but that was sweet. Good for Nevada and their program.
emily522 - November 27, 2010
I do. Mostly because they are overrated.
Simmsinns - November 27, 2010
maybe, but I think both they and Nevada are good teams.
Dawg Nuts - November 27, 2010
Love watching Nevada’s offense.
