Well, I went a glorious 0-2 with my Saturday playoff picks as the Jets and the Cowboys each advanced to the next round. At least there was some satisfaction in the Jets' victory when Braylon Edwards dropped an easy touchdown. There are two more playoff games today. This time, only one of the games are a Week 17 re-match. If you would like to comment on either of the games, whether it be before, during, or after the game(s), please do so here. The brief previews are after the jump.

AFC Wildcard: Baltimore Ravens vs. New England Patriots (1:00 PM on CBS) [See SB Nation Coverage Here]
It was an up-and-down season for the Baltimore Ravens. After starting the season at 3-0, the Ravens proceeded to lose their next three games. After that, they pretty much traded wins and losses each week, just barely making the postseason as a wildcard team. One of the losses the 9-7 Ravens suffered this season was back in Week 4 against the Patriots.
What happened in that game? "Roughing the Brady," as Keith Olbermann put it. The Ravens players were furious after the game that the referees were trying to "put a skirt" on Brady, overly protecting him. As the season has come to a close, the Ravens defense has gotten better, only giving up an average of 10 points per game.
For the Patriots, while it wasn't the greatest season, they are still a very efficient team with Tom Brady under center. He'll need to be protected though, because he can't afford to take too many serious shots with broken ribs. The Patriots suffered a big loss with Wes Welker going down last week. As always, they have someone ready to step in -- this time, it's WR Julian Edelman. A 7th-round pick from this year's draft, Edelman stepped in for Welker last week and had 10 catches for 103 yards. Patriots win by 7.
NFC Wildcard: Green Bay Packers vs. Arizona Cardinals (4:40 PM on FOX) [See SB Nation Coverage Here]
Kurt Warner and the Arizona Cardinals basically laid down last week, while the Green Bay Packers gave it their all despite already having clinched a wildcard spot. Unlike the Bengals, I don't envision this being a problem. With that said, even with their "A-game," the Cardinals aren't going to have a cake-walk against one of the league's hottest offenses.
The Packers defense has come alive as of late, but Warner thrives against the blitz. It doesn't seem wise to let Warner have time to throw, but it might be the better option for the Packers. Someone like Charles Woodson, who was regarded by SB Nation as the defensive MVP of the league, can still capitalize for some big turnovers.
Both teams' running games improved as the season moved along. Ryan Grant began getting hot for the Packers while Beanie Wells powered through for the Cardinals. Hopefully Warner doesn't suffer an injury, because any time Matt Leinart has been forced to step in this year, Arizona's offense looks terrible.
Like the Patriots, the Cardinals also suffered a loss last week at the receiver position when Anquan Boldin went down. Boldin is a game-time decision though and will likely give it a go. With all of his weapons at his disposal at home, the Cardinals will win in a shootout and probably the best game of Wildcard Weekend. Cardinals win by 4.

GO PACKERS!!!!!!
This is probably the first time I’m ever rooting for the Patriots.
emily522 - January 10, 2010
EDELMAN! EDELMAN!
SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2010
There ya go!
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
I’ll go Ravens & Pack to win. Though not necessarily cheer on.
I think I’ll be a fascinated neutral for the first game.
LondonBrown - January 10, 2010
+1
To Ravens & Packers.
I hate both teams for the first game, but for fantasy reasons I want Baltimore.
As for the Packers, they are the team I want to go all the way.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
Whoo!
emily522 - January 10, 2010
Hey, when do the Steelers play?
Oh, yeah. That’s right…
emily522 - January 10, 2010
I’ll just go and check the schedule again.

