When you are an undrafted free agent competing for a roster spot amidst a lot of players with experience or were selected as a draft pick, your odds of making the final 53-man roster are very slim. Nonetheless, DB Bryan Williams, who was signed by the Browns on May 1, didn't expect to be waived on Monday. Williams, a local product (Buchtel High School / Akron Zips), was surprised to hear the news, according to the Akron Beacon Journal:
''I was surprised. I thought I was doing well,'' Williams said. ''Mr. Kokinis really didn't give me an exact reason. He said they had to open up the roster. I was practicing my butt off. I guess it's all a numbers game.''
Williams thought he had been performing well enough to remain with the team a little bit longer:
''I think I only had one penalty through the whole camp,'' he said. ''Some of the draft picks had more penalties. But I'm an undrafted free agent; they're looking at me closer.

At least he got a free bus ride out of it.

Problem 1 might be that he is evaluating himself on how many penalties he committed

This is really sad to hear i grew up with him. I just hope for the best for him and his family.

Maybe another team will come along and he’ll get a second chance. Best of luck in whatever comes though.