Ray Rice is a BEAST.
Anyone playing the NFL Playoff Fantasy Challenge?
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
Yes and I have Rice. I need a shower.
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2010
Same.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
Perfect hole, the line gave Rice that one, gift wrapped. But he turned on the burners.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
It really sucks that we are going to have to deal with Ray Rice for the next 8 years or so.
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2010
Just looking into my crystal ball.
Chris Pokorny - January 10, 2010
I like it.
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2010
Rice>Magahee
Why don’t they get this?
SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2010
That run on 3rd and 4 was insane.
Breaks two tackles and runs over two more for a first down. Biggest play on that drive.
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2010
It’s a fair question.
My only guess would be that they are trying to save him for the years to come. Career spans for Rice type backs can be short.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
Wow, despite the fact that Baltimore is my least favorite team, I encounter so many Pats fans that I am enjoying watching this.
Roger Dorn - January 10, 2010
I always like to see Bill Belichick get hammered at home.
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2010
Really? Baltimore actually falls third for me in NFL teams I hate:
1. Steelers
2. Patriots
3. Ravens
4. Eagles
5. Bengals
6. Giants
7. Lions
8. Start list of indifferent teams…
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
Have you forgiven the Broncos for the late 80s already?
LondonBrown - January 10, 2010
I wasn’t alive until 1989, but you present a good point.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
I was born during the bout of ’91. Yet I still understand the hate my friend.
SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2010
They’re actually above Pittsburgh for me, although hanging around on here may change that.
LondonBrown - January 10, 2010
I’m old.
golanbatrac - January 10, 2010
I feel old after those two posts.
Chief WaDrew - January 10, 2010
The Eagles seem really high for a team that we never seem to play.
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2010
Haaa
SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2010
I’ve hated Philly fans for a LONG time, and in turn, like to see them unhappy.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
Yes, Philly fans are terrible.
There team, eh, not so much.
I do hate the 76ers and the Phillies though.
Really, Phillies? So creative!
SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2010
I respect that.
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2010
For me it is
1. Baltimore
2. Pittsburgh
3. New England
4. Denver
5. Giants
6. Jets
7. Cincy
8. Indy (for Sorgiing us in 2007)
Roger Dorn - January 10, 2010
I approve and copy and paste.
SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2010
Understandable.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
Mine would go like this:
1. Pittsburgh
2. New England
3. Baltimore
4. Denver
5. Dallas
6. San Diego
7. NY Jets
8. Tampa Bay (I have no reason why)
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2010
1. Oilers
2. Ravens
3. Steelers
4. Cowboys
5. Broncos
golanbatrac - January 10, 2010
I also hate anyone or anything associated with the city of Atlanta.
golanbatrac - January 10, 2010
Wow. I lived there for 15 years.
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2010
I have one free pass. It’s your lucky day!
golanbatrac - January 10, 2010
mentioning the Oilers reminds me of W*&%£$ Slaughter, the Braylon of that era, except:
a/ he was pretty good
b/ we were a winning team and needed him
LondonBrown - January 10, 2010
If I didn’t love Dallas for fantasy players, they’d make my list. But, I’ve had Witten the past 2 years, Romo for 2 years, and Miles Austin this year practically saved my team, and helped me win a championship.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
I had Austin.
Still don’t like their front running fans.
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2010
I’m purely a fan of the players when it comes to the Cowboys. Not the team, especially not the fans.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
1. steelers
2. ravens
i hate those 2 so bitterly that i can neither trouble myself, or afford the time, trying to hate anyone else. let’s go colts.
Dawg Nuts - January 10, 2010
I admire your clarity of purpose, DN.
Go Colts!
RelapsingDawgCatcher - January 10, 2010
yeah, i like to keep it simple.
Dawg Nuts - January 10, 2010
This is funny.
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2010
I agree completely!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jayson732 - January 10, 2010
I’m solid with this – just reverse the order and I’m there.
woodsmeister - January 10, 2010
Teams I hate:
1. Steelers
2. Patriots
3. Ravens (They’d be #2 if I wasn’t 4 when Modell tried to move us. I don’t remember that at all.)
4. Cowboys
5. Bengals
6. Broncos (Wasn’t alive in the 80s…)
7. Lions
Teams I like/will cheer for:
1. Browns (duh)
2. Packers
3. Colts (Only for Peyton Manning and only in the playoffs)
The rest I’m indifferent to.
emily522 - January 10, 2010
I lost a lot of respect for Indy after this seasons lay down.
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2010
Yeah, I can see that. I just like Peyton Manning.
emily522 - January 10, 2010
I still really like Peyton.
He was pissed when he was benched.
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2010
Peyton’s the only reason I would cheer on the Colts. I felt bad for him when he got benched. At least he didn’t go argue like another QB did…
emily522 - January 10, 2010
I feel like I don’t hate the ravens nearly as much as most people on here. their on my list, but they’re probably fourth after the pats and broncos. I don’t hate the ravens for the obvious reason that they used to be our team, i hate them purely for what they have been since then. its not the teams fault the owner is an asshole.
notthatnoise - January 10, 2010
I’m ok with them only because they beat the Pats. Plus, I like Eli :)
emily522 - January 10, 2010
I don’t players who hold out after being drafted. I see Eli as very cry baby QB. Very different than Payton.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
Yeah, I agree that what Eli did was stupid. But it worked out because Rivers is a lot better.
emily522 - January 10, 2010
True.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
So…..I didn’t exactly expect Baltimore to be up 14-0 with 10 minutes left to go in the first.
Chris Pokorny - January 10, 2010
Did anyone?
RelapsingDawgCatcher - January 10, 2010
I’m sure Baltimore fans thought they would be ;)
Chris Pokorny - January 10, 2010
You know, I almost added “except for Ravens homers” there.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - January 10, 2010
Isn’t that our #2 kicker???
LondonBrown - January 10, 2010

SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2010

SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2010
Yeah, I don’t get that.
emily522 - January 10, 2010
The Pats are trying to finish this in the first quarter aren’t they?
LondonBrown - January 10, 2010
What’s crazy is that the Pats are not out of it quite yet. They score on this drive and it’s only 14…
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
Anty team with Brady & Moss is never mathematically out of it… but
LondonBrown - January 10, 2010
Yeah, that’s what I was thinking, then…. 30 seconds after posting it, he throws another pick.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
Wow Ravens are taking it to the Pats..
emily522 - January 10, 2010
How anyone can root for Baltimore is beyond me. I’d rather watch New England win 5 Super Bowls straight then see the Ravens even get a shot at playing for one.
Estonianzulu - January 10, 2010
Agreed.
golanbatrac - January 10, 2010
Ditto.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - January 10, 2010
uh huh.
Dawg Nuts - January 10, 2010
Ehhh… that 0 for 5 trade off wouldn’t work for me at all.
Let’s just hope they both get 0, that we can agree on.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
I hate the patriots. I almost hate them as much as the steelers. they are the most overrated team of the decade, and they’ve had all kinds of help from officials and the league for years (tuck rule, roughing the passer, destroying evidence in spygate). They are the most arrogant, sore losers i’ve ever seen. I sincerely believe their coach is a bad person. I believe its despicable to run up the score on a team or to run off the field before a game is over. They like to pretend they do things differently than other teams, that they are all a bunch of team players. its simply not true. They don’t deserve any of their super bowls this decade. the only thing keeping me from hating them more than the steelers is that the steelers get unconditional hate. I hate the steelers the way a mother loves a child.
The ravens are a bunch of assholes and criminals, and i hate them for that. i have a hard time hating them for the move however, because none of them are responsible for that. i hate art modell, but somehow i just can’t hold that against the entire franchise.
notthatnoise - January 10, 2010

Bernie19Kosar - January 11, 2010

orangemocha - January 10, 2010
The Patriots already tried to make adjustments by moving the pocket around on playactions for Brady to counter the Ravens’ blitz. It hasn’t worked. They’ll need some adjustments quickly.
As I write that, another pick. Lateral, near touchdown.
Chris Pokorny - January 10, 2010
As much as I despise the Ravens, their defense has been unbelievable thus far. Wow.
I was not looking forward to another Indy/Balt. playoff match, because I thought Manning would easily be able to pick them apart. Now I’m interested in seeing it again, because I love watching Manning be methodical and hit the clutch play in a tight game against the Ravens at their best.
Chris Pokorny - January 10, 2010
I love watching Manning make Ray Ray look like a boob throwing for 400.
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2010
Yay, we got a mention on a playoff game! (High five)
Chris Pokorny - January 10, 2010
what for?
notthatnoise - January 10, 2010
24-0?!?! OMG.
Why are all these games blow outs?
emily522 - January 10, 2010
Wildcard week is awesome.
SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2010
Up 24-0 and Flacco’s thrown for 13 yards lol
emily522 - January 10, 2010
And Brady’s looking like DA with 2 INTs and a 2.8 rating.
emily522 - January 10, 2010
Kevin Faulk is usually the Patriots playoff hero; maybe he’ll lead the way to a comeback.
Chris Pokorny - January 10, 2010

SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2010

I feel for her and the real Pats fans. Talk about a complete breakdown. Still, there’s so much time left….
RelapsingDawgCatcher - January 10, 2010
I find it very unlikely that they come back from this, though.
emily522 - January 10, 2010
Ask the Broncos if it’s likely…
SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2010
The Drive reference?
emily522 - January 10, 2010
And fumble reference
SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2010
We shall not speak of these things again.
Anyway, sure it’s unlikely, but stranger things have happened, especially with 40 minutes of football left.

Speaking of fair weather fans, someone guy wrote on their Facebook a few weeks ago: “The Colts suck. I’m a Jets and sort of Patriots fan now.”
Last I checked, Jets and Patriots are rivals…
emily522 - January 10, 2010
I heard when the Colts went 14 – 1, a fan went and replaced his Colts license plate with a standard issue Indiana plate because he was so disgusted.
He was such a front runner, he waited at the DMV. Wow.
SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2010

Living in SC where there aren’t really pro sports teams, I see many Pats, Red Sox, Celtics, Steelers, whatever team is doing good fans. Makes me sick.

In NCAA news, did any hear the latest USC issue(s)?
Several recruits are already thinking about jumping ship (technically they were never quite aboard), and going elsewhere. Good luck with a mediocre to terrible team L.A., and you thought this year was bad? Ha. You ain’t seen nothing yet. No Carroll, no recruits, and investigations…
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
Yay!
emily522 - January 10, 2010
Ahem,
“Even with Carroll and many impact players leaving, I still think that USC still has an unprecedented shot at winning the National Title.” – What commentator will say this hypothetical statement?

emily522 - January 10, 2010

emily522 - January 10, 2010
Yeah, he’s like the “analyst” (if you can call him that) equivalent of a front runner.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
fixed
Dawg Nuts - January 10, 2010
if it wasn’t evident to people already, it should be crystal clear by now: players commit to coaches, not universities. USC was grabbing the top recruits year in, year out… now that he’s gone? All the top names are “considering their options”. It’s no different at any other school, and it’s the primary reason that Urban Meyer is remaining at UF in his advisory role (or whatever it is).
rolub - January 10, 2010
But USC is still a pretty attractive school for other reasons, regardless of who coaches (location, weather, tradition, etc.) Unlike a place like Cincinnati, where the attractiveness just went down pretty dramatically with Brian Kelly’s departure.
woodsmeister - January 10, 2010
of course it is. if i was a premier high school athlete and received an offer to go to school in southern california for two years, i’d accept the offer yesterday. but Kyle Prater and Dillon Baxter, two highly regarded skill position players, have both made it known that they are reconsidering, one of them saying they are now “wide open”. Another USC commitment, Ronald Powell, switched to Florida yesterday.
Consider NCAA hoops and how all of Calipari’s Memphis recruits switched to UK. The situation with USC is a bit different with the potential NCAA sanctions, but the fact so many minds changed upon Carroll’s move shows what the real reason is.
rolub - January 10, 2010
Getting paid with fancy cars can be attractive to a young recruit too. That is, until the NCAA decides to crack down on it.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
It really shows how classy the fellas at U$C are.
The recruits couldn’t get a call back from anyone during this whole saga.

RelapsingDawgCatcher - January 10, 2010
Flacco has 9 passing yards. Is he the next Trent Dilfer or something?
emily522 - January 10, 2010
1.3 Y/A
emily522 - January 10, 2010
Game manager!
RelapsingDawgCatcher - January 10, 2010
That first down pass says something.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
Yeah… all of the ravens points were on great field position or that broken run. Overall their offense isn’t really doing it. Question is will the Pats overhaul the Ravens score in time?
LondonBrown - January 10, 2010
Ouch. Damned Ravens.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - January 10, 2010
While I’m happy that NE got owned at home, I am also mad that Baltimore moves on.
emily522 - January 10, 2010
GO PACKERS!!!!
emily522 - January 10, 2010
I can endorse that, although not as strongly as I endorsed the Ravens losing. Well, at least Cincy ate it yesterday….
RelapsingDawgCatcher - January 10, 2010
Woo! Aaron Rogers!
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
(My NFL Playoff Fantasy Challange QB)
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
Had him on my fantasy team this season and he’s going to be my keeper.
emily522 - January 10, 2010
I hope the first series today for him isn’t indicative….
RelapsingDawgCatcher - January 10, 2010
Better not be!
emily522 - January 10, 2010
Funny how people were saying he could never replace Favre. So far, I’d say he’s doing a pretty damn good job. That’s actually why I started to follow the Packers more. I liked Favre while he was there (don’t anymore, though) and I wanted to see how Rodgers did. Been watching them since!
emily522 - January 10, 2010
At least John Harbough is a nice guy. Unlike the opposing coach.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
Ugh, Rodgers INT.
emily522 - January 10, 2010
Damn.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
Minor setback…
emily522 - January 10, 2010
Chris Pokorny - January 10, 2010
Ugh, FML.
emily522 - January 10, 2010
OMG PACKERS…
emily522 - January 10, 2010
All right Cardinals! Punch it in again!
Chris Pokorny - January 10, 2010
NO!
emily522 - January 10, 2010
Doucett, easy TD!
Chris Pokorny - January 10, 2010
(Shoots self in foot)
emily522 - January 10, 2010
I’m sorry for your loss.
It’d be nice if there was a game on today.
RelapsingDawgCatcher - January 10, 2010
Game. Over.
emily522 - January 10, 2010
Hey, not so much!
RelapsingDawgCatcher - January 10, 2010
Yeah, jk!
emily522 - January 10, 2010
Clay Matthews is a beast.
emily522 - January 10, 2010
His son ain’t bad either.
golanbatrac - January 10, 2010
Nor was his son.
Roger Dorn - January 10, 2010
And neither was his uncle.
SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2010
This isn’t related to anything, but is there any receiver that you would want on the Browns more than Larry Fitzgerald? He seems like the ultimate team guy and he’s such a SOLID receiver. Andre Johnson perhaps, but anyone else, forget it.
Browns town - January 10, 2010
Vincent Jackson, maybe.
golanbatrac - January 10, 2010
I like Jackson too, but I still would much rather have Fitz.
Browns town - January 10, 2010
While we’re at it, is there any young QB that you’d rather have on the Browns than Aaron Rodgers? I might say Rivers, but he kinda comes off as a tool, so I think I’d rather have Rodgers.
Browns town - January 10, 2010
Go Cards! I root for them occasionally.
BuenosAires_Dawg - January 10, 2010
My second favorite team behind the Browns.
Browns town - January 10, 2010
They’d better close the deal. Suddenly they have a game on their hands!
RelapsingDawgCatcher - January 10, 2010
I know, but I have faith in the Cardinals offense to make it a 14 pt lead here again. Gotta give credit to Green Bay for coming out of halftime like this.
Browns town - January 10, 2010
Am I the only one here who really hates the Raiders?
Pittsburgh/Baltimore obviously the two teams I always want to see lose.
BuenosAires_Dawg - January 10, 2010
It is like hating a wounded animal. It just doesn’t feel right to me.
Bernie19Kosar - January 10, 2010
I don’t like the Raiders. A bunch of thugs seem to make up their fanbase. I would feel bad for their fans because their owner is NUTS, but again, they’re thugs, so yeah…
Browns town - January 10, 2010
reply fail!
Browns town - January 10, 2010
Larry Fitz pulled a little Moss push their.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
Tie game!
golanbatrac - January 10, 2010
Man, what a defensive struggle. :)
RelapsingDawgCatcher - January 10, 2010
This game is going to end with over 800 yards passing.
Roger Dorn - January 10, 2010
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
emily522 - January 10, 2010
YOU HAVE GOTTA BE FREAKIN KIDDING ME! UGHHH
emily522 - January 10, 2010
Epic game. I’m a little disappointed, oh well.
Simmsinns - January 10, 2010
I’m so pissed.
emily522 - January 10, 2010
Wild. Wish the Packers would have pulled it out, but it sure turned into a game!
RelapsingDawgCatcher - January 10, 2010
Yeah, down by 21… it could’ve ended much worse.
The image of Rodgers missing Driver downfield on that first play will haunt me forever.
emily522 - January 10, 2010
Haunt you forever? Are you really a Browns fan or not?
Roger Dorn - January 10, 2010
Of course I’m a Browns fan! I was just pissed that Green Bay lost when they had a chance to win.
Believe me, I would have been waaaay more upset if that had been the Browns.
emily522 - January 11, 2010
Yes “haunt me forever” was a bit of an exaggeration. More like haunt me for the rest of the playoffs…
emily522 - January 11, 2010
You actually seem Packers first, Browns second.
Thats sad.
SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2010
Not at all. The Browns weren’t in the playoffs. The Packers were. If both were in the playoffs, I wouldn’t give a crap what was going on with the Packers. But, as we know, that’s not the case…
emily522 - January 11, 2010
I can understand. I wanted Green Bay to go all the way too. (Plus I had Rodgers as my QB in the Playoff Fantasy Challenge, and each week, if a player you picked moves on, they get double the points.)
Simmsinns - January 11, 2010
Thank you. It’s definitely the Browns first for me by a long shot.
emily522 - January 11, 2010
Is this where you tear your face off and reveal that you’ve been a Cheesehead all along? :)
RelapsingDawgCatcher - January 10, 2010
Haha, It’s a pun.
SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2010
Actually, it’s not but oh well.
SpecialBrownie - January 10, 2010
Ah, you caught me!
/sarc
emily522 - January 11, 2010
You would have gotten away with it too if it weren’t for those pesky kids!
golanbatrac - January 11, 2010
Rogers never should have kicked that ball.
golanbatrac - January 10, 2010
Yea they would have tuck ruled that up
Roger Dorn - January 10, 2010
I don’t understand that. That was the tuck rule to the “T”, The play was identical of Bradys. But this crew missed calls all game, why not miss another one. Helmet to Helmet on Rogers, Fitzgeralds obvious push off for the one score and the no call on the fumble. Great game horrible officials
Grockcubs - January 10, 2010
Has to touch the ground to invoke the tuck rule. Since Dansby caught it on the fly (off Rogers foot) it’s an interception.
I think that’s how it works…
golanbatrac - January 10, 2010
That’s what I saw.
Villeslgr - January 10, 2010
Yep
Roger Dorn - January 10, 2010
Thanks
also Rogers had someone yanking on his facemask.
Grockcubs - January 11, 2010
I am glad they didn’t make the facemask call. I thought Arizona made a nice play, and deserved to win that way. If the facemask is called Green Bay keeps the ball and gets a first down and probably wins.
Roger Dorn - January 11, 2010
I feel they didn’t call it because they missed the one of Warner earlier.
Fair.
SpecialBrownie - January 11, 2010
they did call it a fumble though…either way, he caught it on the fly so by the tuck rule it should be an INT but they called it a fumble…that difference doesn’t matter b/c it would still b a TD if they went by the rules.
bross09 - January 12, 2010
That was such a Cleveland-esque ending.
emily522 - January 10, 2010
agreed…I hate to say it but the Cardinals might be the reincarnation of the Kardiac Kids…they were 9-7 last yr and somehow made it to the superbowl…this year they were 10-6, should have lost, but won that game..I have a feeling it is super bowl win for them this year.
bross09 - January 12, 2010
The officials were pretty bad on the first game as well. Didn’t have an impact on the score, but I saw 4 or 5 bad calls (the Baltimore fumble which wasn’t, the 2 point conversion which did break the plane, no interference call on Watson, the spot on the ball on that Flacco run, etc)
BuenosAires_Dawg - January 10, 2010
Here’s who I want to win next week:
1) Cardinals
2) I’ll pick Cowboys, but I don’t want them in the Super Bowl.
3) Colts
4) Chargers
emily522 - January 11, 2010
So, you want the Cardinals, who are ran under a former Steeler, to make it to the SB again?
Nice, Packers fan.
SpecialBrownie - January 11, 2010
Beanie Wells! I would love to see him get a ring as rookie. I met him twice, he’s freaking awesome. He’s close to Cribbs in terms of most likable sports players.
Simmsinns - January 11, 2010
Omg you met him? You’re so lucky.
emily522 - January 11, 2010
I’d rather see the Cardinals than the Saints win Sunday. I think the Saints are a bit overrated and the Cardinals are overall a better team. I’d like to see the better team win. Plus, Kurt Warner is probably retiring after this year. So if it was between Brees, Romo, and him getting a ring… I’d pick Kurt.
Does it matter if the Cardinals are coached by a former Steeler? He’s not there anymore, so I don’t see how that has anything to do with it. If Bill Cowher came to coach the Browns, would you not want him because he’s a former Steeler?
I have no idea why rooting for the Packers in the playoffs when the Browns aren’t even in it is such a bad thing. It’s not like I’d ever root them if they played the Browns.
emily522 - January 11, 2010
would have worked out better for you this year…
Dawg Nuts - January 11, 2010
Obviously, I was rooting for the Browns in that game.
emily522 - January 11, 2010
I’m just ruffling your feathers is all. K?
SpecialBrownie - January 11, 2010
Okay. Sorry for overreacting. I just didn’t want anyone on the board to think I was jumping ship on the Browns for the Packers. I’d never do that. I just got into cheering for the Pack because they’re fun to watch and they have a nice, loyal fan base. And in case anyone else couldn’t tell, I’m a huge Rodgers fan.
emily522 - January 11, 2010
In other news (I don’t really know where else to put this), Mark McGwire admitted to taking steroids. I did NOT see that one coming!
emily522 - January 11, 2010
He wants into the HoF. Admitting should get people to finally vote for him.
SpecialBrownie - January 11, 2010
He’s the new hitting coach for the Cards. Rumor has it that the Cards demanded a public confession as a prerequisite for employment (so that all of the questions and rumors wouldn’t be a distraction to the team once the season begins).
Now, if only they’d get Tony LaRussa to own up to his involvement in the steroids era…
golanbatrac - January 11, 2010
I’m sure that he had no knowledge his two best players were on steroids.

Nope. Totally normal.
By the way for all the crap he took and everyone calling him a liar, Canseco is still is getting them right.
Bernie19Kosar - January 12, 2010
yeah…its totally normal for a guy’s arm to grow 5 times its size in 5 years…Its totally natural that mark McGwire’s upper arm went from the width of a pencil to the width of a 10 year old’s waist.
bross09 - January 12, 2010
That is totally not weird and disgusting.
SpecialBrownie - January 12, 2010
yeah…completely natural…
bross09 - January 12, 2010
That’s such bull. Why let someone who cheated into the HOF? It makes no sense to me.
emily522 - January 11, 2010
Well, it wasn’t illegal at it’s height if I’m correct or it wasn’t cheating. Peer pressure, and the fact that almost every great player did it in the 90s…
Also, the idea of admitting gives you sympathy and allows voters to stop holding the grudge they have against you because you finally came clean.
SpecialBrownie - January 11, 2010
Oh, I thought it was illegal back then. Oops.
emily522 - January 11, 2010
Because we will never know who did and didn’t. It’s unfair to those who actually come clean.
Roger Dorn - January 11, 2010
better than being the pete rose of steroids.
bross09 - January 12, 2010
LOL…the funniest thing happened. I was randomly watching a video of former players (like sam huff and deacon jones) talk about how great jim brown is…I was watching and I saw art model pop up. i jumped and almost attacked my screen.
